Comparison: Vietnam eSIM, SIM Card, and Wi-Fi Rental

eSIM Vietnam | Data Prepaid for Travel

After the introduction above, you should now have a basic understanding of eSIMs. But how does an eSIM differ from a traditional SIM card or a portable Wi-Fi device? Let’s take a look at the comparison table below!

Vietnam eSIM

The full name of an eSIM is "embedded-SIM." It has become a highly discussed travel essential in recent years. It is a "buy-and-use" solution, with its biggest advantage being that it eliminates the need to physically swap SIM cards. You simply scan a QR Code to begin the installation process. Additionally, it is very affordably priced, offering excellent value for money (high CP value)!

Vietnam eSIM | SIM Card

A traditional SIM card requires you to remove your original SIM and insert a travel-specific one. Most smartphones are compatible. In terms of data, they usually come in fixed packages, so you’ll need to choose the one that best fits your needs. Furthermore, since you need to buy them online or at a counter, you must order in advance to ensure it arrives before your flight—otherwise, you might face the dilemma of leaving for your trip without your card!

Vietnam eSIM | Wi-Fi Rental (Pocket Wi-Fi)

Wi-Fi devices must be rented and returned, making them more suitable for group travel. The price is relatively cheap when split among multiple people. However, you must carry the device with you and keep an eye on its battery life. It is less ideal for solo travelers or groups that plan to split up during the day.
