I loved this place, and boutique describes it well. From the moment I set foot in the front door I felt right at home with the friendly welcome. Staff could not do enough to help, and their smiles brightened the day of this weary traveller. This extended to the crew staffing the restaurant and bar on the fourth floor where I enjoyed a few very well priced cocktails while soaking up the city views. My room was comfortable and clean and the bed was dreamy. And talk about location!!! A moments walk from gardens and walking street shopping with a charming little bar next door. The biggest problem I had was deciding what to eat for breakfast which the ample options on offer. I highly recommend

I booked this hotel to visit the Shanghai Museum early in the morning, and it's incredibly close – just a short walk over the Yan'an Middle Road overpass. The hallway has a classic old Shanghai vibe. The room isn't huge, but it has a smart toilet. My east-facing window didn't overlook the street, and I could even see the tops of Shanghai Tower and the Shanghai World Financial Center. The location is truly excellent. It's only about 200 meters to Hong Kuijia for late-night snacks, and the Line 8 Metro station is also very close.

The rooms here are luxurious and comfortable, truly a top-tier luxury hotel in China. I'd give this hotel 120 points – 100 for the hotel itself, and the extra 20 for two outstanding individuals. First, May Bao at the front desk. I checked in late, and she was incredibly attentive, even upgrading my room type. Second, Pacino Huang, the male manager at the restaurant. His service was absolutely exceptional, even more professional than the Park Hyatt in Osaka where I've stayed. He helped arrange my dinner at the restaurant, personally brought over the dessert for breakfast, showed genuine care for my child's preferences, and even shared health and wellness tips. It was truly moving and incredibly professional. The hotel's location is superb, within walking distance to The Bund, and the terrace offers direct views of Shanghai's beautiful skyline. My stay was incredibly comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel, their service is simply phenomenal!

The hotel facilities aren't brand new, and it doesn't have all the trendy, flashy stuff you see in influencer-style hotels, but it has everything you need. The AC and hot water work great, the bed is very comfortable, and the toiletries are all there. It's perfectly adequate for a regular stay and doesn't detract from the experience at all – truly great value for money. Honestly, when I stay at a hotel, I don't look for luxury; attentive service and cleanliness are enough. This hotel doesn't rely on gimmicks; it's all about genuine care. It's perfect whether you're traveling for leisure or business, and it's definitely a place I'd choose again next time. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

From the moment you push open the revolving doors, you embark on a journey through time. The hotel's exterior boasts a distinctive look, with staggered balconies adorned with fresh blue hydrangeas. The soft, creamy white walls, paired with vintage geometric carvings, make it a quiet and elegant presence amidst the city's bustling traffic. Looking up, a red-brick Gothic church tower stands nearby, new and old architecture echoing each other. On one side, the clamor of a modern metropolis; on the other, the charm of old Shanghai, steeped in a hundred years of history – the atmosphere is absolutely captivating. Stepping into the lobby, the street noise instantly fades away. Retro patterned marble floors stretch forward, while the high, vaulted stained-glass ceiling casts a dazzling light. Sunlight filters through, creating shifting patterns and an overwhelming sense of history. In the center of the hall stands an elegant black grand piano, poised as if ready to play the enchanting melodies of old Shanghai. Colonnades, vintage chandeliers, exquisite floral arrangements – the recent renovation hasn't erased the building's original historical essence but has instead perfectly blended modern comfort with old-world elegance. Every detail is worth a moment's appreciation. The guest rooms continue the serene and elegant style. Dark brown wooden doorframes and a headboard featuring red and gold vintage patterns are complemented by a soft, sophisticated carpet. There are no overly flamboyant decorations; it's understated yet luxurious. The bed is soft and comfortable, the room is bright and airy, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city. At night, closing the windows effectively blocks out street noise, ensuring a peaceful sleep. The bathroom is spacious, with marble countertops, a retro carved mirror, and even a bathtub. After a long day, a hot bath washes away travel fatigue. The amenities truly live up to the standard of a well-established luxury hotel. The geographical location is undoubtedly the hotel's strongest asset. Situated in the city center, Huangpu District, it's within walking distance of key attractions like People's Square, The Bund, and Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. Stepping out, you're right in the vibrant streets of Shanghai, making transportation incredibly convenient for sightseeing and dining. Of course, a century-old building will inevitably bear the marks of time. Compared to newly built hotels, the room layouts here have a unique retro charm. But this unparalleled sense of historical atmosphere is precisely the most precious gift the Yangtze Hotel offers. If you're tired of generic chain hotels and wish to understand Shanghai in a different way, the Yangtze Hotel is an excellent choice. Here, you're not just staying in a room; you're living a forgotten chapter of the city's past, a gentle reunion with old Shanghai.

The environment at Star River Bay is consistently excellent. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the facilities are well-maintained. The breakfast offers a wide variety of choices. A special thanks to front desk staff member Xiaoguan, who provided warm and professional service. Check-in was efficient, and she thoughtfully helped us arrange a room with a great view. Any issues we had were addressed quickly, making us feel completely at ease throughout our stay. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shanghai! 👍

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, very close to The Bund and White Magnolia Plaza. The room had large floor-to-ceiling windows, was clean and spacious, and the facilities were well-maintained. The front desk staff and hotel butler provided meticulous and thoughtful service. The indoor circular pool was huge; soaking in the pool and admiring the bustling night view of Lujiazui outside the window completely washed away travel fatigue. The hotel has an observation deck on the top floor, and the complimentary travel photography was excellent. From the second-floor corridor of the hotel, you can walk along the river to The Bund, enjoying the gentle breeze and the vibrant cityscape of Shanghai. I was very satisfied with this trip!👍

The former Four Seasons Hotel, now rebranded as Regent, is overall very well-balanced in all four aspects, with consistently high-quality offerings. It offers excellent value for money in this location. Here are a few points I found outstanding: 1. The toiletries are not fixed to the wall, but also cannot be opened to prevent tampering. This is great because it allows for easy bubble baths or use in the bathtub without affecting the experience. This is a brilliant feature. 2. For a hotel that opened over a decade ago, the overall maintenance is remarkably good. Compared to other hotels with outdated decor, the Regent Pudong has held up very well. Here are a few points I think could be improved: 1. Why was there no concierge contact before my two-night consecutive stay? Does the hotel not have a Guest Relations Officer (GRO)? I don't understand this, as it would make communication much easier. Even if some guests prefer not to connect, they should at least be asked. 2. Previously, I believe they provided a toiletry bag or kit; now they just give cardboard boxes. This is not how you save on operating costs. 3. There was an issue with the air conditioning not cooling. Instead of offering a fruit platter as compensation, why not just offer breakfast? Overall, I highly recommend staying here. I didn't find any issues with cleanliness, the linen cart was also quite clean, and all special requests were met. Giving it a 5.0.

This was my second stay here, and the check-in process was very smooth. Mina at the front desk was warm and efficient. She patiently explained the hotel facilities to us, including the wine shop and the lobby bar. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it was perfectly adequate for a family with children and seniors, offering both Western and Chinese options. However, the noodle chef was completely silent and had a cold expression, so we had to guess whether our order was successful. The room had a slight musty smell, but otherwise, the hygiene was excellent.

Located in Hongkou District, it's a bit far from the Bund, but transportation is convenient. 1. You can see the 'three-piece suit' of Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center, and Shanghai Tower, even if it's just a glimpse. It's truly beautiful, especially at night. The open-plan suite has a comfortable layout. 2. The desk flipping open to reveal a vanity mirror is a huge plus. 3. The ceramic jar next to the bed for charging cables is very unique. 4. The welcome snacks have a distinctive Shanghai flavor. They even gave a fridge magnet of a Shanghai landmark at checkout, but I have to complain that it doesn't stick well. I suggest changing the type; this is a minor flaw.
