We arrived at 10:00 AM and left at 4:00 PM. The ticket provided by the organizer included entrance, the shuttle, and the cable car. There were no additional fees to pay on-site. However, the organizer was very uncooperative before the trip. It was stated that the trip could be canceled the day before if there were fewer than 12 participants. We sent a message the day before at 6:30 PM, and the organizer still asked us to wait until 9:00 PM to find out if the trip was still going ahead. This situation can be very frustrating, especially when you only have one day to visit the site. Remember to bring your passport for police checks.

If you come to Beijing and don't visit Tiananmen Square, you're missing out big time! It's like the heart of Beijing, bringing together major landmarks from all four directions. It's a vast, expansive square. Getting into the square is incredibly difficult, requiring passing through many security checkpoints. But once you're inside, you'll realize just how massive it is—everything seems twice the scale! And you absolutely can't miss the entrance gate to the Forbidden City, adorned with statues of important Chinese leaders. You have to stop and take a picture there! 😘

Tiananmen Square is quite magnificent overall, but it's not a must-see. You can visit it before going to the Forbidden City. Chairman Mao can't be seen there, so you don't need to go specifically; just look at the exterior of the buildings.
(Although I didn't go to the Forbidden City, if you want to go, remember to refresh the official website seven days in advance to get tickets. Don't be like me and only try to go when you arrive; you can't get tickets at all.)

Buying a freshly fried rice cake, dipping it in brown sugar, and enjoying its warm, sweet, and soft texture, while squeezing into the crowd to listen to a few lines of opera—even if you don't understand the tune—feels lively and welcoming, full of the warmth and life of everyday life, and your heart feels a sense of joy and celebration.

Taking the cable car at night to see the city lights gradually illuminates the city, from the nearby streetlights to the distant skyscrapers, spreading out like scattered diamonds, even the streets appear as glowing ribbons. A breeze blows from the cable car, and the entire city stretches out below, both quiet and vibrant. A sense of openness washes over me; from this vantage point, everyday worries seem so small, and nothing seems insurmountable.

We really liked the place 🩷 We went there at 9:00 a.m., thinking there wouldn't be many people, but we were wrong 😅. My knowledge of Chinese helped us quickly get through the line at the entrance; after all, I've been in China for 11 years. We really liked the park itself—it's a must-see for every tourist visiting Beijing. An interesting moment occurred when we approached the Temple of Heaven itself. Some Tibetan grandmothers approached me and asked to take a photo with them, and I couldn't refuse them. 🙏. While on the grounds, you can see elderly people practicing Qigong and Tai Chi 🥋, while others simply exercise, creating the impression of a vibrant activity around the Temple of Heaven. You can see many Chinese bloggers broadcasting live on Douyin or Kuai shou. The unusual patterns on the walls and roofs of the buildings are a separate art form; foreign guests simply stood and watched, mesmerized. Overall, to sum it up, I highly recommend this place to everyone 🚩

Our tour guide was well-versed in history and introduced us to many interesting facts. However, since we were Chinese tourists, the focus was more on China’s internal customers. As an overseas customer who is not a native Chinese speaker, I found it challenging to fully grasp the information due to the fast-paced nature of the conversation.
