As expected of Shangri La, the service was great and top tier. Told them we were celebrating a birthday and they gave us a room facing the river and even helped to decorate the room?! Super good service and location (near Lujiazui and walkable to Oriental Pearl Tower). Near the Shanghai Tower as well. Friendly staff and clean place. Highly recommend. Special thanks to Lynn, minnie and vivian for the card.

IIt's a cute accommodation. A place where Chinese history rests and I felt it every time when an older Chinese man passed me by in the corridor. The smell of old school freshness coming from ultra fine shaven skin. Maybe a little lost and confused about how times changes and what globalization causes, for some of us. Us, because for me as a true globalist, times preciously still breathes. Tradition, it gushes out of the walls of this accommodation. The warm greetings from the ”old establishment” made me feel like home. It made me realize that the inner soul is open for the new ones, the anti-separatist and anti-segregates. There are, unfortunately and comparing to other areas of Shanghai where I've bene, also Europeans. I didn't see them in other areas except in Pudong. They made me feel not welcome. They made me feel as if ”home” would always hunt me down and tried to make me feel like one of the undesirables. It made some employees left a bit confused. ”What should I do?” handle it like a pro, and that's exactly what they managed to do. From stepping into the entrance all the way up to my room. It felt warm, it even cooled down the scattering heat from outside. Sometimes they left the door open. As if they wanted to make everyone feel comfortable. The cool air approaching me when I was nearly at ”home”. And at the end, it really did make me feel very desired. As if everyone on this planet counts. Every time when I opened the door of my room, I felt an even cooler welcome pulling me in to work even harder on my projects. The ”older” furniture, the warmth coming from the wood entering my soul, combined with the cool enough A/C, and the little bit noisy traffic made me realize how Shanghai was built upon and by who. I feel proud of the establishment of Shanghai as a whole. An energetic city, but it will always remain the traditions what made the city big. The sound of the oversized vessels slowly finding their way out of the business and gently flow away into a nothingness of blue waves, thriven what will make the city even bigger as it already is. The somewhat older flatscreen television on the wall is still hanging proudly in its socket. Showing where the new digital era started. I didn't use the television. I always leave them for what they are, but this one attracted my attention. Shall I open it? No, I'm in Shanghai and there's way too many good things to do, instead of washing my brains. It left it as it was, because I didn't want to ruin the warm feeling that I felt. Okay, back to work, because productivity is waiting. Ready for new creations. Nothing is perfect and there was a minor misunderstanding, but I will never forget to realize that the negative Latin European impulses where there. The oil that makes fire burn harder on a warm plate. Back to where I am and that's not in propaganda machine Latin Europe. I'm in pretty Shanghai. Pleasantly warm outside, because that's what Shanghai is. Little bit sweaty outside, but nice and chilling indoors. The food in the area. I'm incredibly addicted to the spicy Chinese food. It makes me as happy as if I'm high as a kite floating around on green stuff we smoke in Europe. It also was the only moment when I realized what the reason was for me to touch that green stuff which only messes up my lungs and a little bit of my mental health. But that was already a bit messed up. And the staff, they saw it. Some of them tried to acknowledge me that they saw something. That they realized I carried a lot on my back instead of two backpacks. And the made me realize that it's over and out. I left Europe for what it is. And when I look back on them, I will always look down. With my nose risen high into the sky. Thank you so much for this personal experience to the staff of this lovely accommodation. And trip.com, you're even more than fabulous.

Service: The front desk service was excellent; they were always available to communicate and resolve any issues. Facilities: The facilities are very comprehensive, and having a washing machine with a built-in dryer is a huge plus! Environment: The soundproofing is excellent, the blackout curtains work perfectly, and the room lighting is also great. I would definitely stay here again! Highly recommended!

The room was immaculate, and the overall environment was charming. It featured a kitchen, perfect for whipping up a quick breakfast. Its location right next to a shopping mall with a large supermarket was incredibly convenient! On the fifth floor, there's also an open-air garden offering breathtaking night views of Shanghai. Plus, I received a complimentary upgrade to a suite this time, which was incredibly comfortable. Thumbs up! 👍

I enjoyed my stay at the Grand Hyatt. The room was incredible. When I check in they wanted me to upgrade my room for a fee (about $45 US) but I figured, all the room have great views. I doesn’t matter if I had a city view. It was still incredible. The pool, spa, steam room and sauna were clean enough. Around the steam room there was a permanent pee odor in one of the showers. That should be improved. The breakfast buffet had a large variety of options. The hotel is big and the restaurant seems inadequate to handle this much people at a times. Maybe they could open another restaurant to handle peak hours. The room was clean and had a large number of amenities. The TV set is a bit too small for the room. This was a great stay. The Grand Hyatt is a good option is you want to stay near the bund.

We recently stayed at The Ritz-Carlton in Shanghai, and it was truly a memorable experience. The hotel exudes a sense of tradition and timeless elegance, and the view from our room was absolutely breathtaking — beyond words, really. I can confidently say it was the best view we've seen among all the hotels in Shanghai. From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with genuine smiles and warm hospitality. The level of service throughout our stay was truly outstanding. Check-in and check-out were both quick and seamless, which we greatly appreciated after a long journey. Although the building itself shows a bit of age, everything else more than made up for it. The room was immaculately clean, with the furniture and flooring well maintained and neatly arranged. We also appreciated the thoughtful welcome letter and fresh fruit, which added a personal touch and made us feel truly valued as guests. The breakfast venue offered not only excellent food but also a stunning view, making every morning feel special. The service at breakfast was also consistently attentive and professional. While the swimming pool was a bit on the smaller side, my husband still enjoyed it during the short time he was able to use it. Once again, the staff there were helpful and courteous, ensuring a pleasant experience. If I had to mention one minor downside, it would be the slightly dated feel of the building itself. However, the incredible view, exceptional service, and overall atmosphere far outweighed that detail. Overall, I would confidently rate our stay as 9 out of 10. I would absolutely love to return on our next trip to Shanghai. Thank you to the entire team at The Ritz-Carlton for a truly wonderful stay, thanks ❤️

The hotel is of a very high standard. We stayed on the 31st floor in a huge room. The breakfast was delicious with a large variety. The service was excellent – everything we asked for was brought to us. The location is great, with Metro Line 4 and Line 14 just across the street. The view of the city was stunning, and every evening we enjoyed sitting and looking out over the city. Next to the hotel there are many shops, a small supermarket, and I highly recommend a store where we bought tasty things every day. We enjoyed it very much – thank you!

Novotel is located on the perfect building for us. It has a halal restaurant in 1st floor inside the market, a departmental store, Subway, discount Sketchers shop, starbucks, manner coffee, and a gelato shop. Bank of China is opposite of the building. The metro station is a little bit away though. We requested the receptions to give us rooms on the top floor and she happily accommodated us. We were on the 40th floor overlooking the river and we can't ask for a more beautiful view. She made our stay super pleasant. There is revolving restaurant on 50th floor and breakfast is served there too. The room came with japanese toilet! And it was amazing. The room had a minibar and complimentary drinks and beverages were provided. We would stay here again in Shanghai.

This is an established four-star hotel, and its location perfectly suited my itinerary, so I decided to stay for several nights. The room service on the 11th floor was exceptionally professional, including turndown service and neatly folded bathrobes. While the facilities felt a bit dated, the professional service really stood out – something I always appreciate in a 4-star hotel or higher during my business trips. They even provided extra bottles of water when they noticed we had a child. Huge kudos to the staff on the 11th floor! Bed: The 1.8-meter bed had a perfectly firm yet soft mattress, ensuring a very comfortable sleep. Restaurant: The sunken restaurant, Q, had a distinct Southeast Asian ambiance. Value for money: Excellent. For a chain hotel, the pricing was unbeatable, and the superb location made it incredibly convenient to get around. Front desk service: The front desk service was also very professional, quick, and efficient – truly commendable. They also had several robots delivering food, and the elevators required key card access, which provided a full sense of security.

The hotel is ok for the price but not recommended when you cannot speak fluent Mandarin. We had a bad experience with a night shift staff who was very rude... Playing games while we were having trouble locating our daughter's phone dropped inside Didi taxi. He was oblivious and very unhelpful. We took a video of him playing games right in front of the counter and showed this to his manager. His manager made it up to us by helping us talk to the Didi driver and retrieiving the lost phone. But the staff playing games in front of a client while on duty is unacceptable. In contrast, there's a very hard working staff who keeps looking for ways to help people. Mr. Zhang. I took a picture of him to commend his efforts in welcoming guests and bringing tea to those seated. Internet here is terribly unstable and unreliable. Generous access to bottled water, coffee and tea. Breakfast is ok. Many good restaurants around to try. Especially the one across Little Camel BBQ and right beside crab roe xiao long bao.

YYangjunhanThe room was a bit small but well-equipped, though it felt a little dusty. Its location is very convenient, just one traffic light away from the subway station, with plenty of local eateries nearby. Breakfast is delivered directly to your room since there's no on-site restaurant. A washing machine was available, but we didn't end up using it. The service was excellent, and coffee and other beverages are also available in the lobby.

YYingyingdaijiarenkanshijieThe room was very clean, the service was excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. The pool was a bit small, but wow, the building is incredibly tall! A special shout-out to the turndown service, which replenished plenty of water (the room felt a little dry, so staying hydrated was key!) and cleared the trash. From the bathtub in my Magnolia room, I had views of Qiantan, Expo Park, Lupu Bridge, and Nanpu Bridge. From the desk, I could see Yaohan, Century Park (I believe), and beyond that, two extremely tall buildings (does anyone know what they are?). To see the Oriental Pearl Tower and the iconic 'Three-Piece Suit' skyscrapers, you needed to go to the 101st-floor lobby. At night, I also enjoyed a complete and magnificent panorama of the Bund and Yu Garden. The views from the 84th and 85th floors were excellent as well. Minibar beer and soft drinks were complimentary. However, snacks, chocolates, spirits, and wine were chargeable. The welcome fruit was a bit sparse – I actually had to use a Ctrip point to get it. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. It motivates me to work hard, show my kids more of the world, and treat myself to such rewards again.

MM861740****I booked online. After checking in and settling into the room, I was pleasantly surprised by its spaciousness. The view from the window was lovely, with green trees and Shanghai's classic red-brick houses in the background. While enjoying the AC and watching TV, I'd often glance up to see the trees swaying gently in the breeze, which brought a profound sense of peace and tranquility. Because the hotel is nestled within a residential compound, it was incredibly quiet at night, ensuring a truly restful sleep. I woke up feeling completely refreshed in the morning.
