Coming to Kunming Paperman, I realized just how competitive hotel service can be! Let's start with the human touch: 1. They set up a WeChat group for butler service; upon arrival, the butler met me downstairs. 2. A beautiful welcome flower basket. 3. Whether I was out or in the evening, they'd let me pre-select afternoon tea snacks and deliver them to my room. 4. When I accidentally scraped my foot outside, they quickly provided iodine swabs and Yunnan Baiyao adhesive bandages. 5. I unknowingly left my bracelet in the restaurant in the morning; when I reported it at 10 PM, the butler team returned it to my room in 13 minutes – incredibly efficient and well-organized. 6. They proactively offered daily linen and duvet cover changes. 7. Every time I passed the front desk or saw hotel staff, they were always smiling and greeted me warmly. 8. Breakfast was available until 1 PM, plus afternoon tea and late-night snacks, truly allowing for sleep flexibility and no worries about food. Now for the hardware and details: 1. Full set of caviar toiletries – excellent to use. 2. The vanity came equipped with cotton facial towels, mouthwash, earplugs, etc. 3. Dyson hairdryer; after washing my hair with caviar shampoo, it was so smooth I didn't even need a comb. 4. Truly blackout electric curtains. 5. The latex memory foam pillow was genuinely comfortable. 6. Both the overhead rain shower and wall-mounted shower could be selected to run simultaneously with a button; the temperature was stable and water flow abundant, making showering a real pleasure. 7. The rooftop infinity pool is great for photos, and the design and decor of the restaurant and floors are thoughtfully done... There's so much more I could write; it's got everything a star-rated hotel room service should have. The only flaw was an uncontrollable power outage in the evening, leading to the elevators being out of service for several tens of minutes? But all things considered, that's completely insignificant. I love this level of competitive hotel service, and I'll definitely choose Paperman again next time I'm in Kunming!

This is the second time I’ve booked this hotel and also the second time I’m impressed with the hotel service. I’ve touched down Kunming too early and since I’m tired from late night flight, I head straight to the hotel after I’ve landed although I understand check in cannot be so early. The concierge was nice to allow me and my partner to enjoy breakfast (we booked stay with breakfast) while waiting for guests to check out as their hotel was fully booked. Right after our breakfast, the concierge saw us and quickly chased up the cleaning staff to tidy up the room asap so guests can check in earlier. I appreciate their thoughtfulness in this and was lucky to check in in the morning although the stated check-in time is 2pm. I also appreciate the cleaning staff attentiveness to us as we prefer the room to be clean up every 2 days instead of daily. (We book 4 nights there). She keeps checking in with us as she is worried we run out of drinking water, tissue paper, toilet roll and clean towel almost every morning. On our last day, we came back to our room around late afternoon and she thoughtfully hang a laundry bag filled with drinking water bottles and even new pack of tissue on our door. (We leave do not disturb button on while we went out.) The hotel staff at lobby was also very attentive when we get out of Didi outside in the rain, he runs towards us with umbrella to shield us from rain. I also enjoy hotel breakfast very much as I arrived in Kunming with weak stomach and needed non spicy and easy food to ingest. They provided a great range of food that suits foreigners, children and even sick adults like me. Thank you Dianyu Yunling, I know I can trust this hotel’s service level and will return to this hotel again for my next Kunming trip!

Location is a big plus here — right next to the convention center, a shopping mall with tons of dining and shopping options, and DiDaDi outdoor theme park is literally just outside the hotel. The kids loved it and kept themselves busy the whole time. Rooms were great and the outdoor bathtub was a nice bonus. We had a minor hiccup with the AC going out overnight, but the manager was super responsive and got us moved to a new room without any hassle since the technician wasn’t around over the weekend. Really appreciated that. Free breakfast and supper are both included, and honestly both were really good — plenty of variety and everything tasted great. Oh, and don’t sleep on the hotel’s rooftop photo shoot. The views up there are stunning and it’s a proper must-do during your stay. All in all, a really enjoyable stay. Highly recommend!

I booked this hotel because I had an early morning flight. They offer an airport shuttle service every 30 minutes, which is super convenient. The front desk staff was amazing! Even though my room didn't include breakfast, they gave me a small pastry, an egg, and milk when I was checking out and getting on the shuttle to the airport. They also called me in advance to remind me about the shuttle service. Highly recommend!

This Atour hotel seems to be a renovated property, as some of the furniture looks a bit dated. However, I always choose Atour for their incredibly comfortable mattresses and pillows, and this stay was no exception! The location is excellent, very close to Cuihu Park with plenty of dining options nearby, making it super convenient. We had a family room, and the kids slept soundly on the big bed. There are also local breakfast spots in the surrounding alleyways, which gives you a real taste of the local life. Late check-out until 2 PM was also a nice bonus.

I arrived at Changshui International Airport late at 2:15 a.m. I called the hotel’s customer service to request an airport pickup. They responded quickly, and the driver arrived about 10 minutes after the booking was confirmed. The room was spacious, but it had a slight smell because it was a smoking room, even though I had requested a non-smoking room during booking. The next morning, I had breakfast, which was good, and we departed from the hotel to the airport at 8:00 am sharp. Overall it was a good stay, staffs are friendly and helpful.

This hotel is incredibly convenient for catching high-speed trains or using the subway. There are plenty of snack options nearby, and directly opposite the hotel is Bailongtan Park, which offers beautiful scenery and fresh air—perfect for an evening stroll after dinner. The service was excellent; they even helped us with our luggage because we had so much, and they recommended a fantastic mushroom hotpot restaurant. The room's cleanliness was exceptional, truly exceeding our expectations. We had a very comfortable stay and would definitely choose this place again if we have the chance!

We are Americans from Hong Kong and traveled to Kunming for our Easter holiday. The positives of this hotel: 1. it was beautiful. The design and furnishings were very well done and the room itself was exceptionally clean. 2. The owners were so kind. We arrived way after the tea time hour, but they still provided our family with cappuccinos and fresh fruit, free of charge. Both were delicious and our children were so excited about the gourmet coffee art. 3. The mattress in the main bed area was very comfortable. Not a typical “hard” mattress like many hotels in China. Another bonus: it was actually a KING size, which we rarely see outside the US! 4. The breakfast was Chinese style and the rice noodles were delicious! The hotel also had a beautiful courtyard area to eat outside. A few items to be aware of: 1. although the hotel was in a neighborhood near the lake, the neighborhood itself was a bit strange. We could tell it was meant to be a beautiful, well-to-do neighborhood of modern villas, but more than half the neighborhood was unused and/or under construction so it wasn’t as lively feeling in the evening because it was so dark and desolate seeming. It was beautiful in the daylight though! 2. This is not a big hotel chain, just an independent boutique style hotel operating in one of these villas. 3. There are no optimal eating spots near the hotel. You have to take a 20-30 minute Didi (taxi) ride to the nearest area with a lot of restaurants. However, if you like street food, there is a street food carnival area about 10 minutes away via walking (walk north along boardwalk bordering the lake.) Overall, because of the kindness of the owners, the cleanliness and modernity, delicious breakfast, and comfortable mattress, we would definitely choose this hotel again for a one-night stopover.

The room is pretty decent and big. There's just a bit of noise as the room I got is next to a room being renovated, but it is only during the daytime. The best thing for me aside from the beautiful view, big room, and big bed is the smart toilet (I specifically check for places with bidet for my stays, and this place got a high-tech one). The hotel and cold water are also great. I appreciate that the toilet, sink, and shower are separate. The staff are all kind and helpful. I got an issue with my DiDi account and need to book one for my scheduled tour, and the staff on duty gladly helped me book one paying for it and said I could just settle the payment later, and even escorted me to the DiDi and let the driver know I don't speak the language and to get me safely to the location. The other staff also helped me with my WeChat, which helped a lot during my whole stay in China. The only con that I can say (if you are specific with location) is that it is not that close with the usual tourist spots like the Kunming Old Street, but it is close to the South Railway station (Kunmingnan). This is not a big con for me as I actually enjoyed the nearby malls and alleys. This is one of the good stuff here as well. It is on top of a mall, and just across the place is also a place to go shopping (for clothes, food, restaurants). There's a big supermarket/department store in the next door mall too. It also gets lively at night. Overall, personally, I find this a great place to stay in Kunming.

We stayed at Bai Nian Sheng Shi Hotel (Kunming Changshui International Airport) before our departure, and it was a good choice for a short stay. The hotel is located only about 10 minutes from Kunming Changshui International Airport. The road leading to the hotel was quite rough due to construction work during our stay. It appeared to be the main access road used by many vehicles, so don’t be surprised by the condition of the road. The room is a little old, but it was very clean, comfortable, and affordable. If you're looking for a place to rest for a few hours or stay overnight before an early morning or late-night flight, this hotel is an excellent option. The surrounding environment is peaceful and has a countryside feel. We enjoyed waking up to the sounds of chickens, the fresh air, and the pleasant fragrance of flowers, which was a nice contrast to the busy airport nearby. The hotel also provides complimentary bottled mineral water, and if you don't want to go out for a meal, you can enjoy a steamboat dinner at the hotel's own restaurant. The hotel owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. She provides a free airport shuttle service according to a scheduled timetable and even helped us carry our luggage, which made the transfer very convenient. Overall, Bai Nian Sheng Shi Hotel offers excellent value for money. The friendly hospitality, free airport shuttle, clean rooms, and peaceful surroundings make it a great choice for travelers needing a convenient stay near Kunming Airport.
