Perfect
JJiujiurenshengmeiThe room is spacious and bright, and the window is picturesque.
The room of the Yongding Tower can be seen, which is refreshing.
The sofa is simple and generous, and friends do not lose face when visiting.
Attentive service, worthy of praise. 👍

GGuest UserHow do I put this... I've stayed in quite a few decent B&Bs, and this one just gives me the impression that the owner isn't very focused on service, mainly aiming for a casual vibe, I guess... It's been a long time since I encountered a B&B or hotel where the drinks in the room fridge cost extra. When I asked for two small bottles of water, the response I got was, ”The large bottles are free too.” I don't understand what that even means... Of course, I know the large bottles are free, but do I have to drink from a jug if I want cold water? They did eventually bring them, just two small bottles... The breakfast was also quite disappointing; it's the first time I've encountered something like this at this price point for a B&B. The overall feeling is just very stingy.
There's a nearly right-angle turn outside the B&B, and our car is quite long. No one came out to guide us or help us navigate... I'll just leave it at that for now.
MMeiyincidufuHighly, highly recommended!!! Our group of four climbed Dongling Mountain this morning, and the scenery was so beautiful we didn't want to go back to Beijing. On a whim, we wanted to find a hot spring hotel nearby where we could relax and soak, and we found this one. The scenery was absolutely stunning!!! The entire village has excellent red-themed architecture and a very positive atmosphere. Even the small village museum's 3D video was quite good, creating a great ambiance, and in the morning, you could see the iconic red star right outside your window!! And the best part? The hot spring was incredibly relaxing! Enjoying a barbecue in the misty mountains, listening to the rain while soaking in the hot spring… friends, it was indescribably comfortable!!
The owner and the manager were very kind, providing us with free breakfast. After breakfast, we immediately bought two jars of the same fermented bean curd online—it was so delicious, hahaha!
In short, a perfect recommendation, we will definitely go again!!!

AAnonymous UserStayed for 2 nights in Oct 2024, planned for 1 night to visit around the town itself and another night for the Simatai Great Wall.
1. Location - Inn is located within Gubei Watertown and it is necessary to go through the watertown to visit the Simatai Great Wall. By booking an accommodation within the town gives you discounted entrance price into the town and since we planned to visit the great wall and explore the town itself we have decided to stay for 2 nights (also partly the cost and time to travel there from Beijing). Inn is located near the main square where some performances are held and near a shuttle service stop (free shuttle services within town if you’re staying in an accommodation within town. Overall a good location within town.
2. Room - Booked a family room for 4 (2 single beds in each level). Room is mostly made of wood hence its not really a modern feel and its not really sound-proof which the staff has notified in advance. Room is spacious and bathroom is big. Stairs that goes up to the 2nd level is stable but can be a little steep for seniors. Overall the room is decent. It comes with tomatoes, peanuts and tea as welcome gift.
3. Luggage - There’s a luggage service whereby you can arrange for your luggage to be transported to your hotel from entrance, and from hotel back to entrance. This is definitely needed as the ground in the watertown is not a smooth surface and can be hard to carry your luggages around.
4. Services & breakfast - Staff’s services is really good and efficient! Breakfast is simple but has good variety. There’s the buffet portion which consists of small dishes for porridge, bread, bun, drinks etc. And there’s an alacarte portion where you need to order in advance the night before such as bacon, egg, sausages, noodles etc. i think its a good initiative to avoid wastage.
Overall a very good stay and would recommend if you are visiting Gubei Watertown and would like to stay in a more traditional feel.

KKallystaWe had the most amazing stay! The hotel went above and beyond! He helped us order food and translate made sure we had everything we needed when we left to Explore. We were checking out earlier than when he makes the breakfast and asked what time he would have it ready so we were fed. so he had it ready at 6:30 in the morning. we’ve never had a hotel yes beyond in every detail! we will recommend this hotel to everyone we know. they even welcomed us with fruit and dessert, plates and yummy drinks. and every night gave us more amazing drinks before bed.
MM56405****Absolutely fantastic! The two kids played in the room until midnight without any need for adult supervision. The moms just chatted and drank the whole time – it was so relaxing and enjoyable. The hotel is super close to the ancient town, only a five-minute walk. There are supermarkets downstairs and restaurants right outside the door, which is incredibly convenient. The owner is really nice and was quick to resolve any issues we had. Remember to bring some sausages when you go; there are lots of little cats downstairs waiting for you to feed them!

Very Good
AAnonymous UserStaying at the Commune by the Great Wall was such a rejuvenating retreat! Our butler, Eva, was incredibly attentive and thoughtful throughout our stay, patiently explaining all the hotel activities. Both the villa amenities and the resort's pet park and water play areas were a lot of fun. The valley scenery coupled with views of the Great Wall made for a perfect stay. Definitely a 5-star recommendation – we'll be choosing this spot for our next vacation!
GGuest UserHygiene: My recent visit to Lanting Hot Spring Hotel coincided with their deep cleaning, and seeing their meticulous work really put guests at ease.
Environment: The hotel's lush environment is incredibly pleasant.
Service: The staff helped with luggage and guided me on purchasing Mutianyu Great Wall tickets, explaining everything in detail. It truly showed me what excellent service is all about.
Their restaurant also serves exceptionally delicious food, highly recommended!
Afternoon Tea: High quality.

Jjijing8819The room was quite spacious, and the air conditioning was comfortable. The sofa was a big help when traveling with kids. It was very convenient for going to the hot springs and swimming. Even though it was crowded during the Dragon Boat Festival, the overall experience was still pretty good! We stayed one night and got to enjoy two half-days of activities, leaving us wanting more. Plus, there's a Wanda Plaza nearby with plenty of food and drink options – highly recommend! The breakfast was also quite rich and varied.

KKatieG_Initially, a little hard to find as the location on trip.com map is inaccurate, but locals were very helpful in guiding me to the right building upon arrival
Very attentive, helpful host - great value for money, would recommend for hikers after a long day at Jinshanling
Nice places to eat in the town, and great bathroom and kitchen facilities included
