What Exactly Is the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC)?

Source: Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore
The Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) is a must-have electronic declaration system launched by Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) back in March 2020. It’s replaced the old-school paper disembarkation/embarkation cards, streamlining your journey by combining your immigration clearance details and health declaration into one digital document—making it an essential part of your travel checklist for visiting Singapore!
It’s important to note that the SGAC isn’t a visa. Even if you’re from a visa-exempt country, you’ll still need to submit it before you arrive. Keep in mind that approval doesn’t guarantee entry—final eligibility is always determined by ICA officers at the checkpoint. Once you’ve successfully submitted your details, you’ll receive a confirmation email containing your electronic Visit Pass (e-Pass), which takes the place of the traditional physical passport stamp.
Do Australians Need a Singapore Arrival Card?

Source: Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore
Yes, Australian passport holders must complete a complimentary Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) before entering the country. While Australians do not need a visa for visits of up to 90 days, the digital SGAC is mandatory for all travelers, including those transiting through immigration.
And most travelers heading to Singapore need to submit the SGAC, though there are a few exceptions to keep in mind:
- Travelers passing through Singapore without going through immigration (meaning you'll stay within the transit area).
- Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents (PRs), and long-term pass holders (such as student, dependent, or work passes) arriving through land checkpoints at Woodlands or Tuas.
All other international travelers, including those who qualify for visa-free entry, are required to complete the SGAC prior to their arrival.

When Can I Submit My SG Arrival Card?

According to the latest ICA regulations for 2026, you’ll need to submit your SGAC within 3 days (72 hours) of your arrival—and yes, that includes your arrival day itself! Just a heads-up: you can’t submit it any earlier than that, as the system won’t show your intended arrival date if you try to jump the gun.
For example, if you’re landing in Singapore on January 30, you can submit your SGAC starting on January 28. To keep your travel plans stress-free and avoid any last-minute hiccups, we recommend getting it done 1–2 days before your trip.
How to Download Your Digital Singapore Arrival Card

Source: Immigration and Checkpoints Authority of Singapore
The SGAC online entry form is completely digital, so there’s no physical card to worry about! You can easily access and submit it through two official, free channels—just a heads-up that third-party paid services aren't authorised by the ICA. You can either visit the official ICA SG Arrival Card page or download the MyICA Mobile app, which is available for both iOS and Android.
Via the MyICA Mobile App
- Download the MyICA Mobile app (available on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store). If you're an Android user and can't access Google Play, simply head over to the official website (see 4.2) to get started.
- Simply open the app and tap on “Foreign Visitor – SGAC” to get started.
- Easily switch your preferred language (Simplified Chinese, English, and more) using the menu in the top-right corner to make your experience even smoother.
- Go ahead and fill out the form (you'll find all the details in Section 5). If you're using our app, you can simply scan your passport to auto-fill your basic info—it's a quick and easy way to avoid any typos!
Via the official ICA website
- Head over to the official ICA SGAC page. To stay safe and avoid any fraudulent sites, just double-check that you see “A Singapore Government Agency Website” displayed at the top-left corner of the page.
- Simply head over to “Visitor” → “SG Arrival Card” → “Submit SGAC” to get started.
- Planning a solo trip? Simply select “Individual Submission” and follow the easy prompts to complete your form!

Singapore Arrival Card: What You Need to Have Ready Before You Start
Get these ready before you begin so you can enjoy a seamless experience without any interruptions:
- A valid passport (if you're using our app, just scan the bio page to auto-fill your details!).
- Flight/transport details (flight number, arrival mode: commercial aircraft, land, or sea).
- Where you'll be staying in Singapore (please provide your hotel booking confirmation or residential address; if you're just passing through, simply select “Other”).
- Contact details (an international phone number with roaming enabled, plus your email address).
- Health status details (for your mandatory health declaration).
How to Submit Your Singapore Arrival Card: A Simple Step-by-Step Guide
- Enter your personal details: Simply type in or scan your passport info (including your passport number and expiry date), along with your full name, date of birth, and nationality.
- Simply fill in your travel details: choose your arrival date, let us know the purpose of your trip (whether it's for leisure, business, or something else!), and tell us where you're flying in from and where you're headed next.
- Complete your health declaration: Please be sure to truthfully declare your current health status (e.g., confirming you have no fever, cough, or other symptoms). Should your health condition change after you've submitted your form, simply head over to the “Update SGAC” function to update your declaration right away.

Everything You Need to Know About the Singapore Arrival Card
The requirements I'm about to walk you through cover the official eligibility rules and mandatory checks for both your submission and entry—it's more than just filling out forms!
Who Can Travel & What You'll Need (Entry Requirements)
- Passport Check: Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date in Singapore.
- Visa status: Keep in mind that the SGAC is completely separate from a visa, so please double-check that your visa (if you need one) is valid before you submit your application.
- Getting ready for immigration checks: Don't forget to have your return flight tickets and accommodation bookings handy, just in case the ICA officers ask to see them!
What You'll Need to Submit
- Heads up! To keep things smooth and simple, please submit your application exclusively through the MyICA Mobile App or the official ICA website. Just a friendly reminder that in-person submissions at checkpoints aren't accepted.
- Accuracy is key: Please be aware that providing false information is a violation of Singapore’s Infectious Diseases Act and could lead to legal action, fines, or even being denied entry. Let's keep your travel plans smooth and worry-free!
- Group travel made easy: Whether you're planning a family getaway or a team adventure, our app and website let you submit everyone's information all at once—saving you time so you can get straight to the fun!
How Much Does the Singapore Arrival Card Cost?

Good news! Submitting your SGAC through official channels—like the MyICA App or the ICA website—is completely free of charge. Heads up! Be wary of third-party agencies that charge fees—these services aren't affiliated with the ICA and won't offer you any extra perks. If you're asked for payment while submitting your official documents, that's a major red flag for fraud. Please report any suspicious websites to the ICA right away.

Some of the activities included in this pass are not worth the price as the prices to purchase individually are cheaper. You'd probably be able to cover the cost of the pass by using it all on the Mandai Wildlife Reserve activity like Zoo and Night Safari. If you want to use it on Scentopia, do purchase the pass and make a booking at least one week in advance. Had issues with booking the river cruise as the dates for the whole year were greyed out, causing me to be unable to book the activity. Raised the issue to Trip Customer Service who promised to raise it to the relevant team and call me back but 2 days later, yet to receive any call from the team.
Your Guide to Arriving in Singapore: Entry Requirements and Tips
Singapore has fully transitioned to self-service immigration clearance, meaning manual counters are no longer available. Here’s how to breeze through entry:
- Get your documents ready: Make sure you have your valid passport and SGAC confirmation (either a digital or printed QR code) on hand.
- Speed through immigration: Take advantage of the automated gates (there are 242 available at Changi Airport!). To be eligible for self-service clearance, you'll need to meet the following criteria:
- Chinese citizens aged 6 and older who hold a 5-year multiple-entry Singapore visa and have visited Singapore at least three times within the past 12 months.
- Permanent Residents, work pass holders, and long-term pass holders who have registered their fingerprints.
- Assisted clearance: Travelers with disabilities can breeze through the airport using any of our 64 dedicated assisted gates located throughout the terminals.
- Heads up: ICA officers might ask to see your e-Pass, return ticket, or accommodation details. Just cooperate with any checks to keep your travel plans moving smoothly and avoid any unnecessary delays!

Common Mistakes to Avoid When Dealing with SGAC

A Handy Guide to Troubleshooting MyICA Errors
- Submitting too early or too late: If you miss that 72-hour window or submit your application after the deadline, you might be denied entry, so be sure to time it just right!
- Watch out for typos: Simple mistakes in passport numbers, flight details, or where you're staying are the #1 reason for travel hiccups. Take a quick moment to double-check everything before you hit submit!
- A heads-up on third-party services: Keep in mind that paid agencies won't speed up your processing time or guarantee approval. For peace of mind, always stick to official channels!
- Don't forget to update your health declaration: Please keep in mind that failing to report any changes to your health status (such as developing symptoms after you've already submitted your form) is a violation of local laws.
- Don't forget to save your confirmation! Without that handy QR code, you might run into some long waits at checkpoints. It's always a smart move to keep a backup copy saved and ready to go.

Stayed here with my mom in Singapore. The room was really new and clean, and the staff were all very polite. The view from the window was beautiful, and the breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options. The hotel's location is convenient; there's a mall within a ten-minute walk where you can also find places to eat. It's about a 30-minute walk to Orchard Road or two metro stops away.FromPLN 723

As our parents are celebrating their golden jubilee, we are upgraded to the premier rooms. They have decorated the rooms and did surprise us. The rooms are at level 12. Rooms are clean and with great views. The breakfast buffet had wide spread of options, there’s a lot of choose from. The only downside is that no ice cream was not provided on that day. Otherwise, I will give them a 10/10. Location is very convenient and connected the the main shopping streets of Orchard Road. It make our staycation a memorable one.
We are so happy with the services provided by the front office and carousel restuarant that we decided to book the rooms again during Xmas time. Hope to see them soon.FromPLN 624

Marina Bay Singapore|0.99km from downtown
I was a bit disappointed with the hotel during this second visit in June 2026. There was a noisy construction site outside the window, and drilling went on for several hours in one of the neighboring rooms due to renovations. I really wanted to rest after my journey but couldn't, neither in the room nor on the terrace. They couldn't find another room for me, but they tried to smooth things over, which is a plus for the hotel.
This time, there were no welcome fruits, no second evening housekeeping service, and no replenishment of amenities, tea bags, or candies.
Breakfast was good.
The view was excellent; I watched the tree show from my room.
Overall, considering the room price, I had hoped for better. My first visit was more enjoyable.
It's best to go to the pool right when it opens at 6 AM – there are minimal people then. However, it's heavily chlorinated; even after washing, the smell wouldn't come out of my swimsuit. It was convenient that my room was in the same tower, so I could go to the pool in my bathrobe and slippers. There's free bottled water at the pool and a restaurant for snacks.FromPLN 2,319

Marina Bay Singapore|1.34km from downtown
I was quite worried after reading the reviews, but my overall experience was good. First off, the location is really excellent. It's super convenient for dining and getting to Clarke Quay, which was perfect for me since I was on a business trip and didn't have much extra time for sightseeing. I could just walk a few steps and take photos of those colorful windows. I stayed in the North Tower, and it wasn't on a high floor. When I checked in, I asked for a room with a good view, and they gave me a city view. I didn't bother asking for anything else and just settled in. There wasn't much to see view-wise, but at least there wasn't any outside noise. The North Tower is closer to Clarke Quay, while the South Tower is closer to the MRT and Funan mall. Cleanliness was also fine, and I didn't even need to use my universal adapter. The staff were very friendly. After reading reviews, I specifically brought cash for the deposit, so I could get it back immediately upon checkout 😂. The only thing that wasn't great in the room was a small step at the bathroom entrance, so you had to be careful.FromPLN 612

Overall, this hotel is very comfortable.
Maybe because I spent the whole day at Universal Studios and was too tired, I fell asleep as soon as I got back to the hotel and only woke up the next day.
The hotel is close to the MRT station, and most importantly, there is an Anytime Fitness nearby. It really means I can work out anytime. 😆FromPLN 357

Bugis Singapore|1.94km from downtown
The hotel's location is excellent, with a subway station right outside the door and another line a few hundred meters away that goes to Chinatown. It's about an 800-meter walk to the Fort Canning tree tunnel (a popular photo spot), and from there you can continue on to the Old Hill Street Police Station (also known as the Rainbow Police Station), Clarke Quay, and the Merlion.
The room size is a definite advantage compared to other hotels in the same price range; there's plenty of space to walk even with two large suitcases. The bathroom size is standard as well.
The downside is that the bathroom fixtures are quite old, and the shower is difficult to use. However, I was aware of this beforehand, so I was prepared, and given the other advantages, it's acceptable. The bedding is good, and the sofa is quite comfortable. Among the toiletries, only the shampoo, shower gel, and toothbrush weren't great; everything else was fine.
The room has a kettle and comes with tea and coffee packets. There's also a water dispenser in the hallway where you can get iced or room temperature water.
The hotel breakfast is decent, on par with business hotels in China. However, the service is excellent; they diligently restock drinks and food even at the last minute, even if there are only a few people dining.
There are washing machines and dryers on the fourth floor, each costing 5 SGD, and you can get change for coins at the front desk. The commercial machines work very well; the dryer gets clothes completely dry in 40 minutes. There are also ironing facilities in the room.
Overall, I recommend this hotel. If you have a higher budget, you might look elsewhere, but if you're looking for great value for money at this price point, you should definitely consider it.FromPLN 404

Excellent stay in a highly convenient location!
One of the biggest highlights of this hotel is its fantastic location. The MRT station is just a minute away on foot, making transportation around Singapore effortless. The surrounding area is lively and full of food options, from local eateries to a convenient food court, perfect for enjoying authentic Singaporean cuisine.
The room was well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. I particularly loved the large window that provided plenty of natural light and a pleasant street view. The hotel was also kind enough to accommodate my request for a room with a bidet, which I greatly appreciated.

I was impressed from start to finish with my Siloso Beach Resort experience. I arrived at Vivo City Harbourfront Station by train, suitcase in hand and was directed to the Sentosa Monorail on the top floor. There is a kiosk where I received my complimentary rail pass to Beach Ststion (last stop). Behind the train station is a free shuttle service which dropped me directly outside the Resort. Up to level 8 to complete my check-in which was conducted smoothly by the friendly desk team. They provided clear instructions for the ongoing use of monorail on the island and the free shuttle services around the island attractions. I received a cool upgrade and proceeded to my room which was clean and then refreshed each day. The location opposite the beach and a 7 minute walk to the train station which is surrounded by food outlets and stores to cater for your convenience. The team at Siloso Beach Resort enjoy their work and were always eager to assist with any enquiries, provision of umbrella or any guidance with onsite matters. We were pleased with the warm welcome and friendly service from the hotel receptionist during check-in.
However, we were quite disappointed with the condition of the bathroom facilities and the lack of follow-up from the hotel team.
During our stay, we encountered the following issues:
(1) The bathroom door lock was faulty.
(2) The shower head was detached from the hose and could not be used properly.
We have reported these issues to the front desk for three times, but unfortunately, no one attended to them throughout our stay.
We hope the hotel can improve its maintenance standards and response time to guest feedback, as these issues significantly affected our overall experience.FromPLN 617

This is an older hotel with basic facilities. It's comparable to a 3-star hotel in China, and the breakfast is about what you'd expect from a 3-4 star hotel there. Of course, the price is also around 300, but in Singapore dollars.
If you're not traveling with family, you'd find much better standard room options and accommodations for the same price. Our family of four stayed here specifically for the two large beds.
The hotel's location isn't far from the MRT station. Haji Lane and BOSS HOTEL (the starting point for the Legoland shuttle) are all within walking distance, and there are many bus routes nearby, making transportation very convenient. There are plenty of food and drink options downstairs, and there's an Indian minimart across the street from the hotel that's much cheaper than the 7-Eleven down the block.
I misplaced something and when I called, they immediately knew which room I was in and what I had lost, which shows excellent coordination between the front desk and housekeeping. Thumbs up for that!FromPLN 443

We had a very pleasant stay overall. The room was in good condition, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the view was excellent, can see Singapore skyline and the sunrise. Check-in was surprisingly quick despite the long line, and the staff at the counter were helpful and efficient with the pre-registration, which we really appreciated. Our family also had a great time at the pool. It was a pity that parts of the pool were under renovation, and some areas looked a little old, but it was still enjoyable. Harbourfront Singapore|3.39km from downtown
Pros: Very close to VivoCity, just across the road (though you'll need to cross a few traffic lights).
Other than that, there's not much else to write home about.
The biggest problem is the excessive noise! The sound of vehicles (likely motorcycles) on the road at night is incredibly 'refreshing' – I've never had trouble sleeping before, but I was woken up multiple times. If you're a light sleeper, definitely avoid this place. The bed is also very high, so it's not suitable for seniors with mobility issues. The design of the bathroom and shower doors is quite odd, and the soundproofing in the room is terrible. For my trip to Singapore, I chose to stay at V Hotel Bencoolen, and my overall experience was quite good. The hotel boasts a very convenient location, just a short walk from the MRT station. Right next door, there's a money exchange office, making it super easy to get Singapore dollars, and you'll find UnionPay-friendly ATMs nearby too – really handy for tourists.
The hotel staff were attentive and responsible. I was pleasantly surprised during check-in to find a staff member who spoke Mandarin, which really eased any communication stress.
There was just one minor snag. On occasion, after the daily cleaning, the housekeeping staff on my floor would forget to restock some toiletries like toothbrushes and slippers. However, once I contacted hotel services, the items were delivered to my room quite promptly, so the overall service attitude was still very good.FromPLN 441

I was back here after a while..there were some small changes here and there. Yes..keep it up for improvements! I requested for checking out at 1.00pm the next day and told the staff to take note so that their other staff would be aware as well. They said that it would be noted in the system. However, I still received a call just before 12 noon but I did not answer it as I was in the bathroom. Hmmm..oh well.. All else were acceptable for a short stay. Thank you.FromPLN 414

Every time I visit Singapore, I stay here. The location is absolutely fantastic, right in the heart of Orchard Road. Shopping, dining, the MRT, and even going for a run are all incredibly convenient just downstairs. The room isn't huge, but it has everything you need and is very clean and well-equipped.FromPLN 424

I stayed for 2 nights and the hotel is super close to a lot of places including china town, Lau Pa Sat and Clarke Quay. Merlion is also not far to walk, maybe about 20 minutes! The staff were super attentive and very helpful with anything I needed, the check in/check out process was also very smooth ☺️ I used the pool for a bit and it was very clean and lovely views. They also have a small gym which was nice, I would definitely stay here again! 😁FromPLN 471

This hotel boasts a prime location, close to everything! There's a bus stop right outside, and a subway station within a 10-minute walk, making getting around super convenient. Whether you're heading to Marina Bay or a concert at the stadium, it's less than a 15-minute journey. On the fourth floor, there's a pool and gym with views of the stadium and Marina Bay Sands. Upon check-out, I discovered it's an official hotel for the New Public Badminton tournament, so I'll definitely be back next year for the New Public!FromPLN 861

Marina Bay Singapore|1.47km from downtown
Our flight arrived early, and we got to the hotel around 8 AM. Luckily, our room was already prepared, so we were able to check in right away. After a refreshing shower and a short rest, we headed out to explore – it was an absolutely fantastic experience.
The hotel room has a balcony with an amazing view; we could see the Marina Bay Sands, the Singapore Flyer, and the Merlion from there.
On the 4th floor, there's a Peach Blossoms restaurant, which holds a Black Pearl rating. The food was delicious, but as expected, it was quite pricey.
The subway station is just a few minutes' walk downstairs, making it very convenient for both taking the subway and getting a taxi.FromPLN 1,146

Marina Bay Singapore|1.49km from downtown
The location is great, right in the Marina Bay area, and all rooms have balconies with views overlooking Marina Bay. The twin beds are quite spacious. However, the overall design of the room and lobby isn't particularly memorable. The direct connection to the mall is a big plus; it's great for eating and shopping, especially on a rainy day! There's no bottled water in the room, just an empty bottle for you to refill yourself. The housekeeping was also a bit sloppy, especially after staying for several days – many amenities weren't replenished.FromPLN 1,067

First time staying at Pan Pacific 3D2N stay was pleasant. As we book connecting room , and have to wait a bit longer for our other room to be ready the reception display their best professionalism to accommodate. The room was spacious, mini fridge filled with drinks and chocolate reserve for guests for quick snack. Like the motorized curtains. The amenities like coffee machine come in handy for a good coffee. Our high floor panoramic city view room, we did manage to catch a glimpse of the Singapore flyer, marina bay sands from outside our room which is a breath taking view. Hope we get to book marina view next time. The pool was big and my kids enjoy relaxing and swimming. The foot reflexology treatment was relaxing and comforting.
Overall I'm delighted with my staycation from the moment we arrive, we were welcome and greeted by the bell attendant, front reception, even check out was smooth and till our departure the hotel staff hospitality has treated us well. On side note if room service food/halal breakfast spread is available would be added advantage for Muslim guests. 👍👍FromPLN 1,226

We had a pleasant 1-night family stay at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, Singapore. The hotel made a strong first impression with its beautiful greenery, distinctive architecture and calm resort-like atmosphere despite being located right in the city.
For families, the location is a major advantage. It is convenient, central and close to Chinatown, Clarke Quay and public transport, which made it easy for us to move around without feeling rushed. The hotel environment felt safe, clean and well maintained, which is always important when staying with children.
The room was comfortable for a short stay, with good amenities and a relaxing ambience. The greenery around the hotel gave it a refreshing feel, and the pool area was a highlight for the family. It offered a nice space to unwind after a day out, and the overall setting felt more like a city retreat than a typical business hotel.
Service was generally warm and professional. The staff were courteous and helpful, and check-in and check-out were smooth. For a 1-night stay, the experience was easy and fuss-free.
Overall, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering is a good choice for a short family staycation or city stay in Singapore. It combines convenience, comfort and a unique garden-hotel concept. We would recommend it especially for families who want a central location but still appreciate a relaxing, green and visually beautiful hotel environment.FromPLN 1,318

The room was nice and the surrounding area was very quiet! I stayed for several days, and on some of those days, my neighbors were Indian or Malaysian families with kids who made a lot of noise late into the night and started up again very early in the morning. However, the bedding was clean and comfortable, and the room design was sensible, making it look very tidy. Overall, it was a good check-in experience, though the check-out time of 12 PM was strictly enforced!FromPLN 231

This is definitely bang for the buck than other hotels in Singapore. The location is not that far from bus stations and Kallang station MRT. Since I love walking, it was not really a big deal for me to walk for 10mins or less.
It is also located in Geylang, so it’s very quiet. My mom and I were able to sleep well. Amenities is spot on, very clean and secured. Even the front desk staff were very helpful during our stay. Would definitely consider staying here again if we visit Singapore in the future. Highly recommended!FromPLN 288

Singapore Changi Airport Region Singapore|17.83km from downtown
We had a very comfortable stay at Yotelair Singapore Changi Airport. The location is extremely convenient, especially for travellers with an overnight transit or early/late flight. The room was clean, compact, and well designed, with everything we needed for a short rest. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the staff were helpful. It was a bit pricey, but very worth it for the convenience and comfort inside the airport. Highly recommended for transit travellers.
