"The hotel has been there for a long time and you can tell by some of the old fashioned furniture and details. Nevertheless it's not missing anything that any other 5 star hotel in Bali offers. The service is one of the best that I have ever experienced and without an eyeblink I would go back again. Highly recommended for couples and people in their 40s and above."

"The service and staff were fantastic. I was very impressed with the hotel inclusions, the helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms and resort. The 3 pools were idyllic, the gardens were immaculate. The food was fantastic. I was very impressed with the staff of the resort as I was not well and they took me to a Drs clinic bought me back to the resort and all the staff kept asking me how I was feeling and if I needed anything. They couldn't help me enough. I will definitely return to stay here again. One of my favourite places to stay. Highly recommend."

"Mixed emotions. We stayed for 2 days, and upon check-in it was discovered that there were no inputs in the room. The manager said the problem would be resolved within an hour. Despite the fact that the staff offered to wash by the pool, where the shower is outside in full view of everyone. A couple of hours later, the manager came and said that everything was fine, adjusted the water (it came out black, all the pipes were clogged and had to be flushed). After that we went to dinner and decided to wash ourselves before going to bed. It was my wife's birthday the next day. They also asked to clean the room and replace the towels, because during the setup, everything became dirty. Coming back from dinner, we asked if everything was okay and they answered yes. Arriving at the room, we found that there was no water again. This was very upsetting and we went to find out the situation at the reception, where the girls were sitting and trying to smooth out the situation. After calling the manager, we explained that it is not acceptable to live in a room all day where there is no water, you can’t even go to the toilet because there is nothing to flush it with. Staff again distinguished itself and offered a 1.5 liter bottle of water for flushing. Frustrated, we asked to rent us another hotel. The time was 23:00. Staff said that they called all around and there were no numbers. We offered to rent the hotel where we had lived for the past 2 days. It turned out there was a room for 1 night. And we agreed that we would spend the night there and return the next day. And so it happened! The next day the water problem was resolved. As for the Honemoon suite, it was damp, so there was no need for air conditioning and things got wet. Breakfast is standard. The staff are generally great, except for the manager. I understand that the problem affected the entire hotel, but why put people in when there is no water in the room, why say that everything is fine, and then we discover that there is no water in the room (1 time after brunch, 2 times after dinner). My wife said several times that it was her birthday, that there would be a photo shoot on the next giving day, and she needed clean hair, etc., and this could not be done without water. The manager promised to settle everything, but in the end he couldn’t. And at one point he said, okay, sorry for the situation, I’ll have the cake the next day. It's funny, but even here he didn't do anything. Therefore, in general, I didn’t like the hotel, nor did I like the room, the staff tried, but they had few resources for this. Although they rented a room to spend the night in another hotel. There's a spoonful of honey in the ointment."

"The hotel is very beautiful, the staff is very good and the overall is very good. Next to the hotel is the rice paddy, which is really rustic and feels that the surrounding villagers are very simple. But I don't know if it is too primitive. There will be ant bugs on the bed at night, and the little friends who stay in it must remember to scatter a little insect to sleep again. The lighting in the room is dark, and it is really quiet here. If you add psychological support, you will feel a bit gloomy at night. If you are a girl, you should consider it. We are all sleeping with lights on both nights. There is a private pool, and it’s cool to go naked, haha. The breakfast was super rich and I was most satisfied with the breakfast here. The spa here is really very good. It’s not expensive for a person to be around 150 for two hours, but he also charged me about 50 or so. I didn’t know what it was. I didn’t take it seriously, but it’s not It’s like pitting me, I don’t know if I have any other consumption, or it’s a service fee."

Bali Hotel Guide: Best Places to Stay in Seminyak, Ubud & Beyond

Bali is a traditional Australian vacation destination, and with good reason. Imagine pleasant beaches, picturesque rice terraces, and an unbeatable laid-back atmosphere. Explore the Sacred Monkey Forest, relax at a yoga retreat, or stroll through art markets in Ubud. Along the coast, locations like Seminyak and Kuta have delicious food, waves that are suitable for surfing, and breathtaking sunsets. Not to be overlooked are temples such as Uluwatu and Tanah Lot, which are ideal for an evening vista. You can enter the country from Australia and remain there for up to 30 days without a visa. Just make sure you have one blank page for the entrance stamp and that your passport is valid for at least six months. It's too simple.

Bali Hotel Guide:Nusa Lembongan

Bali's primary international gateway, Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), commonly called Denpasar Airport, is situated immediately south of the well-known beach towns of Kuta and Seminyak. It's easy to schedule a private transfer or hail a cab when you arrive at the contemporary, compact airport. Although they might be blocked in specific tourist areas, ride-hailing applications like Grab and Gojek are popular.

The majority of tourists use private drivers for day trips since they are flexible and reasonably priced. Only those with experience should ride scooters, which are popular for shorter distances, particularly in places like Canggu or Ubud. While walking is not the best option on major routes, it is an alternative in smaller communities.

Best Areas to Stay in Bali

Bali Hotel Guide:Hotels Near Ubud in Bali
  • Seminyak: Seminyak is a clear favorite if this is your first visit to Bali. This seaside region combines chic beach resorts, boutique stores, delicious dining, and exciting beach clubs—all conveniently located. Although it's not entirely walkable, it's simpler to navigate than many other areas of the island, and the atmosphere is laid-back yet elegant. Popular locations like Potato Head and Ku De Ta keep the action going day and night, while The Legian and W Bali – Seminyak offer beachfront luxury.
  • Ubud: Nestled among verdant rice terraces and nestled in the jungle, Ubud is the cultural center of Bali. You can get a smoothie at a peaceful café, take a yoga class, peruse local art markets, or simply unwind in a villa with a view of the valley. Ubud is ideal if you're interested in wellness or want to learn more about Balinese customs because it's calmer and cooler than the coast. Visit locations like the famous Hanging Gardens or Alila Ubud for a calm, picturesque stay.
  • Canggu: Surfers and digital nomads have come to love Canggu, a relaxed beach location. There will be plenty of waves, views of rice fields, relaxed cafés with strong coffee and quick Wi-Fi, and more smoothie bowls than you can count. Despite becoming busier every year, it has a younger, more laid-back attitude than Seminyak. Even though it's not a highly walkable location, getting around is made simple by scooters and ride-hailing applications. There are plenty of options for private villas and boutique hotels.
  • Nusa Dua: Bali's more refined and tranquil side can be seen in Nusa Dua. Some of the most opulent resorts on the island may be found there, situated alongside serene beaches with gated communities and well-kept gardens. For families or honeymooners who want to unwind and take in everything in one location, it's a fantastic option. Places like The St. Regis Bali Resort and Grand Hyatt Bali offer excellent service; imagine spa services, beachside relaxation, and all-day dining without the throngs of Kuta.

Bali's Top Activities

Bali Hotel Guide:Photos of TANAH LOT TEMPLE

  • Tegallalang Rice Terraces: These famous tiered rice fields, located just north of Ubud, are ideal for strolls, taking pictures of the sunrise, or enjoying a fresh coconut while taking in the scenery. It's colder and quieter in the early morning.
  • Uluwatu Temple: This sea temple, which is perched on a cliff above the Indian Ocean, provides breathtaking views of the sunset and a spectacular Kecak fire dance at twilight. Beware of cunning monkeys!
  • Seminyak Beas: Visit places like Potato Head or Ku De Ta to spend the day relaxing, surfing, or enjoying cocktails. Excellent for relaxed comfort and sunset views.

Great
GGuest UserIt was a very lovely resort, huge & had lots of activities. Very friendly/polite workers. They gave welcoming drinks and string bracelets (consist of 3 elements; The red element symbolizes creativity and bravely, the black element symbolizes powerful and protected us from bad spirit and white element symbolizes spirituality and goodness). They gave fruit platter in room. I accidentally missed a step on the front fountain at the entrance steps on my way out walking, twisted my ankle badly on the first day. My husband asked for an ice pack & they gave us a bucket of ice. That was lovely. Need to focus on cleanliness especially on bathroom - showers (slight molds) and bathtubs (painted on - in the first room before they moved us closer to our son. The paint was peeling off as we filled bathtub with water. The bathtub was slippery in the second room, my son fell in & hurt his back & hips. They managed to find me a room so that I could be together with my son (adjoining room) but the air conditioning was not working. I asked them for at least portable AC but they only gave us a pedestal fan. Gym was very tiny, not balance as there are over 500 rooms in the complex. Plus, lack of monitoring, water dispenser is empty. The squash balls aren’t pumped so it doesn’t bounce at all. Porter need to be extra careful when pushing trolley cart, I got struck with it from the back so hard. I injured myself but he didn’t mean it, he was very apologetic. Therefore we decided to checkout one day early, even though we paid for it. I asked for lunch as a swap and paid the difference since we won’t be around for the next day breakfast (due to early checkout) but not possible but instead they did prepare & pack-up breakfast boxes in advance. That was lovely of them.

VVictorAh, ”Gradmas” in Bali! It seems you're likely referring to one of the Grandmas Plus Hotels in Bali, specifically Grandmas Plus Hotel Seminyak or Grandmas Plus Hotel Airport. They are popular budget-friendly options in Bali. To give you a good review, I can summarize what people generally say about them, but if you stayed at a specific Grandmas Plus Hotel, let me know which one (e.g., Seminyak, Airport, Legian), and I can tailor the review even more. Here's a general overview of what people often say about Grandmas Plus Hotels in Bali, combining common feedback: Grandmas Plus Hotels, Bali (General Review) Overall Impression: Generally, Grandmas Plus Hotels are well-regarded as excellent value-for-money options, especially for budget travelers, solo travelers, and those looking for a convenient location. They often receive high ratings for their service and cleanliness. What people like most: * Excellent Location: This is a consistent highlight. * Seminyak: Very close to Seminyak Beach (often cited as a 5-minute walk) and within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and bars. This makes it ideal for those wanting to explore the vibrant Seminyak area. * Airport: Convenient for early flights or quick stopovers due to its proximity to the airport. * Friendly and Helpful Staff: Many guests praise the staff for being amicable, attentive, and going out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. They often mention the staff's smiles and willingness to help. * Cleanliness: The rooms and common areas are consistently described as sparkling clean and well-maintained. * Value for Money: Guests frequently mention that the price paid for the amenities and location is a great deal. * Breakfast: Often receives positive remarks for being good, and sometimes even offering a ”different gourmet food selection” daily. * Amenities: While generally basic, they offer essential amenities. Some locations have a pool, and many have a connected restaurant/bar. In-house spas are also mentioned as a plus. * Comfort Rooms (after checkout): Some hotels in the chain offer a ”comfort room” which is a nice touch for guests with later flights. What people like least (or areas for improvement): * Room Size: A very common comment is that the rooms can be ”compact,” ”small,” or ”cramped,” especially for families. While well-designed and clean, they might feel a bit tight for some. * Noise: Depending on the room location, street noise, music, or bar noises can be audible, especially in Seminyak, which is a lively area. * Bathroom Ventilation/Issues: Some reviews mention a lack of exhaust fans in bathrooms, or occasional issues like drainage smells or spots on tiles. * Pool Size/Quality: For the Seminyak location, the pool is sometimes described as ”tiny” or ”very poor” and can get crowded. * Limited Amenities: While good for the price, some guests might miss certain features like mini-fridges or electric kettles in the rooms (though free mineral water is usually provided). Would I recommend this hotel? Based on common reviews, yes, I would recommend Grandmas Plus Hotels, especially if you are: * A budget-conscious traveler. * Looking for a hotel with an excellent, central location (Seminyak) or close to the airport. * Prioritizing friendly service and cleanliness over spacious rooms or extensive luxury amenities. * Traveling solo or as a couple (larger groups or families might find rooms a bit small). They are often described as a great base for exploring Bali, offering a comfortable and practical stay without a hefty price tag.

GGuest UserWhen I checked into the room there were a number of things missing (towels, robe, slippers, some toiletries) and there was a delay because of a “supply” issue but a few hours later most of these had been provided. The towels were a bit damp (not drying easily in wet season). This time there was no moisturiser provided. The whole resort is in the process of being repaired in part and a lot is looking a bit tired. Had some poor experiences at the restaurant. At night after rain there are a lot of insects at the Jivva club restaurant and there are no fans or deterrent to help disperse insects
