Just finished reviewing my June booking, and now I'm here to write about July's. I've been coming to Tokyo almost every month recently, and I always choose this hotel.
I've probably been staying here longer than some of the staff have been working here, haha! 😂
The subway access is excellent and very close, so you don't have to walk far at all. The hygiene is great, and it's been well-maintained; I haven't noticed any significant changes over the years. The shower stall is also very convenient, no need to step into a bathtub. If nothing changes, I'll definitely keep coming back. I feel like it's been open for at least ten years now.

The location of the hotel is excellent just 5 minutes walk from the East side of JR Ikebukuro station.Keep in mind that there is  no elevator or escalator on this side so you have to carry your luggage upstairs (maybe it has but we didn't find it) Convenient store is beside the hotel by getting through the connecting door. There is a self locker room to keep your luggage before check in.
2 water bottles are provided every day. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. We enjoyed staying here. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed the stay as it’s so convenient with all the amenities surrounded the area!
Just outside Oimachi Station (exit A2) within 3mins walk and right above supermarket, Familymart and many eateries around!
Spa available within the hotel too! 
Will come back again!

The location is very good as it’s closed to the JR station. Also some restaurants are nearby. Easy to go airport by train as well. 

My room is a corner twin bed room so it’s not too small. The room is clean. But just the curtains cannot block all the sunlights during day time. Overall is a good place to stay.

The location is super convenient, which is a big plus.

The front desk staff were a bit cold and not very polite. I was quite surprised that when I asked where the elevator was, they didn't even look up and just gestured. That's a three-star experience for me.

There's a hotel convenience store which is really handy for snacks and other things. Five stars for that!

The interior facilities aren't new; they're just what you'd expect for the price, no pleasant surprises there.

It's not dirty, but I wouldn't say it felt particularly clean either. Three and a half stars for cleanliness.

The hotel is right next to a shopping mall, and close to everything. The room was a bit small, but it had everything I needed. The only downside was having to pay for disposable slippers, as the ones in the room were leather. The complimentary foot patches and face masks were a nice touch. The front desk staff provided service in both Japanese and English and were very friendly.

I enjoyed everything from the moment I walked in the hotel lobby. Customer service was amazing as they were all kind and paid individual attention to each guest. My room was quite comfortable for me. Yes, Tokyo rooms are small but I was very comfortable and I even dejected the room with the massage chair~ which I used almost every day 😎 Location was the best! I will DEFINITELY be returning to this hotel upon my next Tokyo stay. Thanks for the memories 🦋

This was our second stay at Dai Ichi. We can’t fault the service or location. The rooms are a little older and probably that’s why they are on the more spacious side of hotels in Tokyo. 

The cleaning wasn’t always perfect. When we went to the room the previous occupant’s small towel was hanging on the top of the shower. There were some crumbs under the desk and chair and some days certain things were not included like the bin liners. Not a big deal but maybe rushed cleaning.

I chose to stay at this hotel for a weekend. First, the location is great – very convenient for getting to Ginza, and there are plenty of dining options nearby, plus it's right next to a theater.

The room was a bit cramped. It would be fine for one person, but for two, it would be quite awkward. There was a massage chair in the room, but I didn't get around to using it during my two-day stay. The bathroom has a shower, which was acceptable.

The breakfast offered a good variety of dishes, but the portions for each item were very small, which made me a bit hesitant to serve myself. I can understand that they might be trying to avoid waste. On the bright side, the bread was replenished very promptly, and there was a coffee machine where you could make different types of coffee.

Near the front desk, there were complimentary tea bags and lotions available. Overall, the service attitude was excellent – very friendly and polite. Next time, I'll opt for a larger room.

This is a stylish hotel in a good location.  The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from JR Tokyo station, however as I had a lot of luggage with me I took a taxi from Tokyo station, which cost about 1000 Yen. The entrance to the hotel is a little hard to see - there is an entrance at street level with an automatic sliding door. The door opens to reveal the entrance to a restaurant, you then have to turn left to find the lifts which only go to the 14th floor, where the reception is. After checking-in there are a different set of lifts that go to the floors where the guest rooms are. The reception area, as with the rest of the hotel is stylish - there was a lady dressed in Kimono to help guests at the lifts!
I had booked a single room , but I was upgraded to a double room free of charge. This room was a good size by Tokyo standards, with a separate toilet and a separate shower room with a bath. The washbasin was in the entrance hall, not in the bathroom.
There was no desk or office chair in the room, but there was a table and corner sofa. There were power and USB sockets by the bed.
As I wanted to use a laptop, I had to move the table close to the bed, so that I could plug the laptop into the power socket sit on the sofa. This wasn't the most comfortable arrangement!
I would also have preferred to have the wash basin in the bathroom rather than in the entrance hall. The floor tended to get wet where I walked from the entrance door to the bed area.
Even though this is a stylish hotel in a good location, with good staff and facilities I wouldn't stay here again. I need a work desk and chair to use a laptop which this room does not have. It is a boutique hotel rather than a business hotel, more suited to guests that don't need to work from the room.

We booked a quad room for our family of four, and everyone got a great night's sleep. Shopping at department stores and drugstores was incredibly convenient, and there were plenty of dining options nearby. The picture shows our first meal, which we randomly picked on the 8th floor right below the hotel – it was delicious! The public transport nearby can take you to any attraction you want to visit. Both check-in and check-out were self-service and easy to use.

Things to note:
1. Remember to ask the front desk for skincare products.
2. There's a microwave in the corner of the lobby for heating food.
3. For extra trash to be collected, you need to stick a yellow sticker (found behind the door) on the garbage bag.
4. There's no water in the room, but you can get drinking water in the lobby, or buy it daily from FamilyMart downstairs.

Oh, and the direct airport bus service is really a big plus! I'm not a travel expert, but following a guide made everything straightforward. I saw mixed reviews for this hotel, but I still wanted to share my genuine experience for others' reference. It's a hotel that can really save you travel time, and I'd definitely choose it again next time I'm in Osaka.

The hotel staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and the environment was clean and comfortable. The facilities were comprehensive and well-maintained. Our room was spacious and bright, with excellent soundproofing and soft bedding. The breakfast offered a great variety, and the location was very convenient. It's excellent value for money, and overall, I had a very satisfactory experience. I highly recommend it.

Location: Probably the only hotel located right inside Shin-Osaka Station. You don't even need to exit the station; just head to the north exit and you're there.
Facilities: The rooms are cramped. If you have large luggage, this isn't the place for you. Don't book a queen room for two people – you'll be constantly bumping into things just trying to move around.
Service: Mostly self-service, but there was a friendly guy at the front desk who spoke Chinese, and the service was good.

The location is very convenient. The newest airport limousine bus in '26 goes to Osaka Umeda Station, and it's a 3-minute walk from there. It's also only a 7-8 minute walk to Hankyu Department Store. The room isn't big, so it's better for one person. There are convenience stores nearby too. The guy at the front desk speaks a little Chinese.

Excellent stay! The staff were incredibly polite and attentive. While breakfast had fixed timings, it was still good. For Osaka, the room was quite spacious, and all three of us were very happy with it. The toiletries were Guerlain, and any issues we had were resolved promptly. The hotel is super close to Hankyu Sanbangai and the Umeda shopping district, and there are tons of restaurants nearby, even on the first basement floor. Transportation is also very convenient; the airport shuttle bus stop is just a block away.

I recently stayed at Hotel Hanshin Osaka during my trip to Osaka, and overall it was a very satisfying experience, especially for a first-time solo traveler visiting the city.
One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is definitely its excellent location. The hotel is conveniently connected to transportation, making it extremely easy to travel to many of Osaka’s famous attractions and shopping areas. Whether I wanted to visit Dotonbori, Umeda, Osaka Castle, or even take day trips to nearby cities, getting around was smooth and stress-free. For someone traveling alone and unfamiliar with Osaka, staying here made the entire trip feel much more comfortable and convenient.
Another thing that impressed me was the service provided by the hotel staff. The front desk employees were always polite, professional, and welcoming. They greeted guests with genuine smiles and were very helpful whenever I had questions. Even though there was sometimes a language barrier, they still tried their best to assist me, which made me feel appreciated as a guest. Good hospitality can really affect the overall travel experience, and this hotel certainly delivered in that aspect.
The room itself was clean and well-maintained. Although the room size was slightly small, which is quite common in Japan, the facilities inside were surprisingly complete and thoughtfully arranged. Everything I needed was provided, and the layout was efficient enough that I still felt comfortable during my stay. The in-room hot spring bath was also a very enjoyable feature. After spending long hours walking around Osaka every day, being able to relax in the warm bath at night was incredibly refreshing and helped me recover from fatigue.
If I had to mention one downside, it would only be the limited room space. However, considering the location, service quality, cleanliness, and facilities, I still think this hotel offers great value overall.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Osaka for the first time, especially solo travelers who want a convenient, comfortable, and reliable place to stay.

The location is fantastic; you can see the hotel right from Fukushima Station. There's a food street downstairs and a Hankyu supermarket (definitely worth a visit if you have time! Lots of great, affordable stuff).

When we checked in, staff helped us use the self-service machine, and our luggage, which we'd sent ahead via Yamato Transport, was brought out to us at the same time.

The front desk area also provides complimentary toiletries like toothbrushes and combs, as well as tea bags, for guests to pick up themselves.

The room is small but has everything you need, though you can really only open one suitcase. 😂

Later, we needed to send our luggage to the airport. Luckily, we found a Chinese-speaking staff member, but we still had to fill out all the forms ourselves. I'm not sure why all the guides I read said the front desk would help with this. Since we can't write Japanese, it took us almost half an hour to fill out the three forms.

There's also a really delicious yakitori place near the hotel! I highly recommend checking it out.

Kobe is an excellent destination for a comfortable family trip with kids. It offers mountains, the sea, cable cars, parks, an aquarium, a Ferris wheel, night views, and shopping. We chose this hotel purely for its convenient location, especially with children. It's right above Sannomiya Station, Kobe's largest transportation hub (buses, private railways, JR trains all in one place), making getting around incredibly easy. The room wasn't huge but perfectly adequate. It's a shame we weren't assigned a high-floor room this time; we would have loved to enjoy the city's night view from up there. I hope Trip.com can pay more attention to requests from Black Diamond members. We look forward to visiting Kobe again, and if we're not staying overnight at Arima Onsen, this hotel will definitely remain our top choice for 2-3 nights.

This stay was in a Japanese-style room. The layout was conventional, not very spacious, and a bit dated, but the cleanliness was good. The hotel's two elevators are quite small, leading to long waits during peak hours, which is inefficient. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and noteworthy.

The bathhouse is divided into public and guest-only sections: the public bath on the 2nd-3rd floors doesn't provide towels but has lockers; the guest-only bath on the GF floor offers hand towels but no lockers, so it's advisable not to bring valuables. Overall, the experience was decent.

The hotel's hillside location makes walking a bit inconvenient, but they offer a shuttle service to the station! You can call the front desk to book it!
