Hotels near Namdaemun Gate, Seoul

It was super clean! There were already a few towels in the room, but they also said we could grab more from the front desk, so we never ran out of towels. Leaving our luggage at the unstaffed front desk felt a bit nerve-wracking, but it was fine in the end, haha. If you need to ask the front desk anything, you can just call them. They spoke Japanese, so it's a great option even if you don't speak Korean!

The location is convenient, but if you have luggage, it's a bit of a hike up the hill. We checked in a little early. There's an elevator, the room is clean, and you can leave your luggage.

The service was excellent, and the location was fantastic, very close to both the subway station and the commercial district. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next visit. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful; they even went the extra mile to dry and fold clothes forgotten in the laundry room. A quick tip for future guests: if you have many devices, remember to bring a power strip as there's only one wall outlet. All in all, a truly great experience!

The room was spotless and well-maintained. Although there wasn't a window, the ventilation system was excellent, with efficient exhaust in the bathroom and effective dehumidification. The lighting and temperature controls were easy to use. The soundproofing in the room was superb. Breakfast was exquisite and delicious; while the variety wasn't vast, the quality was top-notch. The location is incredibly convenient, right next to Sejong-daero and Sungnyemun. From the room, you get a direct view of Gwanghwamun, and Myeongdong and Lotte Department Store are just a 5-minute walk away. City Hall Station on Subway Line 2 and various bus routes are also easily accessible. The service was outstanding; the staff were dedicated and had strong multilingual capabilities.

Honestly, a very good hotel! It’s located a brisk 10mins walk from dongdaemun station and jongno-5-ga. No steep hills or stairs to climb (except for the metro stations). There is also an Olive Young down the street and a few restaurants. If you are not used to the sounds of the city it’s best to bring some earplugs as the main street going past the hotel can be a little noisy. The hotel itself is great! Friendly staff, clean rooms and well decorated. The views are the best and if you get a corner room can even see the sunrise over the hills! 10/10 would recommend this hotel!!

The location is excellent. Namsan Market is right across the street, Lotte Department Store and Duty-Free Shop are just a block to the left, and Shinsegae Department Store and Duty-Free Shop are diagonally across the street. Myeongdong shopping street is located between the two department stores. Gyeongbokgung Palace is within 3 km, and N Seoul Tower is also very close. For dining, just turn left and then left again from the hotel exit, and you'll find a street with local restaurants. However, the service is very basic. Disposable items in Korea are charged separately, and the toilet and shower are combined in one space. The wardrobe is inside a garment care machine, and detergent for the drum washing machine needs to be purchased extra. Luggage storage is in lockers in the basement, costing 10,000 Korean Won for over 4 hours with a progressive rate. There's no breakfast, and although there's a Chinese restaurant next door offering a 13,800 won set meal, no one seems to eat there. Guests are diverse, with a majority being Chinese. Rooms facing the street are relatively quiet, but the single beds are a bit small. Communication with the front desk in English was seamless.

This is the first time I've stayed in such a comfortable guesthouse in Korea, it's truly amazing! I came with a friend and she kept praising my booking, which made me so happy. I'll definitely keep this place in mind and bring my family here next time.

If you're still on the fence about this hotel, I can tell you: book it now while there are still rooms available, or you'll miss out! We've stayed in three other hotels on previous trips, so we have something to compare it to. This hotel is super! The location couldn't be better, with three metro lines intersecting here, and direct access to the airports without transfers. Plus, absolutely everything you need is nearby! For the ladies, there's even night shopping on the lower floors of the building. The owner is a genius, having thought of every little detail. The room has everything you could possibly need, even washing powder and a machine if you want to do laundry. The room is warm, the beds are comfortable, everything is very clean, and it smells wonderful. All in all, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it! Highly recommended!!! Super hotel!!!

This guesthouse has such a warm and friendly vibe. My child left their phone on the airport shuttle, and the owner was incredibly helpful. She personally took us to the police station to file a report and made numerous calls, eventually helping us retrieve the lost phone. We were so touched and grateful! We've stayed here many times, and the location is fantastic, making it easy to get anywhere, which is really important for us! We'll definitely choose to stay here again next time!

Very nice and modern hotel. Staff was very friendly. We didn’t book breakfast because outside of the hotel are various breakfast options so we decided to save some money. The spa was very nice and clean. The cleanliness in the room was ok but could have been a little better. It was nice to have the options with different pillows. For us the mattress was very hard, but it might be normal in Korea. Location was really good and we appreciated the great ride with the airport shuttle. We felt like celebrities 😉
