What exactly is the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC)?

The Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) is a mandatory electronic declaration system launched by Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) in March 2020, which replaced the old-school paper disembarkation/embarkation card. It seamlessly combines your immigration clearance details with a digital health declaration, making it an essential document for every traveler heading to the Lion City.
It’s important to note that the SGAC isn’t a visa. Even if you’re from a visa-exempt country, you’ll still need to submit it before you arrive. Keep in mind that approval doesn’t guarantee entry—the final decision rests with the ICA officers at the checkpoint. Once your submission is successful, you’ll receive a confirmation email containing your electronic Visit Pass (e-Pass), which takes the place of the traditional passport stamp.

Yes, Australian passport holders must complete the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) before arriving in Singapore. While Australians do not need an entry visa for short tourist or business trips (up to 90 days), the SGAC is mandatory for all foreign visitors.
Most travelers heading to Singapore need to submit the SGAC, but there are a few exceptions:
- Travelers passing through Singapore without clearing immigration (meaning you're staying within the transit area).
- Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents (PRs), and long-term pass holders (like student, dependent, or work passes) arriving through our land checkpoints at Woodlands or Tuas.
All other international travelers, including those who don't need a visa (like Hong Kong SAR passport holders with a 30-day visa exemption), just need to complete the SGAC before you arrive.
How Early Can I Submit My SG Arrival Card?
Under the latest ICA regulations (2026), you’ll need to submit your SGAC within 3 days (72 hours) of your arrival—and yes, that includes the day you land! Just a heads-up: you can’t submit it any earlier than that, as the system won’t show your intended arrival date if you try to jump the gun.
For example, if you’re arriving in Singapore on January 30, you can submit your SGAC starting January 28. To keep your travel plans stress-free and avoid any last-minute hiccups, we recommend submitting your form 1-2 days before your trip.

The SGAC online entry form is fully digital—no physical card is issued. You can access and submit it via two official, free channels (third-party paid services are not authorized by ICA ): Visit the ICA SG Arrival Card page. There’s also the MyICA Mobile app for iOS and Android.

The pictures online were a bit misleading. When I booked for 3 people with 3 breakfasts, it showed a king-size bed with a sofa bed, but upon arrival, there was only one king-size bed. It was quite a squeeze for three of us. When we tried to communicate with the hotel, there was a Chinese-speaking woman who refused to speak Chinese, which was frustrating. We had to contact Trip.com customer service, who said there were no other rooms available. We then tried to communicate with the hotel again to ask for a sofa bed. The hotel said they would charge for it, and it worked out to be over 500 RMB per day, which for 6 days felt unreasonable. In the end, we reluctantly squeezed into one bed. Although we managed to sleep, it wasn't comfortable, and the bed was extremely soft, leaving us feeling tired. The hotel facilities are relatively new, and the room is quite large, especially the bathroom. The shower pressure was excellent, but the water flow from the sink was a bit weak – a suggestion for improvement. The hotel is about a 7-minute walk from MRT Exit 4, but getting into the station itself takes another 7 minutes or so. We used the subway for all our outings, and it was quite convenient. The hotel breakfast wasn't extensive, but it was enough to fill up on if you took your time. The omelets were delicious and made fresh. Fruits and vegetables are very expensive in Singapore supermarkets, so we tried to make the most of breakfast at the hotel, where we could enjoy plenty of fruits, vegetables, and salads. Of course, if you want to eat out, it's also very convenient. There's a Great Wall shopping mall about a 10-minute walk away with many dining options. The hotel is right next to the Singapore River. You can walk through the hotel to get to the river and then stroll along it in the evening towards Merlion Park. Along the way, you'll pass two popular Jumbo Seafood restaurants, which are delicious but quite expensive and always packed with people. There are also many other dining establishments along the way, and the night view is beautiful. Hotel prices fluctuate a lot, so keep a close eye on them, even if you've locked in a rate, it can change. It takes about 1.5 hours to get to Changi Airport by MRT. Overall, it's a decent hotel. There are a lot of foreigners staying here, and I saw many adorable foreign children. If you're looking for a spacious, modernly decorated hotel, this could be a good choice.FromSAR 638

The location is superb, right opposite the Old Hill Street Police Station and next to Fort Canning Park. It's within walking distance to the Merlion and the core Marina Bay area. It's also near the D exit of City Hall MRT station, and right next to Funan Mall, making transport and dining very convenient. The hotel breakfast was plentiful, and it has two pools, though unfortunately, we didn't have time to use them. The only minor issue was that the connecting room had slightly poor soundproofing, but it didn't affect our travel mood. We booked a twin room, and even with an extra bed, it was still very spacious. Facilities: The room was very small, not big enough to open two suitcases, but it did have a mini-fridge, kettle, and hairdryer. There was a microwave on each floor in the hallway, and you could get drinking water in the lobby on the first floor.
Cleanliness: I stayed for two days, and there was no housekeeping service. It seems they only clean every three days. The bathroom trash can was especially small and overflowed after two days.
Environment: The room was very damp, and there was a strong musty smell every time I entered. I had to turn on the air conditioning to air it out.
Service: The taxi dropped us off directly on the second floor of the hotel. Self check-in was a bit confusing and there was no guidance to go to the first floor for assistance. As a result, our two rooms weren't even on the same floor. I'd recommend going directly to the front desk on the first floor for check-in; they speak basic Chinese.
The room truly was super small. The hotel facilities are comparable to a budget hotel in China. They don't provide bottled water or disposable slippers. Singapore prices are definitely high; you could get a much better place in Kuala Lumpur for half the price.
The hotel's location is excellent, very convenient for the subway and taxis. There are many eateries nearby. Ya Kun Kaya Toast had a long queue in the morning but was less busy in the afternoon. The Wok Hey chili pan mee next door was pretty good and suitable for Chinese palates.

My stay at Studio M Hotel Singapore was a mixed experience that balanced comfort with a frustrating service encounter. Facilities: All essential amenities are provided, including disposable toiletries, towels, bath towels, a hairdryer, and even a mini-fridge and an iron (though I didn't use it). The second floor offers a private space with power outlets and a desk. It's compact but sufficient; a 20-inch suitcase can be laid out on the desk, and downstairs, two 24-inch suitcases can easily be opened simultaneously. The bathroom has drinkable tap water.
Cleanliness: Very clean, no insects or anything of the sort.
Environment: I'm really satisfied. The hallway is very quiet, and the soundproofing is excellent; you can't hear any noise during resting hours. The air conditioning is powerful.
Service: The room includes complimentary snacks, tea bags, and coffee, but beverages are extra. Every morning when I left, I’d encounter the housekeeping staff, with whom I could communicate using simple English. The front desk service is great, and they offer free luggage storage.
Security is also excellent; you need to use your room key card to access your designated floor. From 3 PM to 6 PM, there's complimentary ice cream. Although breakfast isn't included, there are breakfast spots on the first floor and downstairs at the hotel opposite the All Seasons building, as well as in the mall across from the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. Transportation is also very convenient! The MRT and bus stops are incredibly close, and Dhoby Ghaut is an interchange for three MRT lines. Bus 36, which goes directly to the airport, is also nearby (just make sure you're going in the right direction).
One more important thing! Fort Canning Park is nearby, and the famous 'tree tunnel' photo spot is right downstairs from the All Seasons building! It's very easy to find, so if you arrive early, you can go take your photos right away. All in all, my trip to Singapore was made even better because of this hotel.☺️FromSAR 467

The location is excellent, where nearby the beach and the shuttle bus with easy access to play all around the Sentosa.
Both the working staff and the management are warm-hearted and helpful. Especially Antony, one Indian working staff, gave us quite good dining suggestion.
The design concept is natural, green, original and sustainable. Hotel room is spacious and part of their staff are persons with disabilities. It's within walking distance of Clarke Quay, which I recommend visiting at night – it's very close. It's also not far from the MRT station. I was a bit worried after reading other reviews, but it turned out to be a very nice hotel. The bed was right there as soon as you opened the door. However, since we were out most of the day, we only used the room for sleeping, so the small size wasn't an issue at all. My suitcase was small too, so spreading it out wasn't a problem, but I imagine it might feel cramped for larger individuals or those with big suitcases. There's no partition between the toilet and shower, so if you don't shower carefully, the toilet can get soaked. We didn't mind this at all and actually enjoyed the unique experience.
Perhaps the other guests were well-mannered, as we were able to have a quiet stay in our room. You could hear voices when people walked in the hallway and the sound of doors opening, but otherwise, it was very peaceful and we had a relaxing time. The amenities were well-stocked, and we had everything we needed.
There was an empty fridge, instant coffee, and tea, and anything we used was replenished. There's also a convenience store nearby and Isetan is close, so finding food wasn't a problem. Check-in and check-out are done via machines, but when we seemed confused, a staff member came over and helped us. The staff were also very kind when they held our luggage for us. We booked a family room, which turned out to be two connecting standard rooms. The room was quite small with no wardrobe, just three hangers on the wall.
The third-floor pool area is incredible, with a total of four pools. The largest is an infinity pool, which is quite deep, while the other three are all under 0.95 meters.
For check-in, you can scan a QR code to register your passport information first, then find the lobby manager to skip the queue. The Indian guy at the front desk was very nice and gave us the keys at 1 PM.
Breakfast purchased at the front desk gets an 18% discount, costing 36 SGD per adult.
The breakfast was standard; there was no host to seat us, so we had to find our own table. There were noodle and egg stations, but nothing particularly outstanding.
The hotel offers a shuttle bus to VivoCity every half hour.
It's a 5-minute walk to Resorts World Sentosa.

1. It's important to clarify that the Marina Bay room type faces south, and Marina Bay Sands is located to the east of the hotel.
2. The hotel lobby is usually crowded because it's connected to a mall, making it very convenient to buy food and other necessities.
3. There are separate elevator zones for high-rise and low-rise floors. The pool is shared with the Fairmont and is located on the eighth floor.

I also really liked the in-room drink service and the fact that we could use Studio 26.
As someone who isn't great at English, being able to communicate requests and ask questions via chat was a great service.
However, I did feel that the amenities were fewer than what you'd typically find in a 5-star hotel. Also, as mentioned in other reviews (though I quickly got used to it), there was a noticeable musty smell.

We had a very comfortable stay at Yotelair Singapore Changi Airport. The location is extremely convenient, especially for travellers with an overnight transit or early/late flight. This hotel in Singapore sees a lot of foot traffic. The doorman at the entrance, who was quite elderly, told me to push my luggage up the ramp myself instead of offering to help, even though I'm a woman. However, I saw him assist other foreign guests with their luggage multiple times, which made me wonder if I was overthinking it. The hotel is located at one end of Orchard Road, very close to the Botanic Gardens, which are within walking distance. While it's not very close to the MRT, there's a bus stop right outside. If you're coming from the airport, you can take a direct bus, though it takes a bit longer. The first Chinese staff member who assisted me spoke very standard Mandarin and was very easygoing. The room was ok, although small but functional. Had an unpleasant experience with the parking as there was no complimentary parking and to make it worse, you had to park at level 2 to be eligible for the $10 overnight parking. Otherwise, the parking is a lot more expensive. We ended up paying $37. They should have put some notice to inform guests who need to park to go to level 2.
