"Chose this hotel just to experience a stay inside historical building 😄 Hotel was built in 1930s and is certified as “Heritage architecture” of Shanghai. Very beautiful art-deco style building and matching room interiors. Rooms are exceptionally clean with all amenities available. I had a spacious room of about 30 sq.m with a comfortable king-size bed and shower (no bath tube). Location is exceptional - 5 minute walk to either The Bund or Nanjing Road with a lot of restaurants and shops around. The closest metro station is East Nanjing Road, which is at 7-10 minute walking distance. A view on Oriental Pearl Tower across the river is literally around the corner. However, staying at a historical building in the city center comes at a price 😅 The building is almost a century old and plumbing and ventilation definitely seen better days. Water pressure in the shower is rather weak and toilet flush isn’t good either. Mosquitoes or some other small flying insects might come from ventilation (though you can use a fumigator provided by hotel). The worst thing about my stay: on the day of my arrival and check-in there was some filming taking place in front of the hotel. They were shooting a commercial or a drama series scene right on the steps to the entrance so it was really difficult to navigate with luggage even with the help of hotel staff. There were a lot of people, both the crew and onlookers, and equipment and vehicles, so my taxi couldn’t get close to hotel and I had to drag my luggage through the crowd. On top of that it was my birthday and I was really anticipating a relaxing evening which didn’t happen due to all the commotion. I think hotel should have contacted me by email or via Trip com to inform about film shooting so I could adjust my time of arrival."

RRachMThe second time as this location. Firstly, love the Mercure hotel lines: the rooms are always spacious, lots of space to freely open up your suitcase. The bathroom is clean and has a bidet. This hotel’s location is not too far from the city. Good food places around to order from. They have 3 Robots that brings your food for you. And the staff are very lovely and welcoming!

GGuest UserThe room was more spacious than I'd imagined, and the view from the window was quite nice, with Jing'an Temple visible in the distance. The walk-through area in the room was just wide enough to open a suitcase, leaving little extra space, but it was perfectly fine for a solo trip. Soundproofing in the room wasn't great; noises from outside the door were quite clear (though this is a common drawback of hostels). This might be an issue for light sleepers. Transportation is incredibly convenient, as it's only about a three-minute walk from the subway station, which really helps save on travel expenses. **Cleanliness:** The shared bathrooms were exceptionally clean; an attendant would clean them immediately after each use, which was very reassuring. **Service:** Upon arrival, a staff member showed me to my room and introduced the facilities. The lobby offered quite a few amenities; I recall there was an ice machine, and I even borrowed an umbrella from the front desk when it rained during my stay. Overall, I was very satisfied and would happily choose to stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai.

XXavier XiaoHaving stayed at numerous Ritz-Carlton properties across China, the Ritz-Carlton Pudong is the only one I've felt compelled to return to so swiftly after my initial stay. Our second visit was particularly special, as we brought along our most cherished family members to celebrate my mother's 60th milestone birthday there. It was truly the exceptionally positive first experience that immediately convinced my wife and me to entrust this significant life event for my mother to the Ritz-Carlton Pudong. This subsequent visit, true to form, did not disappoint. Before check-in, we contacted the hotel's Guest Relations department to explain our occasion and made a few modest requests regarding the birthday arrangements. The hotel staff were incredibly patient and meticulously arranged everything for us. A special commendation goes to Jerry and Jeremy from the hotel. On our arrival day, they had thoughtfully prepared a beautiful birthday bouquet to present to my mother. My mother was utterly moved by the hotel's genuine warmth and attention, almost to tears. A delicate mini birthday cake and a heartfelt handwritten card were also thoughtfully placed in our room. My mother exclaimed how truly thoughtful and caring it all was. ❤️ I truly believe an outstanding hotel is defined not merely by its prime location, opulent environment, or the sophistication of its room amenities. It is, more profoundly, about the dedicated and professional staff, exemplified by Jerry and Jeremy. They serve every guest with heartfelt sincerity, addressing even the smallest request with utmost professionalism and responsibility, ensuring every resident's needs are met. This genuine commitment profoundly touches guests, fostering a true sense of belonging – a feeling of being genuinely at home, truly valued, and deeply cared for. With such an exceptional and professional service team, we will undoubtedly and consistently choose the Ritz-Carlton Pudong for our future stays. Genuine sincerity always leaves a lasting impression!

GGuest UserSuper convenient! Had a great experience! The hotel is conveniently located just inside the entrance on the right side of the departure level at Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 (T2). Hotel guests spending over 200 RMB receive a complimentary security fast-track pass. (Don't let them upsell you on an extra 'fast pass' – their quoted price was even higher than what I found on various booking platforms). However, this security gate only opens at 6 AM, so it's not suitable for very early flights. After clearing security, you'll find yourself near the China Eastern Airlines lounge (as seen in picture 1) and Gate 50. Walking to gates in the 20s and 30s is quite a distance, taking about 10 minutes. Tips: 1. Remember to check in at least 40 minutes before your flight. 2. If you have checked baggage, you can drop it off at the counters after 10 PM the night before. These baggage drop-off counters are conveniently located about 200 meters in front of the hotel.

XXixiheniuFor our summer trip, after a week of researching hotels near Disneyland, we ultimately chose this one due to its excellent value. It offers a direct shuttle service to Disneyland. Crucially, for those driving, there's also complimentary parking available. The hotel thoughtfully upgraded us to a family room and provided kids' slippers and toiletries. We were also pleasantly surprised to discover they offer a shuttle service to Pudong Airport. For early risers, they even prepared convenient grab-and-go breakfast options. We only later found out that the hotel also features a late-night buffet. (Quick tip for Disneyland: instead of various advance passes, a regular early-bird ticket bought through official channels, usually around 100+ RMB, is often sufficient.)

GGuest UserThe room's decor was fairly standard, but that wasn't the main highlight. What truly made my stay was the in-room pool and the breathtaking river view from the window. Especially at night, soaking in the pool, gazing at the cityscape lights reflecting on the river, paired with a bottle of red wine 🍷 – that's when I truly felt what luxurious living is all about. On another note, it's great that the pool water can be changed on demand. And get this – breakfast is served from 7 AM all the way until 12 PM! Can you believe such a thoughtful schedule? It was absolutely perfect for late risers like me. The breakfast spread was incredibly rich, and they even offered à la carte options, which truly highlighted their customer-centric approach. The staff service was consistently excellent and very comprehensive. My only minor (and purely personal) feedback is that the room's warm-toned lighting felt a bit too dim; I personally prefer brighter illumination. Overall, however, this stay was a resounding success.

AAnonymous UserThe Grandeur Hotel: An Exceptional Stay, All Thanks to Cindy's Heartfelt Service! We originally booked The Grandeur Hotel for its stunning aesthetics, but we were completely won over by the exceptional service from Cindy at the front desk. She wasn't just doing her job; thoughtfulness was simply ingrained in her nature. Every detail felt like she had anticipated our needs, and from the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were enveloped in such warmth that all our travel fatigue instantly vanished! The moment we reached the front desk, Cindy greeted us with a warm, energetic smile and a gentle yet vibrant voice. ”Hello there! I see you've just arrived with your luggage. Why don't you have a glass of water and relax for a bit? There's no rush for check-in,” she said, handing us two bottles of water – we were absolutely parched! While efficiently processing our check-in, she quietly told me, ”I'll be your personal concierge during your stay. Please add me on WeChat; I'll prepare a 'local's secret guide' just for you!” Within minutes, she sent us transportation routes and opening hours for popular attractions, even highlighting ”the best times to visit to avoid crowds.” She meticulously listed ”local snack stalls frequented by residents, where tourists won't get ripped off” near the attractions, and even added a note: ”That pan-fried bun stall opens at 7 AM; if you go too late, they'll be sold out.” Following her recommendations, we successfully avoided long queues and enjoyed incredibly authentic local snacks – her guide was a hundred times more practical than anything we found online! What touched us most was that when we checked out, Cindy was already on duty again. She very gently asked if we were satisfied with our stay. To be honest, the hotel's ambiance itself was already ”grand and splendid” – crystal chandeliers in the lobby cast a warm glow, the lounge chairs exuded a sense of design, and our room offered stunning night views of the Huangpu River. It was both comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. But what truly made this stay ”exceed our expectations” was Cindy's service. She didn't just mechanically go through the motions of check-in and answering questions; she genuinely paid attention to guests' needs, anticipating and addressing unspoken concerns as thoughtfully as an old friend. If The Grandeur Hotel is a ”visually stunning hidden gem,” then Cindy is the brightest jewel within it. Next time we're in town, we will absolutely choose this hotel again. Not for anything else, but purely for Cindy's heartwarming service – it's reason enough to return! We've already recommended the hotel and Cindy's thoughtful service to all our friends planning to visit this area. Who could resist a front desk agent who delivers service straight from the heart, and a hotel full of pleasant surprises at every turn!

TTOBACCOVANILLEThis hotel used to be Senz spa hotel, now became Double tree by Hilton. Because I enjoyed the spa and massage facilities last time I stayed I missed the massage used to be offered by this hotel but other than that I liked this hotel a lot. Very clean and slightly high ceiling in the room makes everything very comfortable and relaxing. The breakfast is kind of usual standard for this type of hotel but this hotel is directly connected to an excellent shopping street called Lidoway where I could find a lot of restaurants and bars just outside of the hotel. Highly recommended for those who are looking for relaxing stay close to Hongqiao airport and EXPO area in Qingpu

GGuest User I was referred to stay at the Andaz Hotel by a friend who has lived in Shanghai for a long time. There are two points that are particularly commendable: first, the pool has a female lifeguard who is very responsible and attentive, remaining focused and diligent while on duty. Second, the hotel breakfast is quite generous, and the staff provided thoughtful service. In addition, I would like to share some other feedback. I booked interconnected rooms for four nights, hoping that our family of three would have a comfortable and pleasant stay. The room was very spacious—even beyond expectations with the inclusion of an exercise bike. However, the main bedroom TV consistently failed to connect to iQiyi and Youku, which was very disappointing and the biggest letdown of this experience. On the first night, maintenance staff found that there wasn’t even a set-top box installed, making it impossible to watch the series we were following. Although it was reconnected on the second night, during playback the TV screen would go black every few seconds. This issue persisted throughout the remaining three nights. From the second to the fifth day, another maintenance technician inspected the system. On the third day, he claimed to have spent two hours in my room and found no abnormalities (that day, I left the room for breakfast at 9:15 AM and returned at 10:35 AM, running into him in the elevator). He informed me that the TV network was functioning properly, yet the issue remained—there was sound, but the screen went blank every few seconds. We spent a significant amount of time in the hotel over the past five days due to a family member not feeling well, so we stayed in the room most of the day and only went out in the evening. Therefore, lying in the main bedroom watching anime was supposed to be one of our most enjoyable family moments. This TV issue significantly diminished our overall experience. Even though on the day of checkout, a female staff member politely offered three chocolates to my son, it could not make up for our disappointment and regret. Another major issue was that there were no towels provided in the pool changing room. I had to collect them from the front desk before entering. On one occasion, after showering, my towel fell onto the wet floor, and I had no way to get a clean replacement. Although the room was spacious and the breakfast was excellent, given the room rate of over RMB 4,000 per night, I believe there are better options in Shanghai than the Andaz. For future trips to Shanghai to visit relatives or sightseeing, it is highly unlikely I will choose to stay at this hotel again.
