"The hostel is in a great location, very close to the city centre and within easy walking distance. The cleanliness was okay overall, I stayed for four nights, and during most of my stay the room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. The beds were made and the rubbish was removed, but the rest of the room didn’t seem to be cleaned. However, the day before I left, I wrote a short note for the cleaner and left it near the bin explaining my concerns. When I returned, the room was absolutely impeccable. I really appreciated how quickly and seriously they responded to my feedback. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the common area is comfortable. The main downside for me was the noise from the street. There was quite a lot of noise at night, sometimes continuing until late, so this is something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper. Overall, despite these small issues, I had a good stay and would recommend the hostel, especially to women travelling solo. I felt safe and comfortable during my stay, and I particularly appreciated how responsive the staff were when I raised a concern."

"The room with a view was absolutely fantastic! You could see Calton Hill and the sea in the distance right from the room. The free croissants at the front desk were delicious. Calton Hill is just a five-minute walk away, and the views from there are breathtaking. The hotel is also only a few minutes from Edinburgh Waverley train station, and having direct lift access was so convenient and pleasant. Edinburgh is a wonderful place and definitely worth revisiting. This hotel is also worth another stay!"

The hotel itself was pretty standard, with a typical American feel. Getting into the city was easy using the airport bus. However, the shuttle bus *to* the airport costs 2.5 pounds per person and makes several stops, so a short distance takes over 10 minutes."

"I don't know why hotels in Edinburgh are so incredibly expensive! But then again, high prices are pretty much the norm in Edinburgh. Overall, this hotel was quite comfortable and its location was excellent. It's within walking distance of the station and all the main attractions. There's a small, quiet church next door, which made for peaceful evenings. The front desk staff were super helpful; they first checked if we could check in early, and when that wasn't possible, they offered complimentary luggage storage so we could go explore before coming back. That was a really nice touch. The breakfast was also quite substantial."

"This is my first hotel review. I stayed for 3 days, and the room was old. The daily cleaning was very perfunctory; they only changed towels and emptied the trash. The bedsheets and pillowcases were not changed, and the bed wasn't even made. Every day I returned to a messy room. Breakfast was crowded, and I had to wait 10-15 minutes to get in. The food was below average, so you wouldn't miss anything by skipping it. I will definitely not stay here again."
