The location of the Hotel isn't that convenient to go to, so it's recommend to look at their shuttle bus timing or simply book an Uber to ride up the hill.
Each room that you book also comes with a 1x free visit to the outdoor Spa facilities so I highly suggest you to bring a swim wear to go as it's pretty good even at night time.
As for the room it's spacious like other reviews photos have shown but not a lot of people have shown the bathroom/toilet so I'm including it here. It's a very spacious Toilet with the bathtub that has the Onsen water, and the shower head beside the bathtub.

I stayed at the Beitou Reizhi Tang for one night. The exterior is a simple, old-style hotel. The room's cleanliness was acceptable. There's no elevator, so you have to take the stairs, which are a bit uneven – easy to make a mistake if you're not paying attention 😅. The room door uses an old-fashioned key for entry and exit. The room has a Japanese style, with a decorative window that doesn't open. The soundproofing isn't great; you can clearly hear people walking upstairs late at night, and the drainpipe noises are also quite audible. Other than that, everything else was acceptable. The hotel staff also provide shuttle service to the MRT station and were very courteous. Overall, it was an acceptable stay.

- there is a water stain on the floor of room 703, which I believe that it is lasting for a long time and they didnt fix it, still use for renting.
- They promise to change room or at least add a tower there to ”temporarily fix” it but none of this option are made

I've stayed here once, so i booked again to experience. Service is okay, they said check-out time is 11, at 11am they didn't call me, or even knock the door, then at 12:00, they knocked the door to ask me check-out with an unsatisfied face, and I got the message that i check out late so i have to pay 200 late fee, they didn't even tell me that before. I forgot my stuffs there, but they didn't even text me or call me.
Plus, the room was super cold, i tried to turn off the AC, or change to fan or increase the temperature, didn't work.

Hotel gives the Japanese onsen vibes and looks new and modern. Staff were extremely polite, greeting you everytime u come and leave the hotel. Location slightly further uphill which gives you a sense of peace, away from the bustling town. Town is small so quite walkable to all attractions. Onsen in the room was very comfortable. Only downside is no curtains which separate the toilet and room.

I had a pleasant and relaxing stay at Chyuan Du Spring Resort.
The room was comfortable and spacious, with good amenities and a cozy layout. I especially appreciated the private hot spring bath in the room, which allowed me to enjoy the experience in privacy. Housekeeping was efficient and the room was kept tidy throughout my stay.
The staff were friendly, polite, and always ready to assist with any requests. The Doorman was very helpful and recommended places for us to visit. Their warm hospitality made the stay even more enjoyable. Check-in and check-out were smooth and hassle-free.

Very nice hotel for a couples weekend retreat outstanding service, breakfast was great. Room and overall hotel presentation clean and newly renovated. Bed was very comfortable. Own Spring Water bathtub and hotel also had its our in house onsen. Free shuttle bus.

There is no clean hot water instead of sulphur one if you are fine.
water heater is turn off at night around 1130pm tested 15 mins without hot one.
There is no other facilities in the resort.

The hotel is nice.. very convenient location.. Supermarket (Carrefour), restaurants, 地热谷, Beitou Hot Spring Museum, Taipei Public Library Beitou Branch (unique design), Xinbeitou Historic Station, all just walking distance.. Plus the hotel has own hot spring/onsen, we can relieve our tiredness/fatigue after daytime walking around.. Hotel breakfast is good too.. They provide variety types such ********* (卤肉饭，Oden etc) , bread & pastries, congee, dessert etc.. Overall is a good experience and totally recommended..

SStella_CThe location is amazing! From Taipei Main station exit Z2 or M6. Go to the building and reception is at level 5. Many food places nearby, including local and international chains, and Starbucks as well. Staff are generally friendly. However, we were plagued by mosquitoes in the room everyday and every night, had to keep fighting them. The air con control panel is a dud. It's actually central air conditioning yet they just told us it is slow to adjust. As a result we were freezing through the first part of the night then too warm for the 2nd part. When it gets too cold, even if we turn off the air con, we can feel the cold air continue to come out of the vents. When I asked if it's possible to change room, reception claimed they were fully booked. Not my best stay in Taiwan I'm afraid. I guess its great for those who prefer rooms constantly around 21-22 Celcius.

GGuest UserThe location is fantastic, right opposite the Y13 exit. First off, you'll need to climb stairs to reach the service counter as there's no elevator. The bathroom is en-suite, and they provide lockers. As for the bed setup, there's a small space at the head for personal items, and extra room at the foot of the bed for your luggage, backpack, and other belongings, which really helps create a more private feel. They offer a simple breakfast including toast, buns, shaomai, coffee, and tea.

Check in gets faster with your reply to the property telling them what type of room you have booked and what time you'll arrive. With booming businesses and too many bookings, the staff might get entangled in mess, so partially you reply is helping them to get grounded and avoid mistakes.
The property is clean, neat, nice and next to easy transport and family mart and 7e.

I had a great stay at Hotel PaPa Whale! The hotel's style is really unique and quirky, which makes it stand out from your typical business hotels. The location is absolutely fantastic. It’s just a short 7-minute walk to Ximen Station, making it super convenient to get around the city, and being right on the edge of Ximending means you're in the middle of all the action, shopping, and nightlife.
Location: You really can't beat it for exploring Taipei. The Ximending pedestrian area is literally a few minutes' walk away, so you're surrounded by endless food options. Whether you're looking for a late-night snack, trendy cafes, or authentic ********* street food, you'll find it all right on your doorstep. The proximity to the MRT station is a huge plus for day trips too.
Room & Atmosphere: The room was a decent size, especially for Taipei, and we had plenty of space for our luggage. The vibe is modern and playful. The most... memorable feature was definitely the large mirror on the ceiling above the bed. It certainly adds a fun, slightly ”kinky” twist to the room's atmosphere! It’s a bold design choice that fits the hotel's overall playful and unconventional personality.
Bathroom: One of the highlights was the bathroom. It was impressively large, very clean, and well-appointed, with good water pressure in the shower. It felt more like a boutique hotel bathroom than a standard city hotel one.
Overall: Hotel PaPa Whale is a solid 4-star experience. It combines a prime location, a clean and comfortable room with a fun twist, and a great bathroom. If you're looking for a memorable stay right in the heart of Taipei's most vibrant district, this is a fantastic choice. GGuest UserThis hotel is super convenient, just a 1-minute walk from Taipei Main Station's M2 exit. You can easily walk to Ningxia Night Market and Ximending in about 20 minutes, and even Dihua Street if you're up for it. Popular spots like Fuhang Soy Milk and Shuangyue Food Company are also within walking distance, so you'll have no trouble finding great food and shopping from morning till night.
The guest rooms are located on the 5th to 7th floors of a multi-purpose building. While the double bed takes up most of the room, making it quite compact, there's a small indoor balcony-like space at the back. It has a compact table and chairs, perfect for eating takeout, and enough room to open your suitcase.
