"The rooms are exactly how it was displayed on the web. You got towels, refrigerator, hairdryer, and water heater pot, but no tea or coffee at the room. They provide slippers, toothbrush etc that you can take home. Wifi is good too. My room was overseeing the road but not too noisy. The Hotel front door is closed at 00 - 06, but you can open it with your key.
For it's price of ~10,000 yen/2 person, it's a very proper hotel, better than paying the same price for hostels next to Kyoto Station. It's 1km/15 min walk, bearable with small-mid suitcase. Receptionist understands English but it wasn't exactly needed."

"Location: Excellent location. About 800m from Kyoto Station. You can walk through an indoor connected mall and station, making it safe and convenient even with luggage.
Cleanliness: The bed is comfortable and the toilet is very clean.
Service: Staff are a mix of Japanese and international, able to speak both English and Japanese.
Facilities: Lifts are fast and responsive. Water dispenser available, please bring your own bottle.
Convenience: Very well equipped. AEON Mall is 100m away and Lawson is 200m away.
Overall: The hotel uses central air conditioning, which may not be ideal if you prefer a colder room. However, the hotel provided a Dyson portable fan, which made the room comfortable and allowed for good sleep. Well done Miyako Hotel. I will definitely return."

"Nijo Castle is within walking distance. The hotel entrance and lobby are spacious and clean. Breakfast is a unique Japanese bento box style. There's a Lawson convenience store and a shopping street right next door, with plenty of restaurants. The hotel's biggest highlight is the extensive manga collection; you can borrow up to 20 volumes to read in your room. It's truly enjoyable!"

"Nice, calm and compact hotel situated in a neighborhood (no traffic sounds). Very comfortable beds 🛌, I had a great sleep. Friendly staff. Unfortunately the hotel doesn’t offer anything except of the most basic necessities (amenities), but for sleeping over it is good enough. Walkable distance to the imperial palace park, walkable to the centre, very good location. The room(s) could use deeper cleaning of the dust in the rooms (see pictures)."

"I had breakfast at the hotel for three days straight, and it was the exact same every morning – no changes. The overall taste was decent, though. The biggest plus is definitely the location, which is super convenient. However, I really wasn't a fan of the Japanese-style decor. My main complaint is that my window faced a wall, so I couldn't open the curtains to get any sunlight, which I really disliked. Also, the bathroom design was a bit odd; the toilet lid kept opening on its own. On the bright side, the hotel offers a lot of activities daily, which is a nice touch. Outside the hotel, you're right by the Kamo River, so you can enjoy a very pleasant stroll along the riverside."

"Stayed at the Mitsui Garden Hotel Kawaramachi Jokyoji from 20-24 Dec. This was my 2nd stay there in 2 consecutive months, despite there being hundreds of hotels in Kyoto.
Location: the hotel is located in the city center with Nishiki Market and Teramachi indoor shopping street located very closeby. Kawaramachi is also a big commercial street lined with plethora of shops and malls. Train stations within walking distance.
Hotel Facilities and Amenities: this is a very beautiful hotel next to a temple (and small cemetery). The rooms are exemplary clean and quite spacious for Japan’s standard. Many facilities such as a public onsen, on-site restaurant, vending machine, ice machine, etc. No gym, which is not a big deal at all if you are in Kyoto for a short tourist visit. You will be doing a lot of walking anyway if you choose to.
I only visited the on-site restaurant for dinner once. The food was okay, but nothing to write home about. Service staff was accommodating (I had to use a wheelchair at the time); however, service was lackluster otherwise.
Hotel staff service: cannot praise the service by the hotel staff enough. This time around, I had injured my foot and couldn’t walk for 2 days. I was touched by the staff’s incredible kindness - they went out of their way to really help me out.
Overall: if you want city center location with easy access to modern shops and an array of restaurants within walking distance, big and super clean room, and great hospitality, I’d highly recommend this hotel."

"I loved my stay at POCKET hotel and I can totally recommend!! Super well equipped room and installation, very modern and located close to Kyoto main train station and tourist highlights. Very easy to reach everything by foot without need to take a bus or the subway.
The hotel was very modern, and the staff was really lovely and accommodated my request for a quiet room without a problem. I was so comfortable that I extended my stay one more night and I would definitely come back. Breakfast is included in the price."

"A very standard Fresa Inn. If you're a member, you can check in at 2 PM and check out at 12 PM. The room is more than enough for one person, and all the amenities are provided. The staff's English is quite good, and they even have a handheld translation device.
Exiting the hotel, turn right, and you'll find Exit 4 of Shijo Subway Station, with a very convenient elevator entrance. Turn left, and you're at Daimaru Department Store. To go to Osaka, you can take the Hankyu Railway directly, no need to go to Kyoto Station first.
Fresa Inn is my favorite business hotel brand in Japan, highly recommended!"
