"Great stay there. Rooms are comfortable and breakfast is incredible but crowded . Lots of variety of cheese , Asian and western food , with coffee , tea and juices (not fresh fruit). Swimming pool is huge and better be earlier to get a chair around 10am or after 14:00. Food is reasonable price at the pool, and it is really delicious. There is a very nice gym with cold and a hot tub , steam and sauna. Sometimes there is free yoga class at 08:00 am (I think on Wednesdays), but remember to put your name the day before in the gym reception. Lots of walk in couldn’t do because number is limited to 15 people. Gaming room is quite fun with PS5, some retro arcade (they need some maintenance as some buttons weren’t working), and a billiard table . Unfortunately the billiard table should limit each guest to use for 30 minutes and make a reservation list so everyone can have a chance to play. Sometimes kids stay for hours and there is no chance for others to play."

"Bali Seminyak Beach Hotel Indigo: A Designer's Review As a designer, I appreciate how this hotel masterfully blends Balinese craft with contemporary aesthetics. The lobby's wooden screens reinterpret traditional Songket fabric patterns - a subtle nod to local culture through a modern lens. Rooms are thoughtfully designed. The 50 sqm Partial Ocean View room cleverly balances function and beauty with its spa-style bathroom and private balcony featuring a daybed. Local materials and vibrant colors create warmth without sacrificing modern comforts. The property's five pools are highlights. The ”Secret Garden” adult pool and beachfront waterfall pool seamlessly merge with the landscape, creating that perfect indoor-outdoor flow Bali is known for. At sunset, the infinity pool's visual connection to the ocean is pure magic. What sets this hotel apart is how it integrates community culture. The pottery-themed café and SugarSand Beach Club with bamboo structures don't feel like hotel facilities - they're living spaces connected to Seminyak's creative energy. Minor notes: some rooms show humidity traces (expected in tropical climate), and pools get crowded at peak hours. But overall, Hotel Indigo succeeds where many fail - it doesn't just use local elements as decoration, but reinterprets Balinese spirit for modern travelers. For designers seeking inspiration, this hotel offers a masterclass in cultural translation through design."

"The hotel room and facilities were very clean and well-maintained. Most of the staff spoke English and were very friendly. As expected from a W Hotel, the main building had a very trendy interior, and the villa was neat. There were especially many spots where you could definitely take Instagram-worthy photos. They also provided a dehumidifier in the room, which made our stay even more comfortable. It was worth the money."

"I had a great time at the Jayakarta. The staff were very friendly and as a solo traveller, they made the effort to speak to me. The pools were so lovely! The temperature was just right! I also booked a flower bath and massage in the resort...very good! The food was really good and the cocktails even better! They also had hair braiders in the resort, so I got my hair done! My only slight criticism was the room. I didn't feel my room was quite on par with other hotels I've stayed in. I didn't complain but my bed sheets were stained, and I didn't feel all that comfortable in there. There wasn't a hairdryer in the room either, but the staff did bring me one on request. I just felt like they need to buy new towels and bed sheets. I got the sense they were washed and 'clean' but old and like I say, stained. I've stayed in hostels of better room standards sadly. But everything else was really good!"

"Great place to spend a few days with kids. Great pool for everyone and the surfers in the family can easily grab some waves throughout the day. Try to get an ocean view room, they are newer and much nicer than the other rooms. I do wish the food was a little better; the kitchen & management need to step up the quality of food to be fresher and more natural. They haven't had Acai bowls in months (which is on their menu)...Acai bowls and other smoothie bowls are served all around Bali so they are easy to do. "

"The Trans was absolutely one of my favorite resorts I’ve stayed! From the moment we entered the lobby the staff were so friendly and attentive.  Highlights - the gym (so clean and beautiful, and the waterfall crashing behind was stunning!) Breakfast - so damn good and with a huge range of options to choose from. I couldn’t get to everything I wanted because there was just too much haha. The rooms - beautifully appointed and so clean. The pool - loved it! I also loved that the pool was quite deep. I hate going to a resort and having the water be below my shoulders 😅  The highlight-iest (yes I made that word up) highlight - the bed and pillows!!! Over my weeks visit I had the best nights sleeps in years. I’ve never seen or used pillows like these - I only wish they could be purchased because I’d be buying a lifetime’s supply!!  Special mentions - ALL the staff were incredible, but I’d like to make a special mention to July and Sinitta. They were both so helpful and friendly. A real asset to The Trans. Thank you for a wonderful week. If I return to Bali in the future it will definitely be to The Trans."

"As shown in the pictures, the room is exceptional. It offers a spacious layout with a king-size bed, a large bathtub, and a patio sofa on the balcony overlooking the pool. The room also features a separate shower and toilet, along with a minibar and coffee machine for added convenience. Breakfast was decent, and the overall service was excellent. The hotel is conveniently located—just a 3-minute walk to Kuta Beach and about 10 minutes to Beachwalk Shopping Centre. There are plenty of eateries, bars, massage centers, and convenience stores nearby. The pool looked amazing, but unfortunately, we didn’t get the chance to use it due to time constraints during our short 2-night stay. Otherwise, I would highly recommend The Stones for a comfortable and relaxing resort experience in Legian."

"I booked a room through trip.com but trip did not know the Nikko pool was closed for renovations for 3 months. This information was mentioned on the Nikko Hotel website so Trip should have reported on this issue when I reserved the room. As the main feature is the pool it was very disappointing it was closed. The hotel is very dated and the facilities are old. However the room was in excellent condition and the service and location were good."

"We absolutely loved the magani, the location is right near shopping precincts without being too noisy (we were higher floor) and the restaurant is great. What would make this hotel a non fault would be a bigger pool area, if we had a bigger family we likely wouldn’t stay there as there are many with kids pools etc, but that’s not enough for us to fault the hotel. Lovely accommodating staff as well which is great!"

Bali Hotel Guide: Best Places to Stay in Seminyak, Ubud & Beyond

Bali is a traditional Australian vacation destination, and with good reason. Imagine pleasant beaches, picturesque rice terraces, and an unbeatable laid-back atmosphere. Explore the Sacred Monkey Forest, relax at a yoga retreat, or stroll through art markets in Ubud. Along the coast, locations like Seminyak and Kuta have delicious food, waves that are suitable for surfing, and breathtaking sunsets. Not to be overlooked are temples such as Uluwatu and Tanah Lot, which are ideal for an evening vista. You can enter the country from Australia and remain there for up to 30 days without a visa. Just make sure you have one blank page for the entrance stamp and that your passport is valid for at least six months. It's too simple.

Bali Hotel Guide:Nusa Lembongan

Bali's primary international gateway, Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), commonly called Denpasar Airport, is situated immediately south of the well-known beach towns of Kuta and Seminyak. It's easy to schedule a private transfer or hail a cab when you arrive at the contemporary, compact airport. Although they might be blocked in specific tourist areas, ride-hailing applications like Grab and Gojek are popular.

The majority of tourists use private drivers for day trips since they are flexible and reasonably priced. Only those with experience should ride scooters, which are popular for shorter distances, particularly in places like Canggu or Ubud. While walking is not the best option on major routes, it is an alternative in smaller communities.

Best Areas to Stay in Bali

Bali Hotel Guide:Hotels Near Ubud in Bali
  • Seminyak: Seminyak is a clear favorite if this is your first visit to Bali. This seaside region combines chic beach resorts, boutique stores, delicious dining, and exciting beach clubs—all conveniently located. Although it's not entirely walkable, it's simpler to navigate than many other areas of the island, and the atmosphere is laid-back yet elegant. Popular locations like Potato Head and Ku De Ta keep the action going day and night, while The Legian and W Bali – Seminyak offer beachfront luxury.
  • Ubud: Nestled among verdant rice terraces and nestled in the jungle, Ubud is the cultural center of Bali. You can get a smoothie at a peaceful café, take a yoga class, peruse local art markets, or simply unwind in a villa with a view of the valley. Ubud is ideal if you're interested in wellness or want to learn more about Balinese customs because it's calmer and cooler than the coast. Visit locations like the famous Hanging Gardens or Alila Ubud for a calm, picturesque stay.
  • Canggu: Surfers and digital nomads have come to love Canggu, a relaxed beach location. There will be plenty of waves, views of rice fields, relaxed cafés with strong coffee and quick Wi-Fi, and more smoothie bowls than you can count. Despite becoming busier every year, it has a younger, more laid-back attitude than Seminyak. Even though it's not a highly walkable location, getting around is made simple by scooters and ride-hailing applications. There are plenty of options for private villas and boutique hotels.
  • Nusa Dua: Bali's more refined and tranquil side can be seen in Nusa Dua. Some of the most opulent resorts on the island may be found there, situated alongside serene beaches with gated communities and well-kept gardens. For families or honeymooners who want to unwind and take in everything in one location, it's a fantastic option. Places like The St. Regis Bali Resort and Grand Hyatt Bali offer excellent service; imagine spa services, beachside relaxation, and all-day dining without the throngs of Kuta.

Bali's Top Activities

Bali Hotel Guide:Photos of TANAH LOT TEMPLE

  • Tegallalang Rice Terraces: These famous tiered rice fields, located just north of Ubud, are ideal for strolls, taking pictures of the sunrise, or enjoying a fresh coconut while taking in the scenery. It's colder and quieter in the early morning.
  • Uluwatu Temple: This sea temple, which is perched on a cliff above the Indian Ocean, provides breathtaking views of the sunset and a spectacular Kecak fire dance at twilight. Beware of cunning monkeys!
  • Seminyak Beas: Visit places like Potato Head or Ku De Ta to spend the day relaxing, surfing, or enjoying cocktails. Excellent for relaxed comfort and sunset views.

GGuest UserIt was a very lovely resort, huge & had lots of activities. Very friendly/polite workers. They gave welcoming drinks and string bracelets (consist of 3 elements; The red element symbolizes creativity and bravely, the black element symbolizes powerful and protected us from bad spirit and white element symbolizes spirituality and goodness). They gave fruit platter in room. I accidentally missed a step on the front fountain at the entrance steps on my way out walking, twisted my ankle badly on the first day. My husband asked for an ice pack & they gave us a bucket of ice. That was lovely. Need to focus on cleanliness especially on bathroom - showers (slight molds) and bathtubs (painted on - in the first room before they moved us closer to our son. The paint was peeling off as we filled bathtub with water. The bathtub was slippery in the second room, my son fell in & hurt his back & hips. They managed to find me a room so that I could be together with my son (adjoining room) but the air conditioning was not working. I asked them for at least portable AC but they only gave us a pedestal fan. Gym was very tiny, not balance as there are over 500 rooms in the complex. Plus, lack of monitoring, water dispenser is empty. The squash balls aren’t pumped so it doesn’t bounce at all. Porter need to be extra careful when pushing trolley cart, I got struck with it from the back so hard. I injured myself but he didn’t mean it, he was very apologetic. Therefore we decided to checkout one day early, even though we paid for it. I asked for lunch as a swap and paid the difference since we won’t be around for the next day breakfast (due to early checkout) but not possible but instead they did prepare & pack-up breakfast boxes in advance. That was lovely of them.

GGuest UserThe 100 Sunset Hotel in Kuta has impressed us time and again during our stays over seven weeks. We stayed there four times in total and felt warmly welcomed every time. The hotel offers a perfect combination of comfort, friendliness, and top-notch service. The rooms are spacious, clean, and stylishly furnished, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The extremely friendly and attentive staff deserves special mention, always striving to meet our needs and make our stay as pleasant as possible. The location of the hotel is ideal—central yet quiet. You can quickly reach the main attractions in Kuta while enjoying a peaceful retreat. The pool area is another highlight, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The 100 Sunset Hotel is definitely a place we are happy to return to. We highly recommend it and look forward to our next stay!

I really liked the location of the air conditioner, it does not blow on your head and there is no dampness in the room, this is a real salvation in Bali! Breakfasts are normal, for such a price I would even say excellent!

VVictorAh, ”Gradmas” in Bali! It seems you're likely referring to one of the Grandmas Plus Hotels in Bali, specifically Grandmas Plus Hotel Seminyak or Grandmas Plus Hotel Airport. They are popular budget-friendly options in Bali. To give you a good review, I can summarize what people generally say about them, but if you stayed at a specific Grandmas Plus Hotel, let me know which one (e.g., Seminyak, Airport, Legian), and I can tailor the review even more. Here's a general overview of what people often say about Grandmas Plus Hotels in Bali, combining common feedback: Grandmas Plus Hotels, Bali (General Review) Overall Impression: Generally, Grandmas Plus Hotels are well-regarded as excellent value-for-money options, especially for budget travelers, solo travelers, and those looking for a convenient location. They often receive high ratings for their service and cleanliness. What people like most: * Excellent Location: This is a consistent highlight. * Seminyak: Very close to Seminyak Beach (often cited as a 5-minute walk) and within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and bars. This makes it ideal for those wanting to explore the vibrant Seminyak area. * Airport: Convenient for early flights or quick stopovers due to its proximity to the airport. * Friendly and Helpful Staff: Many guests praise the staff for being amicable, attentive, and going out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. They often mention the staff's smiles and willingness to help. * Cleanliness: The rooms and common areas are consistently described as sparkling clean and well-maintained. * Value for Money: Guests frequently mention that the price paid for the amenities and location is a great deal. * Breakfast: Often receives positive remarks for being good, and sometimes even offering a ”different gourmet food selection” daily. * Amenities: While generally basic, they offer essential amenities. Some locations have a pool, and many have a connected restaurant/bar. In-house spas are also mentioned as a plus. * Comfort Rooms (after checkout): Some hotels in the chain offer a ”comfort room” which is a nice touch for guests with later flights. What people like least (or areas for improvement): * Room Size: A very common comment is that the rooms can be ”compact,” ”small,” or ”cramped,” especially for families. While well-designed and clean, they might feel a bit tight for some. * Noise: Depending on the room location, street noise, music, or bar noises can be audible, especially in Seminyak, which is a lively area. * Bathroom Ventilation/Issues: Some reviews mention a lack of exhaust fans in bathrooms, or occasional issues like drainage smells or spots on tiles. * Pool Size/Quality: For the Seminyak location, the pool is sometimes described as ”tiny” or ”very poor” and can get crowded. * Limited Amenities: While good for the price, some guests might miss certain features like mini-fridges or electric kettles in the rooms (though free mineral water is usually provided). Would I recommend this hotel? Based on common reviews, yes, I would recommend Grandmas Plus Hotels, especially if you are: * A budget-conscious traveler. * Looking for a hotel with an excellent, central location (Seminyak) or close to the airport. * Prioritizing friendly service and cleanliness over spacious rooms or extensive luxury amenities. * Traveling solo or as a couple (larger groups or families might find rooms a bit small). They are often described as a great base for exploring Bali, offering a comfortable and practical stay without a hefty price tag.

AAnonymous UserCheck in was smooth. Staffs were friendly. Hotel is huge, they have 3 blocks. I got the far end of the block which was a little bit away from the reception and the restaurants and the open space for smoking. In 2 circumstances, i walked up to the room and the door card could not work. This happened in 2 different nights. I had to walk down and got it reset, but the staffs didnt bother to apologise for this. The first time it happened I was okay, but the second time it happened, I got pissed off, because it was a long walk from the room to the reception. If you order food delivery, it will be a long walk to take your food at the reception. If you got the rooms at the reception level, I'm sure it will be a great experience like the first time I was there in the Junior Suite, but this time it was not as pleasant. Thumbs up though for the housekeeping, as the found out I had many shirts lying on the sofa, they brought a small clothes rack and hung my shirts.

NNat who travelsThe hotel is okay, location is quite good and has shuttle to the restaurant and shops area. In the room the bed was old and making squishy sound whenever you move slightly. The pipes smell not nicely and flush would be quite weak. Did not swim in the pool as it was not as appealing, but the beach access is very nice. There are a lot of random people and boats on the beach, which makes the air polluted and hard to breath.

JJanenysurvivorThe room itself is very nice! All the facilities and amenity are provided, very convenient. Close to the beach able to walk directly! Beachfront is black sand, so niceee. There is the renovation going on, but that thing doesn’t bother me. The thing is when they do the renovation and they need to keep the stuff away from the room, I don’t know how they keep the pillows, all four pillows had a musty smell, and we had to call housekeeping to replace them during the night. This has to be improved.
