"I stayed at the Leonardo Royal Hotel Edinburgh Haymarket and booked a standard king room with a sofa bed. The room was 27m², which isn't small for a UK hotel. It was well-equipped with a full-length mirror, safe, hairdryer, bathtub, and air conditioning. The room was cleaned daily, which was great. My only minor complaint was that the shower pressure wasn't very strong. I booked the hotel through Trip.com, and because it was a third-party booking, the hotel didn't require any deposit. The room included a daily breakfast for three people, and the breakfast spread was quite generous. Breakfast hours were from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM, which was perfect for sleeping in. Since Edinburgh isn't a huge city, most major attractions were within walking distance. An Uber to the castle cost around £9. There are Tesco and Sainsbury's supermarkets nearby, as well as many Chinese restaurants. The location is excellent and I highly recommend it."

"The hostel is in a great location, very close to the city centre and within easy walking distance. The cleanliness was okay overall, I stayed for four nights, and during most of my stay the room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. The beds were made and the rubbish was removed, but the rest of the room didn’t seem to be cleaned. However, the day before I left, I wrote a short note for the cleaner and left it near the bin explaining my concerns. When I returned, the room was absolutely impeccable. I really appreciated how quickly and seriously they responded to my feedback. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the common area is comfortable. The main downside for me was the noise from the street. There was quite a lot of noise at night, sometimes continuing until late, so this is something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper. Overall, despite these small issues, I had a good stay and would recommend the hostel, especially to women travelling solo. I felt safe and comfortable during my stay, and I particularly appreciated how responsive the staff were when I raised a concern."

"The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around. The rooms are well-equipped, and the cleanliness is spot on. Although the hotel breakfast selection isn't extensive, it's sufficient for everyone's needs."

"The hotel is a bit far from the main attractions, but there's a bus right outside that goes directly there. An Uber to the train station costs about 6 pounds. They offer three meals a day, and breakfast is especially good with some Scottish specialties you can order. The service in the restaurant was also great."

"We booked this hotel not knowing that it is literally next to the zoo. So it was a pleasant surprise and we decided to include the Edinburgh Zoo as part of our itinerary when we were there. There’re bus stops infront of the hotel that conveniently transport us to the city centre in 15min; as well as to the airport. The bus systems there are superb and most of the times the buses arrived on schedule. There are no bottled mineral water, toothbrushes, toothpaste, comb or other sanitary products (except for shower gel, shampoo and handwash) provided in the room. However, there is a note pasted in the toilet that one has to ask for these items at the reception counter if one requires any of these. We didnt notice the pasted note in the toilet; thus we did not ask for these during our stay.. We were also surprised that there was no mini fridge or safe which are normally provided in a hotel room. Nonetheless we were happy when there’s an iron and ironing board in our room. We noticed that the housekeeping service usually starts around 9am. We were in the room at around 9.30am when someone from the housekeeping dept tried to open the door. So if you intend to wake up late, we suggest to keep your door locked and latched. Their housekeeping is efficient as we think they need to be on schedule but many times our used cups were not cleaned thoroughly (or replaced) as there were still stains in the cups. 1 day 1 of our half-drink bottled drinks was removed from the table which we presumed the housekeeper could have thrown it away. On the whole, it’s a pleasant stay for our family."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 We had a wonderful stay at Ten Hill Place Hotel and would happily stay here again on our next visit to Edinburgh. The location is excellent—situated in a quiet area while still being within easy walking distance of the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, the University of Edinburgh, and many great restaurants and cafés. It was the perfect base for exploring the city. The room was modern, spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The bed was especially comfortable, and we had a great night’s sleep. Everything was well maintained, and the room had all the amenities we needed. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional throughout our stay. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient, and everyone was happy to help with any questions we had. Overall, Ten Hill Place Hotel offers excellent value for money, combining a fantastic location, comfortable rooms, and outstanding service. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again."

"Stayed in one of their twin rooms with an en-suite. The toilet is separated by a wall and a door held by a magnet, which I hadn’t seen before. Beds were comfy. Bedding was comfortable. Tv worked and had YouTube. Shower worked and was good pressure and temperature. Would have been nicer to have an extra pillow available per bed (there is one per bed) and to have had easier access to water/tea/coffee facilities without having to go down to reception dispensing machines. Food is pizza or paninis so we went across to the shopping centre for food and room drinks/snacks. Room was quiet until 6:15 when other people started to surface. I could hear their doors shutting, showers running and toilets flushing."

"Good hotel. We stayed with friends for one night in a family room. Breakfast was included and started at 5:30 AM, which was convenient for us as we had an early morning departure. I recommend this hotel."

"The hotel is very close to the University of Edinburgh, just a 3-minute walk away. It's a 10-minute walk to Waverley Station if you don't have luggage and can use the main stairs, but if you have heavy bags, it's about a 20-minute walk over the bridge. Rooms are not available until after 3 PM. The room size is small, the bathroom is tiny, and the room cleanliness is average, with dirty floors. The front desk staff were friendly and check-in was quick. Breakfast is served on the third floor, a standard English breakfast with decent quality dishes."

"An excellent stay, especially thanks to Mr. Sajal at the front desk who was incredibly kind and helpful, making our visit much more comfortable and welcoming. The room was very cozy, and the location is super convenient. The breakfast was delicious. After breakfast, it's just a short stroll to St. Mary's Cathedral. The hotel's surroundings are very quiet and pleasant, away from the hustle and bustle, yet still close to Princes Street and the Castle."
