Amazing space ,wonderful private bath with jacuzzi, steam room and massage chair. There was an assortment of bath scents and amenities. Robes and slippers provided. We enjoyed the pampering. It was a long walk from the train but so worth it.

The room is clean and has basic amenities. There's nothing to complain about, but if I have to talk about my shortcomings, first of all, the hairdryer can only be used in the shared bathroom. Also, there's the issue of location. The subway station is a bit far, so you have to walk for about 15 minutes. Lastly, you can't shower freely. You have to talk to the owner and decide on a shower time. The shower time starts at 5 PM. If you don't know something or the conversation doesn't go well, you can usually solve it with the translator you have, so don't worry. Lastly, if you want to experience the quiet feeling and old atmosphere of Kyoto, I recommend this place.

The room is big and it has all the amenities eg. TV, Big bed, jacuzzi, well equipped toilet, etc. All the toiletries are beyond our needs. Movies are free and breakfast are really cheap. The only drawback is the nearest metro station is 1 km away. But the room is value for money. Highly recommended.

The shop owners are all Chinese, fluent in English, Japanese, and Chinese, and both men and women are very welcoming. From the hotel, walk straight to the left for one intersection, then turn right onto the main road; you'll see a FamilyMart convenience store. Walk straight to the right from the hotel onto the main road, then straight again, and you'll see a 7-Eleven. Actually, the 7-Eleven and FamilyMart are about the same size, but this 7-Eleven has a drawback: they don't have those mini sweet drinks! They don't have the kind of mini sweet drinks where fruit is juiced in a machine!
The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the nearest subway station and has facilities like refrigerators. There's also a public laundry room on the first floor, but I don't know if I missed it, but it seems there's no ice machine. If you leave something behind, the hotel will send you an email reminder. While the facilities aren't as comprehensive as some Toyoko Resort hotels, it's still acceptable. Perhaps because it's a guesthouse, there's an additional 400 yen check-in tax for one night.

The overall feeling is not bad. It feels like Chinese companies are investing in construction, but the clerks are all Japanese.
Originally, I couldn't find the hotel when I was traveling, and I saw it from a distance. There are not many comments on the Internet, so I sent more points for some reference. I thought it was still a separate room + public bathroom like a youth hostel. After arriving, I found out that it was actually a separate bathroom.
The room is very spacious for one person, and two people are a bit reluctant. The mattress on the tatami is relatively small. If you make two mattresses, you can barely open two suitcases.
It is a bit far from Kyoto Station, but it is convenient to have a bus. It takes 5 minutes to walk from the hotel to the bus station. There is a bus before 10 o'clock in the evening, but it is not convenient to return to the hotel in the middle of the night. It is basically no problem to control the itinerary.
Service is very good, there is free breakfast. There is also a free shuttle service from Kyoto Hajo Station, which needs to be reserved in advance and the front desk.

I stayed in a room that included breakfast and dinner, and the food was delicious. Overall, the meals were really good... As a solo traveler with a packed schedule, it was a huge relief to come back every day and have a proper meal instead of just a boxed lunch.
The hotel is about a ten-minute walk from Kyoto Station, which is convenient. There's a Lawson convenience store right downstairs, and a 7-Eleven just a few minutes' walk away. Across from the 7-Eleven, there are bus stops with direct routes to popular attractions, including buses to Arashiyama and the Shijo area.

I booked two different room types under two separate reservations. When checking in on the first day, the front desk insisted I decide then and there if I wanted to switch rooms for the second night. I told them I reserved the right to decide whether to change rooms on the morning of the second day. They kept arguing with me at the front desk for 45 minutes, which was incredibly frustrating after a long day of walking when I was already exhausted. My experience was really poor. I stayed here five or six years ago, but this time left a very bad impression. Also, there was a constant banging noise in the room, morning and night, which really disturbed my rest. I'm not sure what was causing it.

They even offer free luggage storage. Besides the standard services, the front desk also provides high-quality facial care products for women, including face masks. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

GGuest UserAlthough it was short, I loved my stay here. Had great quality of sleep. Good base for Kyoto, near enough to key locations, but expect a lot of walking unless you use the bus. Nearest station is Kyoto Kawaramachi which is great for day drips just outside central Kyoto and if you are coming from Osaka or Kansai airport - see my tips below.
Pros: great bathroom and toiletries, good water pressure and temperature, smart toilet, TV with streaming services, fridge, desk/stool, coat hooks (handy for winter time), semi-full length mirror, luggage rack, various lights to adjust to your preference, very clean, super comfortable firm mattress and pillows, good soundproofing for light sleepers, great air conditioning (room warms up pretty quickly in the winter), you can also open the windows which is nice, felt very safe as a solo female, can ask for more water bottles in reception, lift was never crowded, outlets next to bed, has luggage storage if you need, near the river and traditional streets for scenic strolls, close to bus stop, family mart otw from station for late night snacks.
Cons: can hear police cars or cars with loud engines at night sometimes but not frequent, walking from the station with a suitcase was a bit longer than expected, my double room was a bit cramped for opening suitcase (could not open the front or bathroom doors fully to avoid hitting my suitcase) and I am one person (two suitcases would fit but you wouldn't be able to walk around the bed properly).
Tips: If you are coming from Kansai airport (KIX), I recommend you take the airport limousine to Namba (bought a return ticket since it is cheaper). It drops you outside JR Namba station, you can go inside to get to the metro station, follow signs for the red Midosuji Line. Board the train to Umeda. Stay inside the station and follow signs for Osaka-Umeda or the brown Hankyu-Kyoto line. This line goes directly to Kyoto Kawaramachi station. When stations, always look for the lift signs if you have luggages. I think I took the lift closest to Exit 4, and it brings you up to a department store. You kinda have to walk through and get out. If you walk out the front entrance, there are a few steps, but if you go to the side doors, it has a slope to avoid carrying suitcases. It's a straight walk from the station. Unless you are doing day trips, Kyoto city buses are a lot better mode of transport in my opinion.

LLeontevThis is a great hotel, my second time staying here. The rooms are very cozy and clean, and the staff is very helpful. Our flight was delayed, and they checked us in after check-in time. There's an onsen, and even though the water isn't mineral, it's still super after a long flight. Try the ice cream from the ice cream machine when you leave the onsen feeling hot. There's a cafe on the ground floor with breakfast: I recommend the Japanese-style one, but they also have a regular European option, and the coffee is good. There's a nice izakaya nearby with tempura, Tempura & Wine Kojima (天ぷらとワイン小島 京都店). There's also another cool cafe nearby, SAKESORA (京の).

GGuest UserFacilities: My only complaint is that the king-size bed in the king room is made of two single mattresses pushed together, and after sleeping on it for a while, a gap forms between them.
Hygiene: The hygiene is excellent.
Environment: The surrounding area is very quiet, and there are convenience stores not too far away.
Service: The service attitude is great, and the hotel even offers free shuttle service to Kyoto Station.

DDr.p3pp3rI stayed here in a double room and overall had a pretty good experience. The room was clean and comfortable, and both the air conditioning and heater worked very well. One thing that really stood out was the bathroom — the bathtub was much larger than what you usually get in Japan. I’m a tall person, and I could actually sit down and lie back comfortably, which is rare. Most hotel baths feel very small, but this one felt closer to around 1.4m in length, which made having a bath genuinely enjoyable.
The bed was comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job — the bed was made every day with fresh sheets. Wi-Fi was also very fast, which was a big plus. Amenities were decent, and you can pick up extra items if you need them.
Check-in is a bit late at 3pm, which I didn’t love, but that’s balanced out by an 11am checkout. Having that extra time in the morning made it feel worth it overall.
I did have a couple of negatives. The strangest one was finding an old sock behind the TV when I arrived. It was very obvious and not hidden, so I’m not sure how it was missed during cleaning. It was a bit gross, but I just left it.
Another downside was the mini fridge — it’s more like a cooler than a real fridge. It keeps drinks from getting warm, but they don’t get properly cold. In summer, this really wouldn’t be good enough. Replacing it with a proper mini fridge would be a big upgrade.
The other major issue was the lift. It is painfully slow, and there’s only one lift for the upper floors. On checkout day, I left my room about 10 minutes before checkout time, and I almost didn’t make it downstairs in time because of how slow it was. That part was honestly pretty ridiculous.
Location-wise, this hotel is excellent. It’s very easy to get to from Kyoto Station — just head south and you’re there in about 4–5 minutes. It’s also very convenient when leaving Kyoto by train.
A tip for using the subway: instead of going back to Kyoto Station, walk right from the hotel to Shijō Station. It’s on the same subway line, you’ll get on before Kyoto Station, and the train is empty — so you’re almost guaranteed a seat and can ride comfortably to your destinations.
For food and shopping, there’s a shopping mall just across the road toward the station with a Don Quijote, McDonald’s, and other options. The hotel is also right next to a Coco Ichibanya curry house, which is fantastic and open late.
Overall, despite a few odd issues, this was a solid stay with a great location, good comfort, and very easy access to transport. I’d happily consider staying here again.

GGuest UserLocation not the best and can find nearer to Kyoto station with same price. The location only good to go Nijojo castle, Toji Temple & Ginkako temple. Nothing much nearby, no night bars only a restaurant opposite it.
The worst was no lift, for a female with 20 kg luggage, I have to carry it for 4 levels up and down all by myself. It’s understandable no space to install lift, but pls consider to install a luggage travel lift.
Layout of the room is very good especially bath and toilet inside the room. Some may not like it cause ppl may back late night to bath and make noises. But I do like the single room layout with small dress up table before the capsule bed.
