Location, location, location. Close to everything, like… EVERYTHING. I don’t think you can get a better location than this one in Shanghai.
About hotel: this feels premium, it’s old, you can feel the history in this place, it’s actually an iconic place in Shanghai.
Room: when I entered in the room my first thought was “Nixon was here”, you’re just feeling like in a premium hotel from ‘70s. But there is also a big LCD, and the toilet is next gen, with leds and everything, opens itself when close by and so on.
Breakfast: has pretty much everything, asian and continental. Shanghai was my last place in China and after wandering in various places I was longing after a good continental breakfast; funny thing is that I started to prefer also Asian food in the morning lol; fish dumplings are really good here tbh.

The New Jinjiang Hotel is absolutely fantastic! Despite the typhoon and heavy rain, we made it to the hotel lobby, and the front desk proactively upgraded us to a suite on the 32nd floor. The room was incredibly spacious, offering expansive views of Shanghai's beautiful skyline, which was truly invigorating!
The hotel is ideally located on Huaihai Middle Road, with Metro Lines 13 and 10 right next door. Nanjing West Road and Xintiandi are just one metro stop away, and iapm mall is only a short walk. Staying at the New Jinjiang Hotel makes getting around Shanghai incredibly easy and convenient.
A special mention goes to the Blue Sky Revolving Restaurant on the top floor – the food there is simply outstanding! My daughter and I loved it so much that we had lunch there every single day of our stay. Their amazing array of dishes included Braised Pork with Glutinous Rice Cakes, Braised Pork Ribs in Soy Sauce, Shredded Tofu in Rich Broth, Signature Roast Duck, Zao Si Bao (marinated four delicacies), Scallion Oil Chicken, Lion's Head Meatballs, Scallop and Shepherd's Purse Tofu Soup, and Blue Sky Handmade Noodles, to name just a few. My daughter particularly enjoyed the authentic Shanghai cuisine. We will definitely be staying at the New Jinjiang Hotel again on our next visit to Shanghai!

Shanghai in late summer was warm and humid. Stepping into the Jin Jiang Hotel, I had no idea this stay would become such a memorable experience. This was already the third hotel I'd visited in Shanghai in two days, and the first two had been quite disappointing! (The first two were overpriced, dilapidated, and lacked parking. The Jin Jiang, in contrast, was everything they weren't.)
Thankfully, the best was saved for last.
Upon arrival at the Jin Jiang, someone thoughtfully opened the car door, and my luggage was promptly taken to my room. This attentive service was very reassuring. Thanks to the front desk's enthusiastic upgrade recommendation, I was able to experience one of this legendary hotel's classic suites. Pushing open the heavy wooden door, time seemed to slow down. The elegance of Old Shanghai blended seamlessly with modern hotel sophistication; every detail truly conveyed the meaning of 'exceptionally good'.
Within the spacious suite, brass chandeliers cast a warm, golden glow, highlighting replicated Old Shanghai calendar posters on the walls. But the most delightful surprise was the windows. They offered views of the hotel garden's lush greenery, with tall trees gently swaying in the breeze. For a moment, I found myself wondering if I was in a bustling modern city or a century-old private mansion.
The housekeeping timing was impeccable; every time I returned, the room was spotless and refreshed, yet all my personal belongings were untouched and exactly where I'd left them.
All the service staff were incredibly warm and attentive. My particular thanks go to the front desk supervisor, who was exceptionally helpful and accommodating.

I absolutely love this hotel! I was in Shanghai for a business trip, and it's perfectly situated right across from my workplace. It's a four-star hotel, and the location is simply fantastic – you step right out of the subway station and into the hotel's back entrance. It feels like a well-established property, and the lobby is impressively spacious. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Highly recommended for traveling with a baby! We booked a two-bedroom suite, and the hotel staff helped us install the bed guard early in the morning. The room was spacious enough! The air conditioning was also excellent, and the service was excellent. The breakfast was also delicious and child-friendly. I'll definitely be back!
Overall it's good, with good sound insulation, but you need to go downstairs to pick up takeout.
The location is good, next to Magnolia Plaza and Dapu Bridge Sun Moon Light. It's next to the Agricultural Bank of China, so it's easy to find.

The old hotel's past style can be seen from various details, as if it has returned to the 1990s. The various facilities are old but well maintained. There is a large lawn downstairs, and guests staying in the club can swim next to it. The water temperature is very suitable. It is within walking distance to the zoo and one subway stop away from Korea Street. It is very suitable for bringing children to spend a weekend.

I first stayed at this hotel 10 years ago. Back then, every year when I'd visit my grandma, I'd always choose this hotel as it was the closest to her place. With the subway station right outside, it goes without saying that getting around is incredibly convenient. It looks like it's undergone a major renovation since then, as some areas have definitely changed. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit to grandma's – it's just so convenient! Love it!
