"Exceptional Stay at W Hotel Melbourne I recently stayed at the W Hotel in Melbourne, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the experience was seamless, stylish, and luxurious. The design of the hotel is modern and chic, with vibrant decor that perfectly captures Melbourne’s cosmopolitan vibe. My room was impeccably clean, thoughtfully designed, and offered stunning views of the city. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the attention to detail in amenities—from the plush robes to the high-end toiletries—made it feel like a true escape. The staff were exceptional—attentive, warm, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure my stay was perfect. Dining at the hotel was also a highlight; the food was creative, fresh, and bursting with flavor. The hotel’s location is ideal, placing you in the heart of Melbourne with easy access to restaurants, shops, and attractions. Whether you’re there for business or leisure, the W Hotel offers the perfect blend of comfort and style. I highly recommend the W Hotel in Melbourne for anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable experience. I can’t wait to return! Feel free to tweak it with any specific highlights or personal touches!"

"I recently stayed at the Quincy Hotel for a business/leisure trip and found it to be an excellent choice for the value-conscious traveler. The standout features are undoubtedly the included amenities: quality coffee, evening drinks, and a stocked mini-bar. These touches add significant value and are executed well. The hotel's design is fresh, modern, and tech-savvy, with a buzzing lobby atmosphere. The location on Commercial Place is ideal, putting you within easy walking distance of the CBD's key areas, public transport, and Melbourne's famous laneway culture. The room, while compact (as is common for city-center hotels), was very functional, quiet, and equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Staff were professional and check-in/out was seamless. For those needing more space, it might be worth inquiring about a larger room category. For a solo traveler or a couple, it's perfect. I would gladly return and recommend the Quincy for its prime location, great value, and unique offering."

"The room was very clean and quiet, and the front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. However, one major disappointment was the “city view” — despite purchasing a city view room, there was no actual city view, which was quite disappointing at first. That said, the outstanding service made up for it overall. The pillow selection in the room was very limited and the pillows themselves were quite small and uncomfortable — they didn’t really feel like proper pillows, which was also disappointing. Additionally, the desk lamp was not working properly and kept flashing, and the room lighting setup was inconvenient; there was no option to select which areas to light up, so the room often felt too bright. The room service menu offered very limited food choices, so we ended up going out for both dinner and breakfast. Lastly, the shower head switch was extremely tight and difficult to turn, which needs improvement."

"The hotel is located at the city Centre and just near the southern cross train station. It is very convenient for the travelers to explore the city by tram or other transportations. The breakfast is good and friendly staff to help. The bed size of twin rooms is quite tiny that could be improved for better stay experience. Overall we were satisfied to stay at the hotel in Melbourne. Will recommend to friends and everyone who is going to visit Melbourne."

"1. Location near to QVM otherwise easily a 10-15 mins to majority eateries and place of interest  2. Liquid Detergent only a Sachet would prefer a dispenser (wall mount) with proper sponge  3. Heater was not working on 2 nights and on the 2nd night have to get someone from front desk to check it out (2.40am) it was running 16•C when we set it to 30•C. Front desk guy was helpful gave us 1 portable heater and 3 thick blankets. Next day it was fixed.  4. Would prefer separate for Shampoo, Conditioner and Shower foam vs combination  5. Hanger in the open wardrobe can be improved it was crooked  6. Pillows were simply too soft asked for additional ones  7. Housekeeping need to be requested and they did just tidying up bedsheets and throwing of trash generally acceptable  Would have chosen another location if I would like to have more accessibility to shopping or eating places  8. Carpark charges is $39/night a bit on the costly side  9. Lift by the way connects to the carpark shown as UG but it was not shown and having to take the stairs for past days till the last day  10. Nice lobby with good seating areas and water dispenser machine"

Here are two airports in Melbourne. Melbourne Airport (MEL)lies 23 kilometers northwest of the city center and handles all international flights and primary domestic routes, including Qantas and Virgin Australia hubs.
Avalon Airport (AVV), positioned 55 kilometers southwest of the CBD, focuses on ultra-low-cost domestic routes (primarily Jetstar) and cargo operations.

Final Melbourne Hotels Booking Tips

  • Melbourne’s hotel prices surge—and rooms sell out—during the Australian Open (January), F1 Grand Prix (March), and AFL Finals (September), so reserve ahead to avoid 200% rate hikes or last-minute scrambles near the MCG.
  • Unlike Tokyo’s midnight transport cutoff, Melbourne’s trams run until 1 AM on weekends; stay near Flinders Street Station, Southbank, or within the Free Tram Zone to explore bars and galleries without expensive taxi returns.
  • Skip pricey CBD towers—base yourself in Docklands for apartment-style rooms and free trams to Southern Cross Station (SkyBus to airport), or choose South Yarra for garden strolls and a 9-minute train to Flinders Street’s laneways.

GGuest UserThis is a very nice resort. The interior is very clean and large. Bed is comfortable and toilet is good with jacuzzi. You will see kangaroos and cockatoos outside the cottage in the morning and evening. My kids enjoy the stay very much. However you need to either cook your own meals or drive out to eat. The drive is about 15 mins.

GGuest UserWe initially booked just two nights at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, but the outstanding service we received made us extend our stay—and I’m so glad we did. The level of attentiveness and genuine care shown by the staff truly elevated our experience. One moment that stood out was during breakfast. My husband asked a staff member at the pastry section whether the items were halal. She explained it to him politely, and to our surprise, about 15 minutes later, the Assistant Director of the restaurant, Mr. Albert, personally came to our table. He took the time to explain the halal options available and even assured us that eggs could be prepared using separate utensils. While I was getting bread, Mr. Albert noticed and came over again, kindly asking if I would like my eggs prepared then. He immediately instructed the chef to prepare eggs and nuggets for me and told me to sit comfortably while he arranged everything to be brought over. His thoughtfulness and proactive service left a lasting impression. It’s rare to see such initiative and care, and it made me feel confident that I had chosen the right hotel. I will definitely recommend Grand Hyatt Melbourne to my family and friends. The hotel is fortunate to have a staff member like Mr. Albert—he truly deserves recognition for his outstanding hospitality.

CClarrence LeoWe are a family of 5 adult and 1 infant, and we booked 2 rooms separately. We primarily chose this hotel because of the good location next to the domestic terminal and a not-so-expensive price point (compared to Parkroyal which was directly opposite the hotel). The rooms were decently-sized, nothing too luxurious as it catered mainly to travellers transferring in the airport. The hotel had a massive gym, which was surprisingly given that it was mostly empty but they had all kinds of equipment catering to all body parts. We also had breakfast at the hotel restaurant and it was OK. Not the best food, but at least it filled out stomachs with the standard spread of Western food - fruits, bread, eggs and bacons etc. All in all, would recommend this hotel if you are transitioning at Melbourne for a night and looking for an affordable yet not too shabby place to sleep!

SSolomon LoOn 24/6 I ordered fried eggs during breakfast, yet the quality of the eggs were not up to standard, yolk was not normal and with no taste at all, yet I ordered same on the next day with a different chef, that was back to a normal egg, I wondered Sheraton would use such quality of eggs! Another opinion is that gym room facilities are not enough, thanks!

Vvan0ffthewallStayed at Ibis Kingsgate for two weeks as I was here to celebrate my birthday. It is my second time staying here; I also came here last year for two weeks and for my birthday! The hotel is located within a good and safe area - which is great for solo travellers such as myself. I’ve seen families at this hotel too. Ibis Kingsgate is within the free tram zone (you can take the 86 or 96), with access to many amenities nearby such as Coles, Woolies, Southern Cross Station (great for when you have to catch the SkyBus), My Chemist, and a range of food and cafe options. Located at the cross junction of King and Bourke St, the hotel is also walking distance to other popular streets such Elizabeth, Queen, Williams, Colins, Lonsdale, La Trobe, and more! Flinders is nearby too, and you can just cut across to Southbank as well! In fact, you can even walk to Lygon, Docklands or even as far as Collingwood, which I did! If walking is not your thing, there are also many options for trams, trains, and buses near this hotel. Room is adequate and clean, with a nice range of television channels. There’s a fridge, kettle and tea/coffee which is occasionally refilled. Bathroom is good too; sufficient and spacious enough, and for some - there’s even a window in the bathroom! The hotel staff are nice and it’s always great to be back. Thank you for the room upgrade, it made my trip even more special. I returned the gesture by keeping the room as clean and tidy as possible. ;p Until next time! See ya later!

BBec143I’ve stayed at numerous at the Punt Hill apartments over the past decade, though it had been a while since I last stayed in one. Our one bedroom apartment was spacious, however the hotel is quite run down now. Walls in the bathroom weren’t very clean, neither were mugs and cutlery (I always make a habit of cleaning things before I use them!). I ended up staying mostly in the hotel as I was sick with the flu so I noticed the wifi was very glitchy and intermittent too so it made streaming shows quite difficult to watch that I ended up just using my phone. The beds were comfortable though! The location is actually fantastic too, right in the heart of China town and easily walkable to places.

GGuest UserLocation: Can be tricky to find the first time as you need to turn onto Cyril Street. Look across the road for the white building with red writing. Check-in: easy and fast. The man on reception is friendly and organised, just a lovely receptionist. There is a bond of $200; be organised and you’ll save your time and the receptionist’s time. You can pay the bond in cash. Parking: great, BUT there are some permanents living there and so you might want to park away from them… you will see immediately where you should not park :) clean parking area. Seemed organised. Room: very clean, comfortable. There are no knives, forks or plates, but there is a kettle and a microwave. Teas coffees, etc. six milk pods, so maybe bring milk if you need more. Really make sure that you close the door properly or it will seem shut, but not actually be shut and will open :) Good curtains in the room that block out the light from outside. I noticed a fair amount of security cameras outside on the walkway, which was reassuring. Fantastic showers with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The bed is firm, but I liked it. Would or wouldn’t stay again? Unfortunately, no, not while they are acting as ‘crisis accommodation’. The staff and room were great, but there are some undesirables living there who kept us awake all night. Not exaggerating when I say, did not sleep AT ALL. We were up and down to check on the car - the permanents were screaming, fighting - some real Jerry Springer stuff. I was upstairs and the people next to me had a dog that barked all night, in addition to the couple screaming at each other :/ Downstairs, fighting, screaming constantly. it sounded like something got broken downstairs. A guy on a motorbike kept coming and going, visiting the permanents downstairs and talking super loudly, then more yelling and fighting after he tore off on his bike. I didn’t feel safe; I expected the car to get damaged. I realise those people’s behaviour is not the motel’s fault, but I was so tired the next day that I got a migraine and yeah, still fending it off now, day after. Not impressed with those feral permanents. It’s a shame because the staff and rooms are great

GGuest UserVery easy check in. Instructions by reception were spot on.  The one bedroom apartment was huge. Plenty of room with an equally huge balcony.  The place was clean, apart from one of the towels that had some type of hard black stain that stick do towels to it’s self. Not ideal, but this would be an issue with the laundry company that Quest use.  I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend.
