Singapore Arrival Card: How to Apply Online, Forms, and Requirements

Ready to explore the Lion City? Here is your ultimate guide to the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC), covering everything from when to submit your form and how to download it, to the essential requirements, fees, and common pitfalls to avoid for a smooth journey.

What exactly is the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC)?

What exactly is the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC)?

Source: Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore

The Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) is a mandatory electronic declaration system launched by Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) in March 2020, which replaced the old-school paper disembarkation/embarkation card. It seamlessly combines your immigration clearance details with a digital health declaration, making it an essential document for every traveler heading to the Lion City.

It’s important to note that the SGAC isn’t a visa. Even if you’re from a visa-exempt country, you’ll still need to submit it before you arrive. Keep in mind that approval doesn’t guarantee entry—the final decision rests with the ICA officers at the checkpoint. Once your submission is successful, you’ll receive a confirmation email containing your electronic Visit Pass (e-Pass), which takes the place of the traditional passport stamp.

Do Australians Need a Singapore Arrival Card?

Do I Need a Singapore Arrival Card?

Source: Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore

Yes, Australian passport holders must complete the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) before arriving in Singapore. While Australians do not need an entry visa for short tourist or business trips (up to 90 days), the SGAC is mandatory for all foreign visitors.

Most travelers heading to Singapore need to submit the SGAC, but there are a few exceptions:

  • Travelers passing through Singapore without clearing immigration (meaning you're staying within the transit area).
  • Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents (PRs), and long-term pass holders (like student, dependent, or work passes) arriving through our land checkpoints at Woodlands or Tuas.

All other international travelers, including those who don't need a visa (like Hong Kong SAR passport holders with a 30-day visa exemption), just need to complete the SGAC before you arrive.

How Early Can I Submit My SG Arrival Card?

Under the latest ICA regulations (2026), you’ll need to submit your SGAC within 3 days (72 hours) of your arrival—and yes, that includes the day you land! Just a heads-up: you can’t submit it any earlier than that, as the system won’t show your intended arrival date if you try to jump the gun.

For example, if you’re arriving in Singapore on January 30, you can submit your SGAC starting January 28. To keep your travel plans stress-free and avoid any last-minute hiccups, we recommend submitting your form 1-2 days before your trip.

How to Download Your Digital Singapore Arrival Card

Steps to complete your arrival card

Source: Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore

The SGAC online entry form is fully digital—no physical card is issued. You can access and submit it via two official, free channels (third-party paid services are not authorized by ICA ): Visit the ICA SG Arrival Card page. There’s also the MyICA Mobile app for iOS and Android.

Via the MyICA Mobile app

  1. Download the MyICA Mobile app—it’s ready and waiting for you on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store! If you’re an Android user and can’t access Google Play, no worries—just head over to the official website instead (check out section 4.2 for details).
  2. Launch the app and tap on “Foreign Visitor – SGAC” to get started.
  3. Easily switch your preferred language (Simplified Chinese, English, and more) using the menu in the top-right corner to make your experience even smoother.
  4. Time to fill in and submit your form (we've got all the details in Section 5)! You can even scan your passport in the app to auto-import your basic info—it's a great way to save time and avoid any pesky typos.

Via the official ICA website

  1. Head over to the official ICA SGAC page: Just double-check that you see “A Singapore Government Agency Website” at the top-left corner—it’s the best way to steer clear of any copycat sites and keep your travel plans secure!
  2. Head over to “Visitor” → “SG Arrival Card” → “Submit SGAC” to get started.
  3. Choose “Individual Submission” if you’re heading out on a solo adventure, then just follow the prompts to wrap up the form.

Singapore Arrival Card: Everything You Need to Prepare Before You Fill Out the Form

  • Valid passport (scan your bio page for auto-input if you're using the app!)
  • Flight/transport details (flight number, arrival mode: commercial aircraft, land, or sea).
  • Where you'll be staying in Singapore (hotel booking confirmation or residential address; choose “Other” if you’re just passing through).
  • Contact information (international phone number with roaming enabled, email address).
  • Health status details (for the mandatory health declaration section).

Singapore Arrival Card: How to Submit Your Application

  1. Time to enter your personal details! Simply input or scan your passport information (passport number and expiry date), along with your full name, date of birth, and nationality.
  2. Enter your travel details: Choose your arrival date, the reason for your trip (like tourism or business), where you're flying in from, and where you're headed next after your Singapore adventure.

Everything You Need to Know About Singapore Arrival Card Requirements

The requirements I’m about to walk you through cover the official eligibility rules and mandatory checks you’ll need to clear for submission and entry—it’s about more than just filling out forms!

Who Can Go & What You’ll Need (Entry Requirements)

  • Passport validity: Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your date of arrival in Singapore.
  • Visa status: Just a heads-up, the SGAC isn’t a visa—so make sure your visa (if you need one) is all set and valid before you submit your SGAC.
  • Supporting documents for immigration: Have your return flight tickets and accommodation bookings ready to show the ICA officers if they ask.
  • Health requirements:
    • Vaccinated travelers: You might need to show a WHO-recognized vaccine certificate (kids 12 and under are exempt).

Submission Requirements

  • Use only approved channels: Submit your SGAC via the MyICA Mobile app or the official ICA website—please note that in-person submissions at checkpoints are not allowed.
  • Accuracy is key: Please be honest, as false declarations violate Singapore’s Infectious Diseases Act and could lead to legal trouble, fines, or even being denied entry.
  • Group travel made easy: Our app and website let you submit applications for the whole family or team at once—just enter everyone’s details in a single session and get back to planning your next adventure!
🎁 Book Flights to Singapore & Best Singpore Hotels. Fast Singapore eSIM.

How Much Does the Singapore Arrival Card Cost?

Submitting your SGAC through official channels like the MyICA App or the ICA website is completely free of charge!

Heads up! Be wary of third-party agencies that charge extra fees (like 36 AUD)—these services aren't affiliated with ICA and won't get you any special perks. If you're asked for payment during the official submission process, that's a major red flag for fraud. Please report any suspicious websites to ICA right away!

Your Guide to Entering Singapore Upon Arrival

Singapore has fully embraced self-service immigration clearance as of February 2024, meaning manual counters are no longer in use. Here’s how to breeze through entry for a smooth start to your adventure:

  1. Get your documents ready: Make sure you have your valid passport and your SGAC confirmation (either a digital or printed QR code) handy.
  2. Self-service clearance: Simply head to the automated gates (there are 242 waiting for you at Changi Airport!). Here’s who is eligible for self-service clearance:
    1. Chinese citizens aged 6 and up who hold a 5-year multiple-entry Singapore visa and have visited Singapore at least 3 times in the last 12 months.
    2. Permanent Residents, as well as work and long-term pass holders who have registered their fingerprints.
  3. Assisted clearance: Travelers with disabilities can breeze through with 64 dedicated assisted gates located throughout the terminals.
  4. Verification: ICA officers might ask to see your e-Pass, return ticket, or accommodation details. Just cooperate with their checks to keep things moving smoothly!

Common Mistakes to Avoid When Dealing with SGAC

MyICA Troubleshooting Guide

MyICA Troubleshooting Guide

  • Submitting too early or too late: If you miss that 72-hour window or send your entry in after the deadline, you might unfortunately be denied entry.
  • Incorrect information: Typos in passport numbers, flight details, or accommodation addresses are the top cause of delays. Please double-check everything you enter!
  • Heads up on third-party services: Paying an agency won't speed up your processing or guarantee approval, so stick to official channels for peace of mind!
  • Overlooking health declaration updates: It’s crucial to report any changes to your health status—like developing symptoms after you’ve already submitted your form—as failing to do so could be a violation of local regulations.
  • Don't forget your confirmation: Without your QR code, you might run into long waits at checkpoints. Be sure to save a backup copy!

Great location! There's an MRT station not too far from the hotel, and the Singapore River is right behind it. You can walk about 1.5 km along the river to Clarke Quay, and even reach the National Gallery. The room itself was quite spacious, and I appreciated having purified drinking water. Personally, I'm not a fan of bathtubs, and the tissues disintegrated too easily when wet, which was a bit inconvenient. However, the hotel breakfast was excellent and had a great variety.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I stayed for 4 nights during my trip to Singapore and it was a truly satisfying experience. The biggest advantage is definitely the location. It's just a few minutes' walk to Orchard Road and close to Orchard MRT, which made shopping and sightseeing incredibly convenient. There are also many shopping malls and great restaurants nearby, making it easy to get around. The room was spacious and very clean, and the bed was so comfortable that I could relax easily every day. The room was well-maintained, and I appreciated the complimentary mini-bar, bottled water, and coffee. Above all, the staff were incredibly friendly. From check-in to check-out, their responses were quick, and they always greeted me with a bright smile, making my stay very pleasant. The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, and I could see why the hotel's Carousel restaurant is so famous. If I visit Singapore again, I would definitely choose this hotel. I highly recommend it, especially for those planning a shopping and sightseeing trip.

First off, the location is incredibly convenient. Getting around is a breeze, and we could walk to most attractions. Even after a concert at 11 PM, we could easily take the subway back, and the walk felt very safe. Secondly, the room was bigger than expected, which was a real treat in high-density Singapore. The facilities were new, and they provided complimentary bottled water. The front desk staff were absolutely wonderful – so warm and attentive. The hotel's overall environment was fantastic too, very quiet and clean. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Singapore. Five stars!

The hotel's location is superb, and the lobby and public areas are spacious, grand, and clean. The service from the greeters, front desk, and luggage storage was excellent. The bay view room we booked offered an unbeatable view, and having a mall right next door made dining and shopping incredibly convenient. The only thing I want to complain about is the room service – it was the slowest service I've ever encountered in my life. Even the most patient person would lose their temper! First, we booked for three people, but only had two sets of toothbrushes and slippers. We called the front desk to request an additional set of toothbrushes, slippers, and a duvet. The front desk staff were super nice on the phone, but after waiting for an hour, nothing had arrived. We were about to leave, so we called again. Each time, a different person answered, and they were always very nice, but the items just never came. It wasn't until I called for the fifth or sixth time and finally lost my temper that everything was delivered instantly. Later that evening, after returning from sightseeing and ready to rest, I pulled back the covers to find a stain on the bedsheet. So, I called the front desk again, emphasizing that I hoped it would be delivered quickly because it was late and I wanted to sleep. Then began another endless wait. I called three times to follow up. Finally, I was so tired that I called the front desk and told them if they didn't send it now, then don't bother, I needed to sleep. I was already planning to just put a towel down and sleep on it, and *then* it was delivered. I really don't understand why the hotel's delivery service is so incredibly slow; it completely exhausted all the initial good feelings I had about this place…

This hotel is centrally located, very convenient to the MRT and bus stops, making it easy to get around even on foot. As it's surrounded by several academies, it's a paradise for young people with plenty of shopping malls and restaurants. The rooms have basic amenities, but they are thoughtfully designed, such as the hot water dispenser in the room, and shared irons, ironing boards, fridges, and microwaves on each floor. There are also coin-operated laundry facilities, which are very useful given Singapore's hot weather. The laundry room is connected to the gym, a nice touch so you can work out while waiting. For short stays, they don't clean the room daily. The air conditioning is excellent. The bathroom, however, doesn't have a wet/dry separation.

This was another stay at Hotel Royal @ Queens, and over different visits I’ve now spent close to 20 nights here. That alone says a lot about how comfortable and reliable this hotel has been for me whenever I’m in Singapore. One of the biggest advantages is the room size. For Singapore, the rooms are impressively spacious, especially at this price point, making it excellent value for money. The location is hard to beat. With MRT stations, bus stops, popular hawker centres, Bugis, Chinatown, shopping streets, and many of Singapore’s attractions all within easy reach, it’s an ideal base whether you’re travelling for business or leisure. I also enjoyed the swimming pool on the 4th floor, which is a great place to unwind after a long day. The only area that could use some improvement is the gym. It’s functional but quite basic, and upgrading the equipment would make the overall experience even better. The hospitality continues to be the reason I keep returning. A special shout-out to Mani and Lin Lin at the front desk for always being welcoming, efficient, and genuinely helpful. They consistently make guests feel at home, and the entire hotel team deserves credit for maintaining such friendly service. A lovely bonus is the beautiful church located directly opposite the hotel entrance, adding a peaceful charm to the surroundings. Overall, Hotel Royal @ Queens continues to be one of my preferred places to stay in Singapore. Spacious rooms, an unbeatable location, warm hospitality, and great value keep bringing me back, and I look forward to staying here again.

My overall experience staying at V Hotel was quite good. The hotel's location is very convenient, close to the MRT station, making it easy to get to Singapore city center, attractions, and the airport. There are also many restaurants, coffee shops, and convenience stores nearby, offering great amenities. Although the room wasn't particularly large, it was clean and tidy, well-equipped, and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning and hot water supply were also stable. The hotel staff were friendly, and the check-in and check-out processes were quick and efficient. They were also helpful when I encountered issues. Considering accommodation prices in Singapore, V Hotel offers excellent convenience, quality of stay, and overall value for money, making it ideal for business travelers or independent tourists. If I visit Singapore again, I would consider staying here and would recommend it to travelers who prioritize convenient transportation and good amenities.

This is an older hotel with basic facilities. It's comparable to a 3-star hotel in China, and the breakfast is about what you'd expect from a 3-4 star hotel there. Of course, the price is also around 300, but in Singapore dollars. If you're not traveling with family, you'd find much better standard room options and accommodations for the same price. Our family of four stayed here specifically for the two large beds. The hotel's location isn't far from the MRT station. Haji Lane and BOSS HOTEL (the starting point for the Legoland shuttle) are all within walking distance, and there are many bus routes nearby, making transportation very convenient. There are plenty of food and drink options downstairs, and there's an Indian minimart across the street from the hotel that's much cheaper than the 7-Eleven down the block. I misplaced something and when I called, they immediately knew which room I was in and what I had lost, which shows excellent coordination between the front desk and housekeeping. Thumbs up for that!

Stayed in their family room which is really two adjoining rooms. One has a double bed with a bath tub, the other has two single beds with a shower. Basins are outside the toilet altogether. Room 5155 has a nice view to the Southernmost point and the islands beyond in the Singapore Strait (and you can also watch the movies screened every night but without sound). Easiest way to move between the lobby and the room is by cutting across the swimming pool area at level 3. If you're looking for food options, there is a 7 eleven nearby, a French bistro and a fusion restaurant a few steps beyond that, and then the one altitude bar (but not open to kids) with a restaurant beside it (that is open to kids) in the next hotel. Convenient access to Kidzania via the bridge at level 2, and to Imbiah station (but gotta cross the road).

The room is tiny, really tiny. Once the door is closed, and you open a 26-inch suitcase, there's no room to walk. You can fit a 20-inch suitcase on the table, but a 28-inch one would definitely have to go on the bed. However, the location is excellent! I stayed at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay during a solo business trip to Singapore, mainly because I had meetings near Marina Bay Sands. The hotel checked many boxes for me, especially its convenient location, Halal certified breakfast buffet and walking distance access to train stations. The reception area on Level 4 immediately left a strong impression. The interior is beautiful and filled with greenery, somewhat reminding me of Gardens by the Bay. It feels modern, relaxing and very photogenic / Instagrammable at the same time. I appreciated the convenience of online check in and check out. During check in, I was assisted by Yarik, who was extremely friendly and welcoming. He thoughtfully gave me a room facing Marina Bay Sands, which I truly appreciated. Thank you again, Yarik. The room itself was spacious for a solo traveller. Everything was very clean, and I really enjoyed the bathtub and toiletries provided. Another thing I loved was the coffee selection in the room. There were different coffee strengths available, from mild to very strong, which was perfect for someone like me who enjoys coffee a lot. I visited the hotel gym as well. It is not huge, but good enough for a basic workout. Since I am an Anytime Fitness (AF) member, I also walked to the nearby Suntec City AF branch, which was very convenient from the hotel. The location is excellent. Promenade MRT Station and Esplanade MRT Station are both within about five minutes’ walk, and the Merlion Park area is nearby too, making it easy for me to go jogging. Breakfast was fantastic with many choices. I especially loved the blended juice with ginger and cinnamon. On checkout day, although my late checkout request was initially declined by Lydia at the reception counter because the hotel was full, the team later managed to accommodate my request after I explained my situation. Thanks as well to Yi Quan for assisting during checkout. Overall, this hotel was amazing. I genuinely enjoyed the stay, especially the thoughtful service and the Halal certified breakfast buffet.

Marina Bay Singapore|1.61km from downtown
My husband and I stayed at Pan Pacific to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to our expectations. The service was underwhelming from the start. The reception staff were not particularly approachable or welcoming, and we did not experience the level of hospitality we expected from a hotel of this standard. Our arrival experience was also less than ideal. We parked in the hotel’s car park expecting direct lift access to the lobby, but there wasn’t one from the area we used. We had to carry our luggage up the escalator and walk through part of a restaurant before reaching the hotel lobby. This was inconvenient, especially with luggage, and not the first impression we had expected from a 5-star hotel. One of our biggest concerns was the room amenities. When we called to request hot water, we were told to boil it ourselves using the in-room electric kettle. Normally, this would not have been an issue, except the kettle’s filter was rusty. We requested a replacement, but the second kettle was in a similar condition. This was disappointing and raised concerns about cleanliness. Another minor disappointment was the lack of basic bathroom amenities. The room did not include a comb or shaver, and there was no information indicating whether these items were available upon request. While I understand that many hotels have adopted more sustainable practices by reducing single-use amenities, clearer communication or the option to request these essentials would have been appreciated, especially at a 5-star hotel. The room was advertised as 46㎡, but it felt much smaller and more compact than we had expected. On a positive note, the housekeeping team did a good job of keeping the room clean, and the 24-hour in-room dining was a definite highlight and very convenient. The Marina Bay view was pleasant, although it wasn’t particularly breathtaking. Overall, there was nothing particularly memorable that made the stay feel like a luxury experience. Given Pan Pacific’s reputation, I expected much more. Having stayed at other 5-star hotels, I genuinely thought Pan Pacific would offer a better experience. We did not feel that the overall stay justified the price we paid. The atmosphere felt rather ordinary, and the experience lacked the warmth, attentiveness, and attention to detail we were hoping for in a luxury hotel. As this was meant to be a special anniversary getaway, it was disappointing that the experience fell short of our expectations. Everyone’s expectations are different, and others may have a better experience than we did. Unfortunately, based on our stay, we are unlikely to return and would consider other hotels for future occasions.

Chinatown Singapore|0.83km from downtown
This hotel, adorned with plants, is a landmark in Singapore. Frankly, just taking a photo from outside is enough; staying here, you don't really get to appreciate it. The pool is tiny, more for decoration. There were sharp objects in the pool, and my child cut their foot pretty badly, a three-centimeter gash. I was surprised the hotel didn't even have antiseptic solution. It's very close to Chinatown; turn right out of the hotel and cross at the traffic light. You'll pass the Jamae Mosque, an Indian temple, and the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. Directly opposite the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is Maxwell Food Centre. You can walk the whole stretch in about fifteen minutes. From the lobby, cross the road at the traffic light on the left and walk straight ahead to find Song Fa Bak Kut Teh. Continue walking for another minute along the river, and you'll see the Old Hill Street Police Station. Keep going for less than ten minutes, and you'll reach Chijmes, where you can also visit St. Andrew's Cathedral. The whole route is about 1.5 kilometers.

Marina Bay Singapore|1.58km from downtown
The location is undeniably excellent; you can walk to Marina Bay Sands and the Merlion. However, the service was the most mediocre and lackadaisical I've ever experienced at a Ritz property. I booked a twin room for my parents. The foreign guy at the front desk proactively offered us a room upgrade with a better view, but the room turned out to be a king-sized bed. We weren't informed of this beforehand, so after entering the room and finding a king bed, we had to go back to the front desk to sort it out. At the front desk, we were told there were no twin rooms available at the moment and that we should return to our room and wait. Okay, it was past 2 PM, so I understood that rooms might not be ready. After returning to our room, we received a call, urging us to stay in the king room, with the reasoning, ”We've already upgraded you, so there are no twin rooms left.” I replied, ”Okay, I didn't ask for an upgrade. I just wanted what I originally booked. Isn't that the most basic request? Is that so hard to provide?” The person then told us it would take about 45 minutes. It was 3 PM at the time, and I said, ”Fine, I'll wait!” By almost 4 PM, no one had contacted us about changing rooms, so I went downstairs again to inquire. Another front desk agent still couldn't confirm when a room would be ready and told us to go enjoy ourselves. At this point, I was furious. So, I waited for nothing earlier? My parents hadn't even unpacked their suitcases because they were waiting to change rooms, just sitting there for an hour. I ask you, is this truly the Ritz? Am I in the wrong place? This level of service and attitude is incredibly disappointing and the experience was terrible. I will absolutely never stay here again when I visit Singapore. I've seen enough construction sites 🏗️.

Marina Bay Singapore|0.73km from downtown
This was a wonderful hotel. We were told we could upgrade to a river view with a balcony and an extra bed for an additional $60, or a bay view room for an additional $120, and we opted for the river view. From our room, we could enjoy the night view of Boat Quay, and in the evenings, we relaxed on the balcony. The pool gets a lot of sun during the day, and the umbrellas aren't very effective, so if you don't want to get a tan, you'll need to prepare accordingly. Nevertheless, swimming while sipping a Fullerton Sling was exceptional. The breakfast offered local dishes like Laksa and Nasi Lemak, and there was even ice cream, which delighted the kids. Above all, it's a historic hotel located close to Merlion Park, and I believe it's definitely worth staying at least once.

My first time staying at this hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. And the bed was so comfortable to sleep on. I have my wonderful sleep and rest after my gym. It will be my second hotel to chill at.

Geylang Singapore|4.46km from downtown
The room was clean, but for a two-night booking, they only changed the towels. They didn't restock the minibar or coffee, even though it was included in the room. No coffee, no minibar, no drinks replenished, despite being 'included in the room'. The morning reception staff didn't smile and lacked service-mindedness. They weren't very helpful. They only spoke nicely to guests of the same nationality.

Singapore Changi Airport Region Singapore|17.83km from downtown
We had a very comfortable stay at Yotelair Singapore Changi Airport. The location is extremely convenient, especially for travellers with an overnight transit or early/late flight. The room was clean, compact, and well designed, with everything we needed for a short rest. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the staff were helpful. It was a bit pricey, but very worth it for the convenience and comfort inside the airport. Highly recommended for transit travellers.

Orchard Road Singapore|3.93km from downtown
This hotel in Singapore sees a lot of foot traffic. The doorman at the entrance, who was quite elderly, told me to push my luggage up the ramp myself instead of offering to help, even though I'm a woman. However, I saw him assist other foreign guests with their luggage multiple times, which made me wonder if I was overthinking it. The hotel is located at one end of Orchard Road, very close to the Botanic Gardens, which are within walking distance. While it's not very close to the MRT, there's a bus stop right outside. If you're coming from the airport, you can take a direct bus, though it takes a bit longer. The first Chinese staff member who assisted me spoke very standard Mandarin and was very easygoing. Many airline crew members stay at this hotel. The rooms are a bit small, and so are the beds. The hotel pool looks exactly like it does in the photos!

Had a pleasant one-night stay at M Social. The hotel has a very unique, trendy design that feels modern and fresh. The room was cozy, well-designed, and clean. It’s located in a great spot with easy access to nearby dining and attractions. Check-in was efficient, and the staff were friendly. A great choice if you’re looking for a stylish and comfortable stay in the city!
