"The hotel is in a quiet and ideal location! Only 15 mins to the main city centre by bus, with bus stop being opposite the hotel. The staff were super friendly and accommodating, and made the stay comfortable. Unfortunately the hotel was under doing a renovation during the visit which meant some rooms and the hallway walls weren’t clean but I’m sure once the renovation gets done a it will a a clean hotel. Safe area away from the busy city centre. Recommend for solo and couple stays."

"This place was great for my fiancé and I during our Edinburgh trip. We got in a lot of steps throughout the trip as it is a tiny bit further out, but was still super achievable to walk everywhere. Grab your towel and body wash etc from reception when you check in. We also asked reception later on for a hair dryer. We could hear into the corridor quite easily, doors opening and closing etc, so don’t think the walls are that sound proof. Super simple room, but a good option if you’re just looking for somewhere to drop bags and sleep in during your trip."

"Great stay at this hostel! The front desk staff are super friendly, and the rooms and bathrooms are very clean. Minor cons: the 3rd - floor sink is too small with a push faucet, but i notice 1st floor sinks are great. And breakfast have limited items. Still, it’s clean and easy to find, and I’d happily recommend it!"

W Edinburgh Hotels in Edinburgh

"the hotel is centrally located and walkable to all major site, it is attached to the only shopping mall in downtown so it is really convenient. the architectural design of the hotel is unique and stands out amongst historical buildings around, and very photogenic. However I have stayed in many W hotels around the world and I found this one interior qualities not up to par with the others, the decor and material of my room is cheap and not special, the toilet is so small and cramp, the vanity and sink is around 60cm and single sink, very tight to even get dry and undress. the room is dark with very small window, i think i stay in the back wing. Though the beds as usual are very comfortable. the hotel doesnt have much amenities there is no pool, entry lobby is very small [relatively], only one restaurant double as breakfast cafe and at night a japanese chain restaurant. two things also stands out. i do not recalled the last time i go in the hotel and there is a long line for check in which happens this time, there were at least 3 ppl in front and after me. and it takes a bit of time although the staff were very kind. also lines both nights when going to the bar, huge line on saturday, at least 12 ppl jammed in the lift lobby. I also noticed that there are not any native english speaking staff, not at the check in, nor maitre d at the bar nor the room service phone reception. we had a good stay but def a few things that stood out."

"I visited Edinburgh over Easter, which was also my birthday, and had a wonderful stay. Magda was incredibly kind and arranged an early check-in before noon after I confirmed the day before. She also surprised me with balloons and chocolates in my room for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. The staff provided clear information and gave excellent recommendations on places to visit, making my first trip to Edinburgh even more enjoyable. The hotel’s central location was perfect, close to all the main attractions, and the pool was a great bonus. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily visit again."

"Hotel was university dorm rooms. Small but comfortable and had toilet and shower. There is a shared kitchen (shared between ~6 rooms). Walls were thin which is a problem if neighbours are noisy. Location is decent, plenty of restaurants and pubs within walking distance. Overall it's an ok place to stay, not cheap but not bad value compared to other places in the city. Note that hotel charges £5 per bag if you want to leave things behind the counter until check in time."

"it was a great experience. The ambiance was very nice 24 seven there was a receptionist and also the cleanliness was good and food is also good. I would highly recommend someone who is visiting Edinburgh to stay there because it’s closer to the town. It’s very affordable and and one of the best places to be around very close to the Dean village as well."

"The hotel is considerably in front of the Haymarket Station but can be walkable to Princes Street and to all other tourist spots. Our room was small for the two of us but we cant complain as it was clean. It has TV, aircon/heater, towels, and you can ask for disposable toothbrush in the reception. We enjoyed their free coffee and tea during our stay. The staff were also nice."

"Great facilities and an affordable stay in a private student hall during the summer. However the left luggage service is not free like in hotels. This place feels like a hotel more than a hostel as I rarely met my other flatmates during my stay."
