I had a problem with the flight I travelled on and my sister had no place on the plane and had to stay and the owner of the Hotel was tireless, I even told my sister not to worry that he would help with what she needed, I can say that he was excellent from the first day we arrived"

"Managed by the Portuguese owner, Dona Helena, and her friendly team, the Hotel Central is truly centrally located and exceeded our expectations: the cleanliness stands out in a welcoming environment, rooms with AC, minibar, and Wi-Fi. The breakfast buffet offers fresh fruit (papaya, apple banana, mango, jackfruit, cashew fruit), fresh fruit juice, bread, scrambled eggs, ham/cheese, milk, and coffee. There's a very good and inexpensive restaurant where we could savor several typical dishes from São Tomé, and a café/pastry shop. It's difficult to describe the owner's friendliness. Dona Helena seemed like a long-time friend. She was tireless in her kindness and suggestions whenever we asked for help, along with her impeccable team who made us feel at home. I loved this hotel! I will definitely return! Visit the Hotel Central."

Hotel Praia

"We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was well-located, only a few minutes from the airport and only around 5 minutes by car to the city – and right across the road from the beach. The grounds are quite extensive with lots of out buildings and well manicured gardens. Our room was a huge 1-bedroom apartment with kitchenette – clean, comfortable, and spacious – if not lacking in character and charm. The furnishings were basic but comfortable enough. The kitchenette was not functional, as there were no dishes, cutlery, pots/pans provided, though we did like having a big fridge. The restaurant was very good and we ate a couple of pizzas for our evening meals (a nice change from fish and bananas!). The buffet breakfasts were super as well. The pool and pool area were very nice – a great place to hang out for a while. The gym on the other hand was in bad shape. The facility itself actually appears quite nice at first glance, but upon inspection, pretty much all the weight machines were out of order, leaving only some free weights, a bench, and a pullup bar. In a nutshell, anything that requires periodic maintenance is broken. Overall, we had a very good stay and would recommend it to other travelers."

"I stayed in this wonderful hotel for 10 days. cozy rooms, comfortable beds. view from the window of the ocean (across the garden and the road), the sound of the surf creates a pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast, although not rich in variety, is tasty and satisfying. The baked goods and fruits deserve special praise. the staff is helpful, the pool is refreshing, the sun loungers allow you to soak up the sun. The room has a safe, bath, good air conditioning. I recommend this hotel for visiting and relaxing."

"I understand that Sao Tome and Principe is a country that's in economic transition but this hotel's 5 star rating is really insulting. The rooms are old, the food is always a terrible buffet, and the hotel reception staff is just not up to par. The wait staff in the restaurant and housekeeping staff are super lovely. I only stay at this hotel because my work makes me for security purposes but I wish I could stay anywhere else but here. It's really a 3 star hotel and does not meet expectations."
