We booked our tickets in advance through trip.com with 6 fast tracks, as the ride was scheduled for October 3 (a weekend and public holiday in China). We arrived at 8:30, and the line to enter was quick. It had been raining all day, but the lines for the rides were still long. We immediately downloaded the park map to see the wait times. Overall, everything was great, except that they didn't mention that the line was for taking a photo with a character, not actually riding. So, we spent 45 minutes standing in line for Marvel, which was a real surprise... Do you need fast tracks? Definitely not. Fast tracks only get you through at the very beginning, and then everything else merges into one line, forcing you to wait for 20-40 minutes anyway. By evening, there were practically no people left, so we went on the Tron again, waiting in line for no more than 10 minutes.JPY 10,047

Located in a prime downtown spot, it's convenient for getting anywhere. Downstairs is very lively with restaurants, a food street, and a shopping complex all in one.
During weekdays in summer, there were many foreign guests... and quite a few elderly Chinese too. The front desk often had queues for check-in, and there were always people waiting for taxis outside. Business was really good, yet the room offered excellent value for money!

My sibling and I stayed here, and the view was fantastic! It's close to People's Square and easy to hail a taxi. When checking in, we had two separate reservations for our two nights and one night stay. We asked if we could combine them into one room for three consecutive nights, and they happily accommodated us. Since one of the nights would have been a downgrade, they even added breakfast for two for all three days, lol. It was so good! They have staff who can speak Korean, and the machines are well-equipped. Everyone is so friendly, especially the staff – I love them! They also helped us with all our delivery pickups. I'm taking away wonderful memories from my first trip to Shanghai!!! And at checkout, Sandy and Lily were incredibly kind, helping with our luggage storage and giving us drink coupons, making the end of our stay great, lol. The view is excellent, and the accessibility is superb, so I think Koreans would also have a comfortable stay! Highly recommended!! We were there for 2 nights during our first trip to Shanghai & China and we were travelling with our 11 year girl. We moved from Hyatt on the Bund. The location was excellent for someone who wants to be in the middle of all action and at the other end of Nanjing Walking Street. You have the best walking street with all huge showrooms the family would want to visit including M&M, Lego, Miniso, Huawei within walking distance. Eric (Manager) was very kind and helpful to give us and all the guests a very special treatment and seeing we are enjoying our stay. We stayed in a duck themed room which was quite good in size and amenities. The breakfast spread was good but could be improved to accommodate Asian / western options. There was a McDonald’s / subway / Pakistani kebab place right below the building. The area felt very safe and not far from bund. The swimming pool and gym was nice as well. My friend was only staying in Shanghai for a day, so naturally, I wanted to give her an itinerary that offered both 'old-world charm and new-age chic.' While passing Nanjing West Road recently, this InterContinental 'Luxury Collection' hotel immediately caught my eye. And just as I expected, critical as she is, she complimented my taste the moment she walked in.
Its most appealing features are its convenient location and its ability to be a tranquil oasis amidst the bustle: step outside, and you're on the vibrant Nanjing Road; turn around, and you're in the quiet serenity of a residential area. My friend said the elevator decor instantly made her feel like she'd 'traveled through time,' and that unique 'Haitian style' evoked long-lost memories of Shanghai. She had originally come to sightsee but happily spent most of her day lingering at the hotel.
What she loved most were the terrace and the restaurant. On a summer evening, the breeze felt just like those childhood nights spent cooling off in the alleyways – she used to live in a Shikumen house. She remarked, 'If only I could lie in a wicker chair, fan myself with a palm-leaf fan, eat watermelon, and watch an outdoor movie, that would be truly divine.' She also adored the red hanging ornament in the lobby; it was vibrantly bright, yet its glass texture gave it a lively feel, much like Shanghai's character – passionate yet steady, with a touch of lightness within its composure.
The food did not disappoint either. I pushed her to try the Shiqipu Noodle Restaurant, where the owner asked in Shanghainese, 'Mi dao ai hao fa?' (Is the taste good?), and she smiled and replied, 'Authentic,' instantly tearing up. She specifically bought the sweet variety of butterfly pastries from the International Hotel – saying 'only sweet is truly Shanghai.' Her only regret was: having stayed in too many foreign-style grand hotels, this time, with Shanghai elements everywhere and Shanghai flavors in every bite, it was 'just missing the sound of Shanghai.' Perhaps the cicada chirps in the alleyways and the hawkers' cries from the Shikumen are the hometown sounds she truly yearns to hear.
However, she has already declared: the next time she returns, this will be her chosen hotel, and she plans to visit all the routes I arranged. I believe the charm of Shanghai has never been in its superficial glamour but in its ability to always find the most fitting way to blend East and West, ancient and modern, living as a unique 'Haipai' (Shanghai style). This is also the root that every Shanghainese person cherishes.
Below are the three half-day itinerary options I created for her, which I've also compiled here, hoping they might help someone else:
Option 1 · A Stroll Through Old Shanghai Charm
Start from the hotel's main entrance on Fengyang Road and turn into Huanghe Road. The Changjiang Building and Changjiang Theater were the last residences of Eileen Chang; Huanghe Road is the origin of 'Blossoms Shanghai' (Fan Hua). The International Hotel is where her mother and aunt once stayed; next to it, the Sports Museum is rumored to be where Eileen Chang used to study. Diagonally opposite is the History Museum (formerly the Racecourse); the East Wing houses the old bronze lions from the HSBC Building on the Bund, and the 'Echoes of Shanghai' exhibition in the West Wing happens to talk about the past of Fengyang Road. The ornate windows of the West Wing and the Changjiang Building, mirroring the hotel's architecture, perfectly showcase the most fashionable Art Deco style of the 1930s.
Option 2 · Tracing Red Memories
Walk along Chengdu North Road to the Secretariat of the China Labor Movement, to see how Shanghai workers united into a revolutionary force; then visit the former site of the Songpu Special Committee. Go to the Sihang Warehouse to hear the echoes of the Battle of Shanghai and see the bullet-riddled walls recount the tragedy of that year. At night, turn into Xiang Kang Li on Xinchang Road to find the former site of the CCP Central Committee's secret printing press; on Nanjing West Road, there is also the former site of the Soviet Liaison Office, where, amidst the flickering lights, memories of the past reside.
Option 3 · Modern and Retro Collision
The LV 'Big Boat' on Nanjing West Road is currently a popular spot for photos; after visiting, turn into Wujiang Road for shopping and dining, and further ahead is Zhangyuan Shikumen – where new trends emerge in old alleyways, perfect for capturing stunning photos.

Facilities: Initially, I encountered some minor issues, but these were resolved after I moved to the Deluxe Balcony King Room. The room and bed were quite large, making for a comfortable stay.
Environment: The hotel is only a few hundred meters from the Bund, offering an excellent location with direct views of the 'Three-piece Suit' (Lujiazui skyline). The outdoor scenery is fantastic.
Service: The hotel's service was excellent, with many activities available, such as soap making, a Bund city walk, and guided tours like the Yu Garden Lantern Night. They also offered travel photography services, and both the makeup artist and photographer were highly skilled.

We booked this eco-friendly hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is very conveniently located: there's a metro station nearby, as well as two shopping centres. The hotel is large, but there was quiet and peaceful.
The view from the window was beautiful, even despite the typhoon that was hitting Shanghai these days (our room was on the 12th floor. We chose the hotel because of its location and good breakfasts. The breakfasts were really very delicious and tasty.
There was both Chinese and European food. A wide selection of fruits: watermelons, melons, apricots, mangoes, bananas, dragon fruit. There were many different pastries, several types of yogurts, even matcha yogurt.
Also, at the exit from the restaurant, there was a Candy Bar with chewy marmalade: you can put the marmalade in a small bag.
The room had everything, including a capsule coffee machine, an ironing board, and an iron, which is very convenient. l'd especially like to mention the eco-friendly slippers, which really stand out from the slippers in other hotels: they're very comfortable. Staying at The Anandi Hotel in Shanghai | A Healing Hotel Experience
Before heading back to Beijing, I chose this healing hotel for a few days of rest in Shanghai. Here's my experience:
Facilities and Activities 🏊🏻♂️:
1. Guests can use the hot spring, which wasn't crowded and wasn't very large. There are two public pools, one in the hot spring area and another on the 11th floor of the hotel. The gym is also small. There are free healing activities every day, with more options on weekends, including children's craft experiences 👍🏻.
2. The kids' club is on the second floor of the hot spring area, but children cannot be left unattended; parents must supervise them. I suggest they change this – if parents are constantly watching their kids, how can they have time to spend money? 😓
Environment 🌲: As a healing hotel, you essentially stay within the hotel. There isn't much to do in the surrounding area 😂.
Dining 🍜:
The breakfast at the Mystic restaurant is quite healthy. The executive lounge offers afternoon tea and light dinner. Yue Restaurant and Yuan Yan are actually the same restaurant.
Dining taste ranking ➡️ Yuan Yan > Mystic restaurant > Executive Lounge.
Service: Most of the staff provide excellent service. On weekends, due to more guests, the service quality can slightly dip 😝.

This was an absolutely wonderful hotel. The ambiance throughout the property was sophisticated, and the staff's service was meticulous, making my stay incredibly comfortable.
What particularly stood out was the hot spring. The atmosphere was superb, and it felt like I was experiencing the luxury of a Japanese ryokan, even though I was abroad. I believe it's on par with the best ryokans in Japan.
Among them, Mr. Gao's service was exceptional; he was incredibly attentive to every detail and escorted us with care throughout our stay. Thanks to him, it became an even more special and pleasant experience.

I stayed one night at Yuansu Hot Spring Hotel in Shanghai, and the overall experience was better than expected.
The room was very clean and well-equipped, making for a comfortable stay. My favorite part was the private hot spring tub in the room. After returning in the evening, I could soak anytime without needing a reservation, which offered excellent privacy.
The hotel also offers therapeutic activities like meditation. Unfortunately, I only stayed one night and didn't have much time to try them, but they seemed quite unique.
Parking at the hotel is very convenient, with plenty of spaces available. If you're driving, you basically don't have to worry about parking.
The hotel staff provided excellent and patient service. They were always quick to help with any issues and spoke very kindly.

Like many reviews wrote, the water in the pool here is really too hot. It is the hottest of all the hot springs in Shanghai that I have been to. It feels too hot. I saw that several children could hardly soak in the water for a while. I don’t know why so many people complained. I saw that the management was still saying in the comments that it met the hot spring temperature requirements. What they said is that your water is too hot, and they are giving you suggestions. The location is located in the forest but there's no light surrounding during night . There are 3 pet dogs who live nearby (one of them is friendly). During winters the place is almost empty. Best for solo or couple travels. Sauna in winter is a must try. Overall the room needs a little repairing but it's not that noticable. The rooms are pretty large and provide all amenities. Each room is calm a provides a retreat for a peaceful vacation. The Breakfast lady is nice and hospitable. Breakfast included milk, croissant , a pastry an egg and a bowl of wontons. All snacks and fruits provided in room are complimentary. Overall a nice place for short weekend trip. In morning one can have a morning walk around forest or bike ( during winters the bike become a bit rusty though). The place also provides Kayaking in the nearby lake for 100 RMB / 3 hrs . It's best to enjoy kayaking in summers. Will visit here again. Also the place doesn't provide dinner but there are 2 nearby places providing good food. For over a decade, The Portman Ritz-Carlton has been my only choice when in Shanghai. It feels like coming home, a place I've grown attached to. This time, I had a business meeting, so I specifically booked an Executive Room. I highly recommend the Ritz-Carlton Executive Lounge – it's incredibly comfortable, the food and drinks are excellent, and it offers great privacy. The floor-to-ceiling windows on the 43rd floor provide amazing views; whether it's daytime or the city lights at night, Nanjing Road outside the window always has a different charm.
The room was as comfortable as ever, and the hotel service was superb – truly befitting a top-tier hotel. A small detail: this morning, while having breakfast in the Executive Lounge, I heard a server speaking to a guest in flawless, fluent American English. The staff's quality is indeed exceptional, especially since this is one of the Shanghai five-star hotels I've seen with the most foreign guests.

The most perfect trip! As a century-old hotel, the entire building is steeped in history. For those of us living in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai region, the Peace Hotel holds a certain allure, and this trip truly allowed me to experience the most perfect hotel on the Bund.
Facilities: Renovated 10 years ago, the facilities are continually updated and far from outdated, creating an overall convenient and comfortable stay.
Hygienics: Perfect.
Environment: The surroundings speak for themselves. Step downstairs and you're on the pedestrian street, turn your head and you see the 'Three Tall Buildings' (Lujiazui Financial District). The convenience this brings is unparalleled. The hotel also has a rich Republic of China era ambiance, making it incredibly photogenic.
Service: Perfect! They even sent a small cake as it was almost my birthday! Thanks to Alexander for the excellent service; he meticulously introduced all the room facilities on our way up and was very thoughtful upon our departure.
Food: We dined at both the Dragon & Phoenix Restaurant and the Western restaurant. Overall, the prices are quite high, but the food was good, especially the拌面 (ban mian - tossed noodles), which was exceptionally delicious. We went to the Jazz Bar to listen to the elderly jazz band and resident singer – you could genuinely listen all night, it was so pleasant and relaxing. Additionally, the view from the Cathay Room Bar terrace is unbeatable.
