"The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the metro, and there's not much to eat nearby, only a couple of pizza places and a McDonald's, plus two or three small supermarkets. It takes about an hour to get to the city center by metro, and the metro signals often experience delays. For a couple of days, there was even no metro service at all. There are no self-service laundromats nearby, which is very inconvenient for longer stays."

"The stay experience was very satisfactory. The hotel environment is clean and quiet, the rooms are spacious and bright, the bedding is clean and comfortable, and the quality of sleep is very good. The front desk service is warm and professional, and check-in and check-out are very efficient. Convenient location, convenient dining and shopping around. The overall cost performance is high, I will choose here next time."

"During a recent warm spell we booked this hotel so we'd be close to our daughter's halls of residence. The air conditioning in the hotel room was very poor. It would not cool the room down. We heard the entire hotel lacks adequate air conditioning. I would say unless this is resolved soon the hotel should stop mentioning the rooms have air conditioning. On the positive side we were offered a couple of electric fans for use in our room."

"The room size was decent, but the carpet in the hallway had a really strong, pungent smell. Every time I stepped out, I felt like throwing up. It was truly awful. I hope they can use a better quality carpet."

"The hotel location is superb. It’s almost next to the tube station. Our room is at the top floor, there’s a bit of leg work. It’s ok for us coz we were not having huge luggage. When we got to the room, there was a strong stinky smell from toilet. Good that we immediately turned on the shower to wet the drainage. Room was good size for two and with WiFi. Unfortunately, the shower was super hot that I could not take a shower. We did not know if turning down the boiler helps with lowering the temperature of the water. Bedding were very clean! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very nice that this hotel stay comes with nice breakfast too."

"The facade is absolutely stunning, and the location is superb, right on a corner facing the square, directly opposite a church, and with a supermarket behind it. The dining street is just a minute's walk away. The metro is about a fifteen-minute walk. There's a bar right on the ground floor. It's quiet, and the front desk staff are incredibly nice. The only minor drawback is the elevator; it's quite old-fashioned – so old-fashioned that once it reaches your floor, you have to manually press the button again for the doors to open. It's actually quite charming in its own way!"

"Hotel 30-35 minutes from the city center by metro. The rooms are small but clean, except for the carpet full of crumbs and other debris. The kettle, as well as the bathroom dispensers, are caked on. Clean sheets and a comfortable bed. The lobby and rooms are clean. The quality and price are fair. A supermarket, metro, and a few restaurants are within walking distance. Overall, a good stay."

"The best part about the hotel is the location. It's quite close to the Tube and fairly central so it's easy to get around London and meet people. I also thought that the breakfast was good or good enough and the gym was also satisfactory. The one area I felt the hotel didn't meet my expectations was the small matter of being able to sleep. There is no meaningful air conditioning in the rooms and unfortunately the summer has been quite hot. If you are reading this in your room and it's 3 a.m. as you sweat and desperately try to work out whether or not it's something you've misunderstood about the controls or whether something is broken in your room (much like I did at 3 a.m. my first night), then let me assure you that it's not a you problem. The A/C simply doesn't work. It's just on the wall for show. In the three nights I stayed I slept about an hour and a half per night. After the first night I went to the front desk and raised my concern and they gave me a fan I could plug in. This was kind but also not sufficient. Here are a few tips for you should you decide you want to stay at the hotel in the summer: 1. One thing that worked for me first is to take a freezing cold shower before bed and then as you wake up in a pool of sweat every two to three hours take another freezing cold shower. 2. Another option that I tried was to sleep on the floor because the closer you get to the ground the cooler the air becomes. However it's questionable whether the change in temperature is worth being on that carpet. 3. A third option you might consider is to buy something frozen or if possible freeze a large watermelon or vegetable like a zucchini and sleep with it hugging it throughout the night. I unfortunately didn't think to try this but I would love to hear back if you try it and it works for you."

"The hotel is located a bit down an alley, which surprised me at first as I thought it was on the main road. The room was spacious enough for two suitcases and the air conditioning was excellent. However, the bathroom was quite old with peeling floor tiles. Breakfast was very basic, but it was included in the room rate so I didn't pay extra. The location is excellent; it's easy to find food, there are many supermarkets, and very affordable restaurants. You can even buy food and eat it in the lobby. At first, the area might seem a bit intimidating due to the casinos and bars, but there's nothing dangerous. Overall, it's a great location at a good price."

AAnonymous UserWe stayed at the Wilde Aparthotel Aldgate Tower Bridge for two nights at the end of August and had a rather underwhelming experience. We expected more from this hotel, judging by its ratings online. As Coldplay was in town (our reason for visiting London), prices were higher than average. The hotel is a five-minute walk from Aldgate East and about eight minutes from Aldgate Station. Liverpool Street Station is technically in walkable distance aswell, though taking the bus there is easier, with a stop right in front of the hotel. I wouldn’t recommend walking to Whitechapel for the Elizabeth Line – the walk felt long, annoying, and unsafe. Also, avoid walking further down the road toward McDonald’s after dark – sketchy atmosphere, and we saw two police scenes within those five mins of walking. Walking to Aldgate or Liverpool Street is safer. The arrival was.. odd. No one greeted us, and we waited in the lobby for several minutes before someone finally helped us at a not-so-clean high table. The staff member seemed demotivated and spoke very quietly, though check-in was quick. Unfortunately, we were charged twice despite prepaying nearly a year earlier through a third party. This was resolved after I spoke with the manager, but I was surprised it was marked as a “user error” on our invoice, and no small gesture like waiving the early check-in fee was offered for the inconvenience. We were given a room on the 9th floor. The corridors are dim, with black walls and stuffy air despite it being just 22 degrees outside. The “triple room” is simply too small for three adults. The storage areas under the twin beds is smart, and there is a small wardrobe with two drawers, but oddly no safe to store your valuables. A table and chair cramped the room unnecessarily and looked cheap compared to the rest. The sofa bed was decent but had a pretty thin mattress and annoying metal railings that can be a little annoying when standing up / lying down; there was also no nightstand, only a photo shelf right above it where you really can’t put anything. The kitchen area becomes very narrow once the sofa bed is pulled out. The fridge and sink were great, but the bins were tiny and filled up after just one day. The bathroom was also cramped, with practically no counter space. No toothbrush cups, Q-tips, or cotton pads were provided – unusual for a 4-star property. The soap dispenser was nearly empty and even fell out of its holder, and none of the dispensers were secured/locked, which isn’t hygienic (most hotels have that nowadays, for a reason!). We didn’t know where to go with dirty towels as there was no designated spot for them and no space. The heated towel holder being *right* next to the toilet is weird and inconvenient. We had the AC running for hours & hours on end, yet it barely managed to cool down the room to an acceptable temp. At least it was quiet enough to keep on at night. The TV had few channels but casting worked very well. Light controls were fine, and the blackout blinds were excellent– also essential, since the windows aren’t tinted from the outside. On the positive side, the room was clean, beds were comfortable, and it was quiet at night despite the hotel being full. We skipped breakfast as there are better options near Liverpool Street Station that we wanted to try out. All in all, our first ever stay at a Wilde property was just okay. The location is central but not particularly the nicest, the staff lacked warmth, and the triple room was way too small for three adults. It should not be sold as a triple for three adults and would be better suited for parents with a small child. I imagine the higher room categories might do a better job of accommodating three adults. We had what we needed; a clean room with good public transport connections. However, we wouldn’t stay here again as there’s better options out there.

EEhime OmokhodionI recently stayed at Novotel London Canary Wharf and it was one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences I’ve had in London. From the moment I checked in, the atmosphere felt modern, welcoming, and effortlessly comfortable. The highlight of the stay was definitely the view from my room. Waking up to the Canary Wharf skyline and watching the city lights come alive at night was incredible. The floor-to-ceiling windows made the entire room feel bright and spacious, and the panoramic cityscape gave the stay a real luxury feel. Another standout experience was visiting Bōkan, the hotel’s restaurant and rooftop bar. The views from up there are absolutely breathtaking , you get a stunning panoramic perspective of the whole of London, from Canary Wharf to landmarks across the city skyline. Whether during sunset or later in the evening, the atmosphere is unforgettable. The combination of great food, drinks, and those sweeping views made it one of the best parts of the trip. The hotel amenities were also excellent. The pool was clean and relaxing, perfect after a long day exploring or working in the city. The gym was well-equipped with everything needed for a proper workout, and the sauna added an extra touch of relaxation that really elevated the overall experience. Overall, Novotel London Canary Wharf delivers the perfect mix of comfort, modern luxury, amazing facilities, and spectacular London views. I’d happily stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Canary Wharf.

GGuest UserThis was the first hotel for our family's UK trip. After much deliberation, we chose this Holiday Inn Express which is quite close to the city center. The location is excellent, with easy access to the subway, buses, and trains. The hotel maintained the consistent quality of the Holiday Inn brand. We were also lucky enough to snag a group deal that included parking and some meals. A special thank you goes to Christina, a kind and patient lady who speaks Chinese. Due to the high demand for rooms on the weekend and our first-time use of a Ctrip hotel group coupon, the check-in process was a bit convoluted, but the final outcome was very satisfying. Our family left London happily to begin the next leg of our journey. BTW, we encountered many odd Indian guests; whether it was in the cramped elevator or at the popular breakfast buffet, they all exuded a strange confidence, as if they owned the place. I wonder who gave them that idea 🤔🤔🤔

GGuest UserFriendly staff, comfortable bed, pillow's a little too soft. Shower was a little grubby but was ok. Single room was plenty big enough for a single traveller. Breakfast was fine, although had to ask for fresh bacon not cooked so much as it was more than over cooked. Fridge in my room did not get cold and air con would not go below 19. Tube was a 5 minute walk away and 20-25 minute walk to Kensington Palace with lots of shops and restaurants around. If getting the National express and getting off on the Earl's court stop it is only a 5-10 minute walk on the same road

GGuest UserAmazing location, amazing service. It was my birthday and the room was decorated beautifully with complimentary drink and chocolate. Could not have asked for more. The only negative was the room was extremely hot which made is very uncomfortable to sleep. On the second night spoke to front desk and they advised to turn all air con/heating off and brought us a fan up so the second night slept like a baby in very comfortable beds. The pool area was beautiful but u fortunately we ran out of time but when we have another stay at the beautiful hotel we will certainly visit it.

BBoYanboThis is a 'decent' hotel. Yes, that's the word. The facilities aren't brand new, but the mattress in the room is still comfortable, the towels are still soft, the toilet paper is still thick, and the hygiene standards are consistently good. The breakfast is a classic English breakfast, meeting the expected standards for a four-star hotel. The location is excellent, situated in a wealthy area of London with very convenient transportation; the subway station is right next door. And the price, especially during the off-season, offers fantastic value for money. Backed by the Millennium Hotels Group and Singaporean capital, it's surprisingly good – the hotel's own restaurant serves authentic wonton noodles and Hainanese chicken rice! Plus, guests get discount coupons! If I had to summarize in one sentence, I'd say this is a well-managed, old-fashioned but not outdated hotel.

GGuest UserEven though it's far from central London, it's about a 15-minute walk to the tube station, and there's a bus stop right outside with frequent services. The hotel is basic, but for the price, it's excellent value for money. I would definitely stay here again. Breakfast is an extra £5.99, and it's absolutely worth it compared to prices in the area. The room was small but functional, with a new bathroom. The only minor issue was that when we arrived at Britannia Inn, they directed us to another hotel (Park Hotel) from the same group, about 500m away.
