"Room was really comfortable! I wasn’t able to adjust the aircon temperature so it got pretty cold for me when sleeping. The toilet was Japanese style—separated from the shower stall and had a small sink to wash your hands. The POLA skincare amenities were a really nice touch!"

"Right off the bus from Kyoto Station, the location is absolutely fantastic! We arrived half an hour early, and the staff very thoughtfully checked us in, letting us know the room was still being cleaned and we'd have to wait a little. They were incredibly friendly. The hotel even provides its own translation device, which is super convenient. For two people, the room is very spacious. I love the dark-toned decor, and the bedding is really comfortable. The waste sorting instructions are also very clear. The room was cleaned spotlessly every day. The pajamas are super comfy – though at my Osaka hotel, it was a long-sleeved shirt dress, which made me wonder about the men, haha! There's a convenience store right next to the hotel and it's really close to a Life supermarket, which was perfect for our daily breakfasts and snacks. My daughter practically drank milk like water every day! After resting up, we'd head out to grab some snacks. Getting to Shijo-Kawaramachi was also a breeze; we just strolled there, or took a bus from the corner, which was very handy. Taking a walk around the hotel is a wonderful experience."

"Room is relatively big comparing some other hotels. We were able to open two big suitcase without closing the walking path in the room which is very good thing. The pillows were ergonomic and everything in the room was super clean Location is amazing. It is walking distance to main shopping street. Also there is 24 hour open convenience store the other side of the street. There is also bus stops next to the hotel which makes it easy to travel around the cit"

"The hotel met my expectations; the facilities and services were good. The self-checkout was quick and easy. The only reason I'm not giving a full score is because I left a banana peel and hoped it would be taken out the next morning, so I put up the 'change towels' magnet. However, when I returned in the evening, there was a bag outside my door with fresh towels, but no one had actually entered the room, so the trash wasn't removed."

"The hotel's location is excellent, right across from Kyoto Station, and only a three-minute walk from the nearest station entrance. It's a large hotel that also accommodates tour groups, so the lobby can get quite busy during check-in and check-out times. However, there are plenty of staff members on hand, especially at the concierge. The luggage storage service is particularly convenient, with a dedicated storage room and supervised by staff – a really well-managed feature. Another great perk is that every floor has a water dispenser and ice maker, making it very easy to get water and ice. The only downside is that there's no self-service laundry facility; you have to pay for a laundry service. The hotel rooms are also quite spacious. Highly recommended!"

"I recently stayed at this hotel in Kyoto and overall had a wonderful experience. The room itself was generally clean, comfortable, and provided a relaxing space after a long day of sightseeing.The highlight of my stay was definitely the breakfast. The buffet offered a great selection, especially the freshly made onigiri and the delicious local obanzai (traditional Kyoto-style side dishes) which tasted fantastic. Additionally, all of the staff members were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our visit.The only disappointing part of our stay was the cleanliness of the bathroom. It appeared that a previous guest had trimmed their beard, leaving a lot of short hairs all over the sink. Worse, there were hairs left on top of the plastic rinsing cups provided for brushing teeth. It was clear this area had been missed during housekeeping.Despite the housekeeping oversight in the bathroom, the excellent service, delicious breakfast, and comfortable room made it a good stay. We would definitely like to stay here again in the future."

"Regarding the service, the front desk staff were quite cold upon my check-in on the first day, quite different from the hotel staff I encountered in the previous days. However, they were generally very meticulous in helping with check-in, luggage storage, and providing information about bike rentals. Still, it was a bit disappointing. The two staff members I encountered later were much more enthusiastic. The cleanliness was very disappointing. Based on the pictures and other recommendations, I had an impression of a high-end and wonderful place, but upon arrival, it felt very old. The cleanliness was truly subpar. On the way to my room, I could even see their messy kitchen. Both the public areas and the guest rooms were not very clean, with a lot of dust, water stains, and dirty spots on the floor. It felt like they weren't putting much effort into managing the place. Fortunately, the bedding and bathroom were relatively clean and acceptable. We couldn't get a consecutive room for our two-night stay and when I asked if they could help move our luggage to the second room, the request was denied, and I had to explain for a long time to a front desk staff member whose English wasn't very good. In terms of location, it's quite a walk, and a bit far from the most convenient Shijo Karasuma Station. Luckily, there's a bus stop right outside. However, Kyoto isn't very welcoming to carrying suitcases onto buses. There aren't many places to eat around the hotel at night, much quieter compared to the Kamo River area, but the upside is that it's much more peaceful. I heard Agora offers a unique matcha-making experience. I saw it on the day we checked out, and making matcha myself was quite fun. Most of the hotel guests are foreign tourists, and there are many tour groups. Overall, there's a significant gap compared to other hotels of similar price or class I've stayed at in Japan. I hope they can pay more attention to room and public area hygiene issues."

"This was a truly satisfying hotel experience. I doubt I could find a hotel this good at this price point easily. The staff were incredibly friendly, which was a huge plus. The room was clean, and the bed was wonderfully soft and comfortable. There was also plenty of space to open my suitcase without any issues. The hotel's location was great, with many restaurants nearby and two supermarkets right around the corner, plus a convenience store. It was perfect for grabbing late-night snacks or drinks. However, if you're planning to walk back and forth to areas like Kawaramachi or Sanjo, it might be a bit of a stretch. I would definitely want to stay here again, even if the price remained the same or increased slightly."

"I love the attitude of all the receptionists, they are super friendly and helpful. We can communicate easily in English. You can take free face mask and fruity fragrance 'bath soak powder' so you can relax your muscle in bathtub after walking 20k steps per day😅. There is bathrobe but only got free size, suite me. Nearby has train stations, 7eleven, and Family Mart. The bed is small but we 170cm tall 100kg and 70kg can sleep comfortably."
