How to Get to Universal Studios Singapore: Transportation Guide

Universal Studios Singapore (USS) is located on Sentosa Island, just minutes from the mainland. Getting there is incredibly straightforward, with options ranging from budget-friendly public transit to scenic aerial routes.

The Most Popular Route: MRT + Sentosa Express (Monorail)

This is the most efficient and seamless way to reach the park for most independent travelers.

  • Step 1: Take the MRT (North-East Line or Circle Line) and alight at HarbourFront Station.
  • Step 2: Take Exit E to enter VivoCity shopping mall, and head up to Level 3.
  • Step 3: Board the Sentosa Express monorail and travel just one stop, alighting at Resorts World Station (formerly Waterfront Station).
  • Step 4: Follow the signs for a short 2-minute walk straight to the USS globe.
  • 💰 Cost: Approx. $4.50 AUD ($4.00 SGD). You can simply tap and go at the gantry using your contactless Australian bank card (Visa/Mastercard) or an EZ-Link card. Note: Leaving the island via the monorail is completely free!

Sentosa Boardwalk (Walking)

If you prefer a leisurely stroll and want to save a few dollars, walking across the covered boardwalk is highly recommended.

  • How to do it: From VivoCity Level 1, follow the signs out to the Sentosa Boardwalk. The 800-meter path features lush landscaping and canopy-covered travelators (moving walkways) to save your energy.
  • Travel Time: A pleasant 15 to 20-minute walk.
  • 💰 Cost: Free! Island entry via the boardwalk is free of charge.

Public Bus

Taking a direct bus drops you right into the basement of Resorts World Sentosa, eliminating the need to transfer at VivoCity.

  • From the city center: Board Bus 123, which runs through major areas like Orchard Road, Somerset, and Havelock, and drops you off directly at the Resorts World Sentosa bus stop.
  • From VivoCity: You can also catch the dedicated RWS8 bus from the VivoCity bus stop (Stop 14141). It takes you straight into the RWS basement for a flat fare of approx. $2.20 AUD.

Taxi or Ride-Hailing (Grab)

Perfect for families, groups, or anyone looking to maximize their park time without navigating crowds.

  • How to do it: Set your destination on Grab (or instruct your taxi driver) to Resorts World Sentosa Underground Drop-off Point.
  • Where to walk: Once dropped off in the basement, take the escalators up to Level 1 and follow the clear signage straight to the Universal Studios entrance.
  • 💰 Cost: Standard metered fare or Grab app pricing, plus an island vehicle admission fee ranging from approx. $2.20 to $6.70 AUD depending on the time of day.

Singapore Cable Car

If you want to turn your transit into a memorable sightseeing experience, arriving by air is the ultimate choice.

  • How to do it: Head to the HarbourFront Tower II cable car station (near HarbourFront MRT). Board the Mount Faber Line and enjoy 360-degree aerial views of the harbor as you cross over to Sentosa Station. From there, it is a short walk to the park or a quick intra-island bus/monorail transfer.

The room was decent, comparable to a mid-range hotel like Ji Hotel or Atour in China. For the price in Singapore, it was alright. The service, however, was just okay, not particularly warm. When I arrived, no one helped with my luggage from the car, and when I mentioned I was in a hurry to check out, the front desk staff was unhurried and quite perfunctory. Interestingly, they were exceptionally enthusiastic with English-speaking foreigners. Perhaps many Chinese tourists stay here at this price point, leading to a noticeable difference in service attitude. I wouldn't have stayed here if my wife and kids hadn't changed their plans and returned to China unexpectedly.

This hotel was the best one our family of three stayed at during our trip to Singapore. Since mid-July is my husband's and my wedding anniversary, I noted it on the booking. The hotel was incredibly thoughtful! Because of a typhoon, I only booked the night before. When we checked in, not only was the room decorated, but there were also cute drawings on the mirror and a lovely little card. When we returned to the hotel after exploring, there was even a row of mini cakes on the table! We were truly touched. Plus, there were many staff members who spoke Chinese and were willing to communicate in Chinese, unlike some of the later hotels where staff clearly understood Chinese but wouldn't use it. Their hotel is also very clean and beautiful! The pool is spotless and the gym has a great selection of equipment. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Singapore!

My stay at Marina Bay Sands Singapore was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend it! The hotel's location is excellent, directly connected to a mall, and within walking distance of famous attractions like Gardens by the Bay and Merlion Park, making getting around incredibly convenient. Check-in was efficient, and the staff were warm and professional, providing attentive service throughout, truly reflecting a five-star hotel experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a modern design and immaculate cleanliness. The bed was soft, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a wonderfully comfortable night's sleep. What truly impressed me most was the room's view – whether it was the city skyline or the Marina Bay night view, both were absolutely stunning. The hotel's infinity pool definitely lives up to its reputation; the views are unforgettable and it's an absolute must-visit spot when in Singapore. The breakfast spread was extensive, with a great variety of both Western and Asian options, all of which tasted delicious. Overall, everything from the environment and facilities to the service was impeccable. It was a very enjoyable and memorable stay. If I ever visit Singapore again, I will definitely choose this hotel, and I'll be recommending it to all my friends and family!

I was quite anxious before my trip, worried about bad service or a poor room. However, as soon as I entered the lobby, someone immediately came to help with my luggage without any differential treatment, which instantly put me at ease. I had booked two months in advance, and at check-in, the front desk even specifically mentioned the requests I made in my booking email and assigned the room accordingly – truly excellent! The room was very clean and spacious; even with two 26-inch suitcases open, there was still plenty of room. The bedding didn't feel damp or anything, and I slept very comfortably until morning. The hotel's location is excellent; you can walk to several popular attractions nearby. Downstairs, there are plenty of dining options, and the metro and bus lines are also very convenient. I've already recommended it to friends, and if I visit Singapore again, I'll definitely choose this hotel.

Our stay at Wyndham during this Singapore trip was very satisfying! The downtown location is incredibly convenient, with the subway close by and plenty of dining and shopping options. The room was spotlessly clean, making our stay comfortable and worry-free. The staff were friendly and attentive. In our free time, we could relax by the pool, which was great for unwinding after a long day of travel. Commuting to all the major attractions was quick and easy, making it suitable for both couples and families. Overall, the experience exceeded our expectations and comes highly recommended.

I've stayed here many times. The price is reasonable, and I'm very satisfied with how clean the rooms are. Plus, it's super convenient having an MRT station and a shopping mall nearby! 👍 There's a dessert shop called 'Yat Ka Yan' nearby that I highly recommend! Also, the ban mian shop downstairs is open really late, until 3 AM.

I booked the Queen Connecting Room. The room size wasn't very big, and the decor felt a bit dated, but the bed was very comfortable, and the service was prompt. The room had local power outlets, so no adapter was needed, which was convenient. The breakfast selection was a bit limited, but items were replenished quickly. My stay at Studio M Hotel Singapore was a mixed experience that balanced comfort with a frustrating service encounter. On the positive side, the rooms are thoughtfully designed and stand out from typical city hotels. The loft-style layout gives a sense of space that feels both modern and functional, especially for a short stay. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the overall aesthetic had a sleek, contemporary vibe that makes it appealing for both business and leisure travelers. The location is also a strong advantage. Situated along the Singapore River, it offers easy access to dining spots and is within reasonable distance of key areas like Clarke Quay. It’s convenient enough without being right in the middle of the noise, which I appreciated. However, the experience was let down by the lack of flexibility from the front desk staff. During check-in, I did not have my IC or passport on hand, and while I understand the need for verification, the handling of the situation felt unnecessarily rigid. There was little effort to explore alternative solutions or offer reassurance, which made the process more stressful than it needed to be. In a hospitality setting, a bit of understanding and problem-solving goes a long way, and this was noticeably lacking. That said, once past the check-in issue, the rest of the stay was relatively smooth. The facilities were decent, and housekeeping maintained a good standard throughout. Overall, Studio M delivers well on comfort, design, and location, but the service experience—particularly at the front desk—could benefit from a more guest-centric approach. It’s a great place to stay if everything goes according to plan, but if you run into any hiccups, be prepared for a by-the-book response rather than a flexible one.

I had been here several times, staying at both wings. I like the pool. This time, like the previous time..the wifi wasn’t working well but this time, it has caused some “major” issues and inconvenience! I can’t be reached for hours! I called reception for help and eventually they sent staff to my room to settle the issue for me! Thankful and grateful for that. All the rest are good for a short stay.

Facilities: All essential amenities are provided, including disposable toiletries, towels, bath towels, a hairdryer, and even a mini-fridge and an iron (though I didn't use it). The second floor offers a private space with power outlets and a desk. It's compact but sufficient; a 20-inch suitcase can be laid out on the desk, and downstairs, two 24-inch suitcases can easily be opened simultaneously. The bathroom has drinkable tap water. Cleanliness: Very clean, no insects or anything of the sort. Environment: I'm really satisfied. The hallway is very quiet, and the soundproofing is excellent; you can't hear any noise during resting hours. The air conditioning is powerful. Service: The room includes complimentary snacks, tea bags, and coffee, but beverages are extra. Every morning when I left, I’d encounter the housekeeping staff, with whom I could communicate using simple English. The front desk service is great, and they offer free luggage storage. Security is also excellent; you need to use your room key card to access your designated floor. From 3 PM to 6 PM, there's complimentary ice cream. Although breakfast isn't included, there are breakfast spots on the first floor and downstairs at the hotel opposite the All Seasons building, as well as in the mall across from the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. Transportation is also very convenient! The MRT and bus stops are incredibly close, and Dhoby Ghaut is an interchange for three MRT lines. Bus 36, which goes directly to the airport, is also nearby (just make sure you're going in the right direction). One more important thing! Fort Canning Park is nearby, and the famous 'tree tunnel' photo spot is right downstairs from the All Seasons building! It's very easy to find, so if you arrive early, you can go take your photos right away. All in all, my trip to Singapore was made even better because of this hotel.☺️

Right next to Wild Wild Wet, my kids, who weren't very enthusiastic at first, became super excited once they saw the facilities. Being able to get to the ocean quickly and encountering wildlife we don't usually see was also a plus. We had trouble because there was no tissue or drinking water (though you can buy it at the shop), and while there's nothing that can be done about it, I was surprised by how ants appeared out of nowhere. I don't think we left any ant-attracting food out, but perhaps something happened. Despite these minor issues, the location was excellent, and the room was clean. I think this is a great hotel for families with small children.

The room was quite clean, but even the one-meter bed was a bit small and not suitable for two people. Luckily, there was a sofa for the younger child to sleep on; otherwise, two people sharing one bed would have been quite uncomfortable. The hotel's location is good, close to both the subway and bus stops. Overall, it was also quite clean, though it was a bit disappointing that no complimentary bottled water was provided. The bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan, but thankfully, odors dissipated quickly. For a hotel in this price range, it was pretty decent! One major advantage is that there's a large shopping mall right within the hotel. The supermarket on the lowest floor was the best; I only discovered it on my last day after staying for three nights, which was a shame.

This is an older hotel with basic facilities. It's comparable to a 3-star hotel in China, and the breakfast is about what you'd expect from a 3-4 star hotel there. Of course, the price is also around 300, but in Singapore dollars. If you're not traveling with family, you'd find much better standard room options and accommodations for the same price. Our family of four stayed here specifically for the two large beds. The hotel's location isn't far from the MRT station. Haji Lane and BOSS HOTEL (the starting point for the Legoland shuttle) are all within walking distance, and there are many bus routes nearby, making transportation very convenient. There are plenty of food and drink options downstairs, and there's an Indian minimart across the street from the hotel that's much cheaper than the 7-Eleven down the block. I misplaced something and when I called, they immediately knew which room I was in and what I had lost, which shows excellent coordination between the front desk and housekeeping. Thumbs up for that!

Great location situated right between Lavender and Bugis stations. It’s very convenient for traveling to Bugis for shopping or heading over to Chinatown. The room offered good value for money; it was reasonably sized and kept very clean. My only minor complaint is that the soundproofing could be better, as noise from hallway was audible. However, for a short one-night solo stay, it wasn't a major issue and I was generally satisfied.

The location was super convenient for Universal Studios. We spent one day there and another day at Sentosa and the S.E.A. Aquarium. It was also easy to grab a meal at Vivocity on the way back. Plus, the bus stop for Singapore-Malaysia buses was within walking distance, which was a huge plus. Honestly, convenience is the main takeaway here!

The hotel's location is excellent. The bus stop is a short walk to the left, and the metro station is a short walk to the right, both just a few minutes away. The staff are very helpful and friendly, answering all our questions in detail and clearly. We were able to store our luggage for free after check-out, which was great as we checked out at noon and didn't pick it up until 10 PM. Getting to the airport by metro is also very convenient. As for the room, you get what you pay for. At this price point, it's one of the cheapest options in this area. The rooms are quite small; two people have to squeeze past each other to move around. However, it's a case of 'small but perfectly formed' – it has everything you need. Even hotels costing over a thousand yuan here only offer about 15 square meters, so for around 500 yuan, this place offers decent value for money.

The location is great, about a five or six-minute walk to Fort Canning MRT station, and the surrounding area is lovely. It's also very close to the bustling city center with malls, convenience stores, food, and coffee shops all nearby. The room was larger than I expected, with enough space for two suitcases. The view from outside was also very good. There's a pool on the 2nd floor, but I didn't have time to use it. The hotel had a lot of guests and felt lively. The only downsides were the lack of disposable slippers and the inconvenient shower gel/shampoo, which you'd need to bring yourself. However, there was tea and coffee, and you could boil your own water. The cleaning staff, especially the gentlemen, were very nice and polite, and the room was kept very clean! Overall, I'd definitely recommend it. You can book with confidence.

This is an older hotel, and the family room was surprisingly spacious for Singapore standards! The facilities are quite dated, but still clean and tidy. While it couldn't escape the typical musty smell you find in Singapore hotels, overall, it offers good value for money. The bathroom definitely felt old, reminiscent of an older 3-star hotel in China. I'd recommend bringing your own towels. They do provide disposable slippers and toothbrushes. The location is convenient, with a bus stop right outside.

Orchard Road Singapore|3.66km from downtown
The hotel is located right on Orchard Road, an 8-10 minute walk to Orchard MRT Station (NS22). Right outside, you'll find numerous large shopping malls (ION, Ngee Ann City), with plenty of dining options, shopping, and convenience stores. The MRT offers direct access to Marina Bay, Chinatown, and Little India. Bus route 36 from the airport stops directly in front of the hotel, and a taxi ride to Changi takes about 30 minutes. 2. Facilities & Service - The rooms are clean, the bedding is very comfortable, and the water pressure is stable. Each room has a direct drinking water tap, so there's no need to buy bottled water. - Robot delivery service is available, and there are Chinese-speaking staff at the 24-hour front desk. Free luggage storage is also provided. - On the 10th floor, there's an outdoor small swimming pool, a gym, and a bar. After a day of sightseeing, you can relax with a swim, and the pool offers city street views.

The rooms were really nice. My friend and I booked three rooms, and ours faced the pool and the ocean directly, so my kid would watch the pool downstairs every morning after waking up. It was also very convenient to take the MRT to Universal Studios. The hotel had a high occupancy rate, so if you arrived early, you could register your information at the front desk, go out for a stroll, and then come back for your room key.

The front desk didn't have any Chinese-speaking staff, but their English was quite standard. The room size was spacious and not cramped. A minor inconvenience was the lack of outlets next to the bedside tables; instead, they were on the side without one. I tried the pool, and the only downside is that you might feel like an animal in a zoo, observed by people in the surrounding high-rise buildings. Breakfast had very limited options and wasn't tasty, which was a definite negative. However, overall, the good outweighs the bad. To summarize, the room size is good, the location is convenient, the service is fine, and the facilities are decent.

Facilities: Comprehensive, with a pool and a gym. Cleanliness: Spotless and tidy. Environment: Small yet exquisite, its greatest asset being cleanliness and neatness. Service: Excellent! I emailed the hotel with a request, and they met it perfectly! Very satisfied. Convenient for getting around. It seems coffee at the hotel might be chargeable; you can inquire at the front desk for details. The hotel requires a deposit. I recommend exchanging more Singapore dollars, just in case.

The location is fantastic, just a few minutes' walk from the MRT station. It was super convenient to get to places like Marina Bay, Fort Canning, and Chinatown by subway. Haji Lane is right across from the hotel, with tons of food and shops. Suntec City mall, which has Song Fa Bak Kut Teh, is also an easy 15-minute walk away. Amazing! The staff were fabulous especially Vita and Sara, the cleanliness top notch and the buffet breakfast and dinner brilliant! They couldn’t do enough for you, if you needed anything you just had to ask, everyone was so friendly, it really made our stay in Singapore wonderful, we’d definitely like to return, not only to Singapore but the hotel too. The bonus was the pool and the food options by the pool, again, the staff there were great. And the views from our rooms were fantastic, I’d booked for my parents also and they saw the light show from the accross the bay, one evening.

Marina Bay Singapore|1.49km from downtown
First off, the location is excellent; it's right by the subway exit, which is super convenient. The Marina Bay night view is also stunning. However, there are no fireworks, no fireworks, no fireworks! What online sources say about seeing fireworks is inaccurate; you can't see them at all. On the night I stayed, it was a National Day fireworks rehearsal, and all I could hear were the sounds, but I couldn't see anything. Regarding hotel service, they claim to have Chinese-speaking staff, but it's very difficult to find them. Most don't speak Chinese and won't help you find someone who does. It's basically a situation where they speak a lot, and I don't understand, and what I say they don't quite get either. Aside from completing the check-in, I didn't really grasp a lot of what they said. However, perhaps because my registration included my son and daughter, when we entered the room, we found they had already thoughtfully added an extra bed for free, which made sleeping quite comfortable and was a great touch.

Marina Bay Singapore|1.61km from downtown
The hotel's location is convenient, connected to a shopping mall, allowing direct access to Marina Square via an escalator from the hotel's passage. After reaching the mall, turn right and walk straight to the end to find a bridge to Suntec City. The lobby is beautiful, and the room is clean and spacious, though it doesn't have a bathtub. The night view is stunning; the photo was taken from the 7th floor. The swimming pool is 1.2 meters deep and the water quality is clean. There's a wide variety of breakfast options, and the food tastes good. This hotel is very popular, so elevator wait times can be a bit longer, and they tend to be crowded. Overall, the check-in experience was satisfactory.

Staying at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering for this trip to Singapore far exceeded my expectations! The building, like an urban oasis, is incredibly distinctive with lush greenery all around, offering a sense of tranquility amidst the bustling city. The location is superb, within walking distance to Chinatown and Clarke Quay, and incredibly convenient for subway travel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained; the rooftop infinity pool had an amazing vibe. All staff members were polite, thoughtful, and promptly responsive. The food was exquisite and delicious. Whether for leisure sightseeing or urban exploration, this is an incredibly worthwhile hotel choice in Singapore. I will definitely prioritize staying here again on my next visit to Singapore. Highly recommended!

The room was nice and the surrounding area was very quiet! I stayed for several days, and on some of those days, my neighbors were Indian or Malaysian families with kids who made a lot of noise late into the night and started up again very early in the morning. However, the bedding was clean and comfortable, and the room design was sensible, making it look very tidy. I stayed here because I had an early flight the next morning. The location is perfect, as I could do some last-minute shopping at Jewel and prepare for my departure. It felt like a significantly upgraded capsule hotel bed, though I've never actually stayed in a capsule hotel before. However, the room was tiny. Once I opened my large suitcase, there was barely any space to move around. The shower only had a half-glass door, so if you took a vigorous shower, the floor near the toilet would get soaked. The water pressure was also incredibly weak. Shampoo and body wash were provided, but there was no conditioner. There were two USB ports for phone charging, but neither of them worked. I managed to charge my phone using an adapter I brought from Japan, but it was slow charging due to the weak current. It took about 5 hours to fully charge. I had some time before hotel check-in, so I stopped by the Priority Pass lounge at Jewel to charge my phone, which was a much more comfortable experience. The showers there were also much more luxurious. As soon as I entered the room, I found the pink lighting to be distasteful, like a love hotel. You could switch it off, but I couldn't relax at all in a pink room. The bed was plush and comfortable though, which was a plus.

This hotel in Singapore sees a lot of foot traffic. The doorman at the entrance, who was quite elderly, told me to push my luggage up the ramp myself instead of offering to help, even though I'm a woman. However, I saw him assist other foreign guests with their luggage multiple times, which made me wonder if I was overthinking it. The hotel is located at one end of Orchard Road, very close to the Botanic Gardens, which are within walking distance. While it's not very close to the MRT, there's a bus stop right outside. If you're coming from the airport, you can take a direct bus, though it takes a bit longer. The first Chinese staff member who assisted me spoke very standard Mandarin and was very easygoing. Many airline crew members stay at this hotel. The rooms are a bit small, and so are the beds. The hotel pool looks exactly like it does in the photos!
