"It’s been ten years since I last came to France. I’m so lucky to have chosen this hotel. Though it’s not large, it’s incredibly cozy and perfectly located, not far from all the major attractions with extremely convenient transportation. Most notably, Montmartre is just a short walk away.
The staff at the front desk are very friendly, and the room is cleaned every day. The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable, and the surrounding street is quiet, allowing me to sleep soundly every night.
Overall, I absolutely love this hotel and will definitely recommend it to all my friends planning a trip to Paris. ❤️❤️❤️"
"The hotel was located at a very central & convenient location just adjacent to a subway line and many wonderful restaurants and cafes. Scenic places were within walking distance and so convenient.
The hotel was clean, has good & free wifi access and the staff were helpful and friendly. Would recommend to those coming to Paris for an unforgettable holiday!"
"Lovely room and adorable staff, however, a small downside: the cleaning staff started making noise very early by loudly moving furniture and vacuuming (not great for a lie-in 😝)."
"A very surprising small single room. It is super-equipped and has everything that can help make the living comfortable and easy: from the washing machine to the coffee machine, every detail is thought to simplify life. The location is perfect, in the centre of Paris but faced on a quiet and quiet square. A rare balance between centrality and calm. Very unfair."
"Although there are minor details, you can tell the hotel is making a concerted effort to maintain the property.
It's located in an area popular with young people, so there's noise from nearby pubs until the early morning. However, I booked knowing that this is typical for a lively, youthful area. If you're sensitive to noise, earplugs work wonders for a good night's sleep! The constant foot traffic actually makes it feel safer.
Public transport is abundant, and it's easy to get around on foot. There are plenty of parks and sights to see.
Dining, drinking, and shopping are all conveniently close by. The panini shop diagonally across the street is fantastic; the experienced gentleman who makes them creates paninis with perfect crispness and flavor. I've been to France about 20 times over the last 26 years, and I always make sure to have a panini, but these are truly exceptional. The kebabs and fries made by the younger gentleman were also delicious.
I stayed in a room with a balcony on the 5th floor, which required climbing a few steps from the elevator to the room. Other reviews mentioned this, and I was prepared. I understood that given the building's structure, this was the only way to install the elevator. I imagine it would be challenging for older guests with large, fully packed suitcases (20kg+) during check-in and check-out. For everyday stays, it's not an issue at all. People say the elevator is small, but there are even smaller ones in other Paris hotels.
The reception staff are very kind, even if you don't speak French. Sometimes, when there's a language barrier, you can really see people's true character.
As someone who works in hotel management, specifically as an assistant manager in a 130-room city hotel, I'm always impressed by front desk staff who can offer such welcoming hospitality and respond to guests' needs with such dedication. The front desk team at Hotel Bastille Secret truly provided exceptional hospitality."
"The hotel itself is very nice, and artistic-looking, me and my friends had a great time here. There were 2 problems however, the biggest one being that there isn't a lock on the bathroom door, and sometimes the door opened a bit too easily. The other problem was the water pressure in the shower, which was decreasing, and even stopping evrery 2 minutes.
The staff was very kind and friendly, they even let us keep our luggage in the reception hall on the last day, after making the check out, to go and visit a bit more in Paris.
Also, I have to say that the view from our room was amazing! (we stayed at the 5th floor)"
"The room was rather small, but the location was very convenient, very close to Gare de l'Est and a 3-minute walk to Gare du Nord. However, the street in front is a one-way street, so traffic is quite congested and calling a taxi isn't very convenient! It seemed like the shampoo and liquid soap were misplaced 😅 Bottled water and drinks were only provided on the first check-in, but after contacting the front desk, they immediately provided three more bottles 👍 Breakfast was simple but had a fairly complete selection. The staff were very attentive, warmly helping to heat up the milk!"
"The hotel was conveniently located near the North and East stations. All the staff were friendly. Although my room faced a main street, the noise wasn't an issue once the windows were properly closed. The opening and closing of doors on the same floor was more noticeable. Given the good value for money, I would like to stay here again."
"Good, clean hotel! Very pleasant service and reception! I arrived three hours before check-in, and they kindly let me check in early without any issues! The breakfast is quite limited, only an omelet and rolls, no vegetables, but there are fruits! Coffee, tea, and juice are available."
"A separate bed room, 20-size-round the city, a newly renovated hotel, a magnificent decoration, excellent hygiene, a new hotel, a hotel entrance system and a card elevator, which added safety to the reception, all nice and friendly. The cleaning staff is also very respected, friendly and wonderful. Residence was excellent, I advised to live in it very hard. There is also a coffee, a light teeth all day at free reception. The hotel is located in a multicultural neighborhood full of different restaurants of different nationalities, a vital area at night."

Amazing
GGuest UserExcellent hotel! I found it completely by chance, but it turned out to be the best choice I could have made. The value for money is perfect — everything is at a very high level. The room was clean, neat, and cozy, and the bathroom was spacious and spotless. A special highlight was the beautiful balcony with a lovely view over the city.
The staff were very friendly, and the room service was truly excellent — fast, polite, and efficient. The location is perfect: there are plenty of cafés, bakeries, restaurants, and shops nearby, the metro is just a couple of steps away, and you can even walk to the Eiffel Tower.
I am extremely satisfied with my stay and would like to express my sincere gratitude to the team at Hôtel Montcalm Paris for their outstanding service. Highly recommended — I will definitely come back again!
GGuest UserWell concetualised hotel based on literature. This one was Marcel Proust. If you are keen to literature, you should stay in this hotel. Lobby was well designed with classic + modern style, the room was spacious enough with necessary amenities. Big Juliet balcony window but double glazed so no noise heard even it’s on the main road. High ceiling and bathroom ok. Sometimes when you go concept hotel, I could be quite tacky but this one was really well presented. Good bed and linens. Double bed larger than normal double bed. Staff members were helpful and even brought a bulb to fix the light.
I will stay in this hotel again.
GGuest UserStanding tall as the only skyscraper hotel in the city, the Hyatt Regency Paris Étoile offers a perspective of Paris that few other properties can match. Located in the 17th Arrondissement, connected to the Palais des Congrès, it is a premier choice for both business travelers and sightseers.
The rooms are sleek and modern, but the true draw is the floor-to-ceiling windows. If you book an Eiffel Tower view room, the sight of the ”Iron Lady” sparkling at night is unforgettable. For the ultimate experience, visit Windo Skybar on the 34th floor; sipping a cocktail while overlooking the Arc de Triomphe and the sprawling city lights is a quintessential Parisian moment. Service is efficient and professional, living up to the global Hyatt standard.
Verdict: An iconic high-rise hotel offering some
of the most spectacular, unobstructed views in all of Paris.
GGuest UserThe room was small but MORE than adequate for a solo traveler. They also incorporated storage spaces that I didn't even use, since as under-bed drawers and a little closet. I thought it was a very clever use of space.
The air conditioning in my room was very good and kept the room quite cool. The room was clean when I arrived and perfectly refreshed each day when I returned. I very much enjoyed my stay.
The shower in the bathroom was my only difficulty. It was small enough that I couldn't bend over. 🤣 But all in all, it was a very efficient use of space and perfectly adequate for a space I only occupied to sleep
I also liked having local TV stations, as I got to watch the fireworks on Bastille Day.
I don't know what the hamman is.
I think there were plenty of transportation options nearby, but as a solo woman, I felt mildly uncomfortable with the vibe of the neighborhood. It didn't feel dangerous at all. But there were quite a few homeless people between the hotel and any bus stop/train station. I don't know a solution. I just think a solo woman traveler would want to know this. Again, I never felt unsafe. Just a little ”aware” of my vulnerability at night.
I would 100% stay here again.
GGuest UserThe hotel boasts an excellent location on a relatively quiet and safe street. It's just a 500-meter walk to the Arc de Triomphe and 450 meters to the metro station, offering lines 1, 3, 6, and RER A with direct access to Disneyland. My three-night stay was very pleasant; the room had air conditioning and windows that could be opened wide. While the room was indeed compact, it had everything I needed. My room type comfortably accommodated two 28-inch suitcases. The bathroom provided toiletries, but there were no disposable slippers or dental kits. There was also no refrigerator. The only minor drawback was the soundproofing, which was a bit lacking – I could hear other guests opening and closing doors and the sound of water being used next door. However, these noises didn't significantly affect my sleep. Those who are light sleepers might want to consider this. Overall, it's still highly recommended.
HHaita777The price is reasonable, and having a police station downstairs made us feel very safe. It's conveniently located near a metro station, but we mostly took Ubers to get around. Ubers to major attractions were only about 10-15 Euros, which was cost-effective for a group. The area is a local residential neighborhood with a Carrefour supermarket, fruit stores, delicious cafes, bakeries, restaurants, and a pharmacy. The sink was a bit clogged, but the front desk quickly sent someone to fix it. Overall, a great stay, and I'd consider staying here again.
BBRN10291The team was incredibly welcoming. The room was very comfortable and extremely quiet. The bedding was of excellent quality. The breakfast offered a rich variety of sweet and savory options, along with various teas, chicory coffee, and other choices – it was really complete. I highly recommend this accommodation, which is just a stone's throw from the metro.
UUncle HsiungThe room was incredibly spacious and comfortable, and the location couldn't be better – right across from the North Station, with a metro entrance just outside. It was literally a two-to-three-minute walk from the Eurostar platform. The staff were diligent, responsible, and friendly. One time, I needed to print something at midnight, and Harold on duty immediately helped me out – a big thanks to him! The only downside to the hotel is the poor soundproofing. My room was next to a large room that could sleep five people. Luckily, out of my seven-night stay, there were only two nights when someone was next door: once it was a family with two crying children, and another time it was a group of young people…
DDolmatova TatianaThe hotel's location is excellent: close to the metro, McDonald's, and a grocery store are very close, and all the city center attractions are within walking distance.
The staff is helpful and polite.
The hotel is in good condition, with a working elevator and plenty of TV channels. The room is small, like all Paris hotels.
The most important thing in winter is that the hotel is very warm!
The bathroom had a window :)
Cons:
- No kettle in the room
- Safe doesn't work
- Very small shower stall (barely fits a 90+ kg person)
GGuest UserWe spent 6 nights with my sister and the staff were all so friendly and attentive! The room has all the necessary amenities but there’s no AC so we had to open the window to get some fresh air. During our stay, the restaurant downstairs was closed and the food selection at the rooftop bar was very limited. The other thing is this hotel is right on the border of a sketchy neighborhood so while it’s safe, I would be highly cautious. All in all, it made sense for us because we were gone the whole day and only were at the hotel to sleep.
