But if we set aside these external definitions and focus purely on the stay experience, the deepest impression it left on me can be summed up in two words: sheer comfort. This comfort doesn't stem from any single specific amenity, but rather from an overall feeling. Tucked away deep within Beijing's Qianmen hutongs, stepping through the gate from the bustling streets into the courtyard felt like entering a different dimension of time. Grey bricks, dark tiles, courtyard walls, and tree shadows – all elements were distinctly Beijing, yet without any forced emphasis on being 'Beijing.' The design didn't just stop at symbolism; instead, it re-organized the hutong courtyard lifestyle, truly allowing guests to live in a modern Beijing courtyard home. Beijing in the summer is particularly suited to this place. The afternoon sun dappled through the leaves onto the courtyard, with doves perched quietly on the branches. Sitting in the courtyard, watching the clouds drift slowly between the eaves and grey walls, you suddenly understand why old Beijingers always said, 'There must be a tree in the courtyard.' The tree not only provides shade but also marks the passage of time. The wind changes, the light changes, and the tree shadows change. Many mention its 'hidden location in the hutongs,' but what's truly worth experiencing isn't just the hidden aspect, but rather that elusive relationship with Beijing's urban culture. Outside the walls are the hustle and bustle of Qianmen, while inside, the unique sense of scale characteristic of courtyard living is preserved. Looking up, you see the sky; looking down, you see tree roots and青砖 (qingzhuan - traditional grey bricks); occasionally, birdsong can be heard. These seemingly ordinary details become precious in today's city. The service also left an excellent impression. It wasn't an overly enthusiastic kind of service, but rather a sincere and well-measured attentiveness. Help was always there when needed, yet they maintained an appropriate distance when not. Many high-end hotels can achieve professionalism, but it's not easy to make guests feel genuine care, and this place truly has that ability. Near check-out, I had a chat with the duty manager, Chloe. What began as a simple conversation unexpectedly became a memorable part of this stay. She meticulously detailed the design philosophy and spatial characteristics of the hotel's 42 rooms, patiently explaining everything from the layouts of different courtyards to the subtle differences between rooms. One could feel her genuine understanding and passion for this hotel, which in turn gave me a more complete appreciation for this hidden hutong gem. Upon leaving, I felt that the most precious aspect of this hotel wasn't its luxury, but rather how it has preserved the ambiance of courtyard living in a rapidly changing city like Beijing. Facilities: The room is spacious and well-equipped. The Panasonic high-speed hairdryer is better than the Dyson one without a pool. The air conditioner in room 1012 makes a sudden 'dong dong dong' noise after starting; it would be good to investigate the cause. Hygiene: Very satisfied. I love their body lotion. I left a message, and they sent two extra bottles the next day. Environment: It's very close to Universal Studios, just a short taxi ride away. There's a mall nearby which is great for browsing, and you can access it directly from the 3rd floor without having to go outside in the sun. Service: I mentioned it was our honeymoon, so they gave us a room on the 10th floor directly facing Universal Studios, sent us desserts, and the towels in the room were folded into swans. They found my comb while tidying the room and immediately called me. I'm very grateful! Universal Beijing Resort Shuttle Service: Didn't use it, but there are three time slots available for a free shuttle. You just need to book in advance with the front desk. Welcome Fruit: Plums, a bit sour, haha. The pool isn't big, but I had a quick swim, and the view is excellent. Overall, it's a hotel I would definitely consider revisiting.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Wangfujing Pedestrian Street, surrounded by luxury shops, making it very convenient to get around. The Mandarin Oriental's attention to detail is superb. The understated luxury and 'old money' vibe are precisely my style. The vanity room is spacious, and they prepared welcome fruits and snacks, a bottle of red wine, and even pear soup, along with a beautifully written welcome letter. It truly made me feel right at home. Breakfast is a mix of buffet and à la carte, with fresh, organic ingredients and amazing flavors. I even had breakfast alongside the Russian ambassador at the next table! Sipping a coffee with a Forbidden City latte art design on the large terrace overlooking the Forbidden City, I truly experienced a taste of royal life. So happy! 😃

Overall, it's a good hotel in all aspects. The young man at the entrance immediately offered to help us with our luggage as soon as he saw us. After checking out, a lady in a cheongsam gave a teddy bear to my child, who was very happy. However, there was one strange incident: we didn't touch any drinks in the fridge, but housekeeping claimed we drank a bottle of Alien electrolyte water and withheld a 15 yuan deposit. When we called to inquire, they quickly processed the refund for the 15 yuan, so their problem-solving efficiency was excellent. But it's still quite strange where that drink went. This minor incident didn't affect the overall experience; the hotel is still very good.

Arrived hotel very late in the night, reception lady was very helpful and patient catering to all enquirers. As I do not have a local mobile number, they were helpful to help with food ordering from their APP. Breakfast selection and ambience was quiet, clean , simple . Apartments location is also at a quiet peaceful place and best part near to city third ring road of Beijing

This hotel boasts an excellent location, being very close to the National Art Museum of China, Guardian Art Center, and Capital Theater, making it incredibly convenient for visiting exhibitions and shows. The Line 8 subway station is also just a stone's throw away, ensuring easy access to transportation. The rooms are clean, hygienic, and well-equipped. The air conditioning works effectively, and the shower has good water pressure, providing a pleasant experience. The front desk staff were very friendly and proactively upgraded my room upon check-in. When checking out, I accidentally left some clothes in the room, and the staff promptly contacted me, which I greatly appreciated! If I have the opportunity in the future, I would definitely be willing to stay here again! I must also highlight that the hotel's dining environment is elegant, and the dinner offers a good selection of Southeast Asian specialties from Vietnam, Thailand, and India, which tasted quite good. However, a slight drawback is the breakfast. While the variety is rich, offering both Chinese and Western options, the taste, such as the Zhajiangmian, was just average. We had originally booked three days of double breakfast, but we only went on the first day and had no interest in going again afterward – simply because there were too few appealing options. If the quality of the breakfast could be improved, it would be absolutely perfect!

For my son's birthday, the hotel staff gave us a free upgrade to a themed kids' room. My son was absolutely thrilled—it was one of the highlights of our trip to Beijing. A huge thank you to the management and staff for such attentiveness to guests! I especially want to commend the hotel staff. Everyone was incredibly polite, friendly, and always ready to help. The concierges repeatedly assisted us with calling taxis and answered all our questions, which made traveling around the city very easy. The room was exceptionally clean, quiet, and cozy. The hotel has a pleasant aroma, and the classic interior creates an atmosphere of tranquility and comfort. Breakfasts were also a pleasant surprise: a wide selection of dishes, including European items, so everyone can find something to their taste. We were very pleased with our choice. Our weekend self-drive trip to Club Med Joyview Yanqing Resort exceeded our expectations! Backing onto Songshan Mountain, the air is fresh, and the resort's lawns and flower fields make for perfect photo opportunities. A leisurely stroll through the grounds is incredibly therapeutic. The rooms are clean and spacious, the bedding is comfortable, and the heated pool has excellent water quality, making water activities very relaxing. The buffet offers a rich variety of dishes, both Chinese and Western, and the desserts are delicious. The G.O staff are friendly, and the activities are plentiful: rock climbing, archery, kids' club, and the evening stage shows create a fantastic atmosphere. A special shout-out to Suna for her thoughtful service, always interacting and reminding us of the activity schedule – she's awesome! The all-inclusive package saved us so much hassle; no need to plan, just pure relaxation. It's perfectly suited for a short family getaway. Highly recommended!

I stayed at this hotel for three days last week for a business trip to Inner Mongolia. I'm back today and plan to stay for another week, as I prefer familiar places and don't like switching hotels. I booked a king room, but since there was no showerhead (I have a wound and can't use a shower), I asked the front desk to switch rooms. Instead of an upgrade, they downgraded me to a twin room. I even told them that I saw plenty of rooms available online, so why couldn't they upgrade me? I will never choose this hotel again. As for the dining, I thought it was good, and the restaurant staff were nice. However, the room's cleanliness wasn't great; the bath towel and floor mat were placed together, and the room wasn't cleaned thoroughly. The swimming pool was pretty good, though.

Upon checking in, Miss Zoe at the front desk was incredibly enthusiastic. When I asked about upgrading my room type, she immediately and proactively helped me check and change it, quickly finding me a room with a better view. She was patient and polite throughout our conversation, very efficient, and took the initiative to explain the hotel facilities. Her attention to detail showed thoughtful service, and she was serious and responsible in addressing guest needs. She's an excellent front desk staff member! 👍
