What exactly is the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC)?

The Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) is a mandatory electronic declaration system launched by Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) in March 2020, which replaced the old-school paper disembarkation/embarkation card. It seamlessly combines your immigration clearance details with a digital health declaration, making it an essential document for every traveler heading to the Lion City.
It’s important to note that the SGAC isn’t a visa. Even if you’re from a visa-exempt country, you’ll still need to submit it before you arrive. Keep in mind that approval doesn’t guarantee entry—the final decision rests with the ICA officers at the checkpoint. Once your submission is successful, you’ll receive a confirmation email containing your electronic Visit Pass (e-Pass), which takes the place of the traditional passport stamp.
Do Australians Need a Singapore Arrival Card?

Yes, Australian passport holders must complete the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) before arriving in Singapore. While Australians do not need an entry visa for short tourist or business trips (up to 90 days), the SGAC is mandatory for all foreign visitors.
Most travelers heading to Singapore need to submit the SGAC, but there are a few exceptions:
- Travelers passing through Singapore without clearing immigration (meaning you're staying within the transit area).
- Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents (PRs), and long-term pass holders (like student, dependent, or work passes) arriving through our land checkpoints at Woodlands or Tuas.
All other international travelers, including those who don't need a visa (like Hong Kong SAR passport holders with a 30-day visa exemption), just need to complete the SGAC before you arrive.
How Early Can I Submit My SG Arrival Card?
Under the latest ICA regulations (2026), you’ll need to submit your SGAC within 3 days (72 hours) of your arrival—and yes, that includes the day you land! Just a heads-up: you can’t submit it any earlier than that, as the system won’t show your intended arrival date if you try to jump the gun.
For example, if you’re arriving in Singapore on January 30, you can submit your SGAC starting January 28. To keep your travel plans stress-free and avoid any last-minute hiccups, we recommend submitting your form 1-2 days before your trip.

The SGAC online entry form is fully digital—no physical card is issued. You can access and submit it via two official, free channels (third-party paid services are not authorized by ICA ): Visit the ICA SG Arrival Card page. There’s also the MyICA Mobile app for iOS and Android.

- Easily switch your preferred language (Simplified Chinese, English, and more) using the menu in the top-right corner to make your experience even smoother.

The front desk was very nice and gave me a room in the South Tower facing the inner pool (the other side has Marina Bay views but only on high floors). Nearby attractions such as Merlion Park, Fort Canning Park, and Clarke Quay are all within walking distance. Even Chinatown is a feasible walk if you're up for it.
The room was spacious enough, but some of the facilities had issues. The showerhead in the shower cubicle wasn't working, so I could only use the rain shower. I didn't bother asking the hotel to fix it.

Facilities: All essential amenities are provided, including disposable toiletries, towels, bath towels, a hairdryer, and even a mini-fridge and an iron (though I didn't use it). The second floor offers a private space with power outlets and a desk. It's compact but sufficient; a 20-inch suitcase can be laid out on the desk, and downstairs, two 24-inch suitcases can easily be opened simultaneously. The bathroom has drinkable tap water.
Cleanliness: Very clean, no insects or anything of the sort.
Environment: I'm really satisfied. The hallway is very quiet, and the soundproofing is excellent; you can't hear any noise during resting hours. The air conditioning is powerful.
Service: The room includes complimentary snacks, tea bags, and coffee, but beverages are extra. Every morning when I left, I’d encounter the housekeeping staff, with whom I could communicate using simple English. The front desk service is great, and they offer free luggage storage.
Security is also excellent; you need to use your room key card to access your designated floor. From 3 PM to 6 PM, there's complimentary ice cream. Although breakfast isn't included, there are breakfast spots on the first floor and downstairs at the hotel opposite the All Seasons building, as well as in the mall across from the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. Transportation is also very convenient! The MRT and bus stops are incredibly close, and Dhoby Ghaut is an interchange for three MRT lines. Bus 36, which goes directly to the airport, is also nearby (just make sure you're going in the right direction).
One more important thing! Fort Canning Park is nearby, and the famous 'tree tunnel' photo spot is right downstairs from the All Seasons building! It's very easy to find, so if you arrive early, you can go take your photos right away. All in all, my trip to Singapore was made even better because of this hotel.☺️FromUS$ 143

This is an older hotel with basic facilities. It's comparable to a 3-star hotel in China, and the breakfast is about what you'd expect from a 3-4 star hotel there. Of course, the price is also around 300, but in Singapore dollars.
If you're not traveling with family, you'd find much better standard room options and accommodations for the same price. Our family of four stayed here specifically for the two large beds.
The hotel's location isn't far from the MRT station. Haji Lane and BOSS HOTEL (the starting point for the Legoland shuttle) are all within walking distance, and there are many bus routes nearby, making transportation very convenient. There are plenty of food and drink options downstairs, and there's an Indian minimart across the street from the hotel that's much cheaper than the 7-Eleven down the block.

Front desk can be contradicting in their communication. Came to the front desk to check in and was given option to wait for another 45 mins for a corner room on. Higher floor which I requested as I prefer quiet room to sleep in.
So I waited and came back more than 45 mins later and a different front desk attended to me and gave me another room instead. Didn’t inform me if the previous room mentioned to me is ready or not or it’s been given away to another guest instead.
Instead only asked me if I’m alright with a room that is not at the corner. I had to say okay cos I was areadly very tired of the waiting.
Not appreciative of being asked to wait then come back and no more corner room as promised earlier with no explanation given either.
It can be chaotic at the front desk as they have to attend to mostly guest wanting to collect their baggage versus those who is checking in.
The number of check in computers doesn’t work as I go through the steps and there is no one around to help when I’m stuck either.
But the room is great though. Very small but the interior is designed such that everything is hidden behind the wall or drawers to make use of the tight space. The view from the bathroom is priceless although one needs to draw the curtain up and down when going to the bathroom.
One downside is when your next door neighbor uses the hairdryer or draws the curtain, you can hear it clearly. Other than that, sleep was good as I use a silicone ear plug.
Didn’t get to have a chance to use the robot delivery sadly.
Shoutout to the dining staff at 10th floor entrance when I was loitering outside out of curiousity to take a look. He was very friendly and welcoming even though it’s later in the evening. The hotel's pool is absolutely stunning. The room itself was pretty basic, just functional, but it was kept clean. It's super convenient for getting to Universal Studios. There aren't many food options nearby, so we took a shuttle to VivoCity twice, which was easy and the MRT was free. Overall, it was a good stay. The front desk didn't have any Chinese-speaking staff, but their English was quite standard. The room size was spacious and not cramped. A minor inconvenience was the lack of outlets next to the bedside tables; instead, they were on the side without one. I tried the pool, and the only downside is that you might feel like an animal in a zoo, observed by people in the surrounding high-rise buildings. Breakfast had very limited options and wasn't tasty, which was a definite negative. However, overall, the good outweighs the bad. The location is fantastic, just a few minutes' walk from the MRT station. It was super convenient to get to places like Marina Bay, Fort Canning, and Chinatown by subway. Haji Lane is right across from the hotel, with tons of food and shops. Suntec City mall, which has Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, is also an easy 15-minute walk away. Amazing! The staff were fabulous especially Vita and Sara, the cleanliness top notch and the buffet breakfast and dinner brilliant! They couldn’t do enough for you, if you needed anything you just had to ask, everyone was so friendly, it really made our stay in Singapore wonderful, we’d definitely like to return, not only to Singapore but the hotel too. The bonus was the pool and the food options by the pool, again, the staff there were great. First off, the location is excellent; it's right by the subway exit, which is super convenient. The Marina Bay night view is also stunning. However, there are no fireworks, no fireworks, no fireworks! What online sources say about seeing fireworks is inaccurate; you can't see them at all. On the night I stayed, it was a National Day fireworks rehearsal, and all I could hear were the sounds, but I couldn't see anything. Regarding hotel service, they claim to have Chinese-speaking staff, but it's very difficult to find them. Most don't speak Chinese and won't help you find someone who does. It's basically a situation where they speak a lot, and I don't understand, and what I say they don't quite get either. Aside from completing the check-in, I didn't really grasp a lot of what they said. Revisiting Singapore after ten years, I still chose to stay at the same hotel, letting my kids relive their 'embryonic' experience, haha!
The location is superb; major landmarks are within walking distance, and there are three subway lines right outside the door. Getting to a concert is a breeze – blue line to yellow line, and I was there in half an hour. The airport is also convenient, blue line to green line, about 45 minutes. It's close to Chinatown, with endless food options.
The hotel has been well-maintained over the past decade; the facilities are still quite new. The rooms are as eco-friendly and clean as ever, though after ten years, it does lack a bit of modern tech – no bidet, no smart home system. The main gimmick is the mechanical robotic arm at the self-service breakfast.
The room size is average, not particularly large. The window faces the Singapore Attorney-General's Chambers, with its twin towers of a similar architectural style. The infinity pool on the 5th floor was already picture-perfect ten years ago.
The service is good, very responsive to requests, and increasingly friendly towards Chinese tourists. However, it still falls short compared to Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong or Aranya in China. It's more business-oriented, with no special arrangements for families with children.
The Lime restaurant's buffet breakfast is quite average. It's really not worth paying an extra S$23 for children when you can get authentic Nanyang breakfast at Ya Kun or Toast Box nearby.
I must commend the amenities: a full set of Appelles essential oil skincare and haircare products – they smell and feel great. There's also Bacha drip coffee, TWG tea, and a capsule coffee machine.FromUS$ 376

The room was nice and the surrounding area was very quiet! I stayed for several days, and on some of those days, my neighbors were Indian or Malaysian families with kids who made a lot of noise late into the night and started up again very early in the morning. However, the bedding was clean and comfortable, and the room design was sensible, making it look very tidy. This is definitely bang for the buck than other hotels in Singapore. The location is not that far from bus stations and Kallang station MRT. Since I love walking, it was not really a big deal for me to walk for 10mins or less.
It is also located in Geylang, so it’s very quiet. My mom and I were able to sleep well. Amenities is spot on, very clean and secured. Even the front desk staff were very helpful during our stay. I stayed here because I had an early flight the next morning. The location is perfect, as I could do some last-minute shopping at Jewel and prepare for my departure. It felt like a significantly upgraded capsule hotel bed, though I've never actually stayed in a capsule hotel before.
However, the room was tiny. Once I opened my large suitcase, there was barely any space to move around. The shower only had a half-glass door, so if you took a vigorous shower, the floor near the toilet would get soaked. The water pressure was also incredibly weak. Shampoo and body wash were provided, but there was no conditioner.
There were two USB ports for phone charging, but neither of them worked. I managed to charge my phone using an adapter I brought from Japan, but it was slow charging due to the weak current. It took about 5 hours to fully charge. I had some time before hotel check-in, so I stopped by the Priority Pass lounge at Jewel to charge my phone, which was a much more comfortable experience. The showers there were also much more luxurious.
As soon as I entered the room, I found the pink lighting to be distasteful, like a love hotel. You could switch it off, but I couldn't relax at all in a pink room. The bed was plush and comfortable though, which was a plus.FromUS$ 138

This hotel in Singapore sees a lot of foot traffic. The doorman at the entrance, who was quite elderly, told me to push my luggage up the ramp myself instead of offering to help, even though I'm a woman. However, I saw him assist other foreign guests with their luggage multiple times, which made me wonder if I was overthinking it. The hotel is located at one end of Orchard Road, very close to the Botanic Gardens, which are within walking distance. While it's not very close to the MRT, there's a bus stop right outside. If you're coming from the airport, you can take a direct bus, though it takes a bit longer. The first Chinese staff member who assisted me spoke very standard Mandarin and was very easygoing.
