The location is fantastic, right in the Guanqian Street business district with plenty of great food options nearby. The hotel is integrated with the Youngor Commercial building, and the lobby is on the third floor. Although check-in is officially at 2 PM, they let us check in early, just after 12 PM. We originally booked a business twin room, but seeing we had a child, they upgraded us to a family room. The room was very nice, although it faced Gong Lane, which could be a bit noisy at night. After checking out, we were still sightseeing, so we stored our luggage at the hotel. The service was excellent.

## Environment
The hotel boasts a very clean and well-maintained environment. It's conveniently located right next to the South Gate of the ancient city, with a private side entrance allowing direct access to the ancient city by simply swiping your room card, making sightseeing incredibly easy.

## Facilities
The facilities are designed with guest comfort at heart. Highlights include automatic curtains, self-flushing toilets, and motion-activated room lights that illuminate automatically upon entry – incredibly convenient. The hairdryer and shower are also very comfortable and convenient to use.

## Service
The service was fantastic! They offer complimentary airport pick-up and drop-off. On my first day, due to a flight delay, I arrived close to 11 PM, but to my surprise, staff were still on duty. They personally came to the entrance to help with my luggage and swiftly arranged my room. A complimentary fruit platter was provided upon check-in, free beverages were replenished daily, and complimentary afternoon tea was offered every day – these were wonderful touches. Any requests were consistently and promptly addressed.

## Hygiene
Both the rooms and corridors were clean and tidy. Despite a hotel water feature, there were virtually no mosquitoes, and I was told the water is changed monthly. The hotel also houses a sika deer, which is well cared for by dedicated staff; even its enclosure was remarkably clean.

## Overall
My stay was excellent, and I would definitely consider staying here again.

Tancheng Hotel Shanghai / Arula Hotel located near Fudan University, this is my first time staying in Tancheng Hotel Shanghai visiting my daughter in Fudan university. the hotel room was big and has spacious lobby. Linda was very helpful and can speak English fluently so can assist me very well. other staff also very helpful. one plus thing they have paid washing machine so i can do our dirty laundry.
next time I'm visiting my daughter i will stay in Tancheng hotel shanghai again.
