Hotels near Ghetto Nuovo, Venice

The room was spacious and the heating worked very well. The key was unique, but the facilities were a bit old. The shower curtain didn't really keep the water in, so the bathroom floor got very wet. The courtyard next to the room was quite nice. Room 509 is actually on the ground floor. I also got bitten by mosquitoes at night, but luckily I managed to kill them quickly. The front desk had a peculiar process: when I checked in, they asked for my credit card to register the number. The next day when I checked out, I inquired about it and was told it was to prevent guests from forgetting to pay city taxes or other fees after leaving. They also assured me that the card information would be deleted later and not to worry.

The hotel's location is super convenient, just a five-minute walk to the left after exiting Venezia S. Lucia train station on Venice's main island. The hotel is clean and the breakfast is plentiful, with a great view of the canal from the restaurant. The only minor issue is that you have to walk down half a flight of stairs after getting out of the elevator, but everything else was perfect.

Beyond the great location, honestly, everything else was pretty disappointing. The hotel offers a taxi service to the airport for 70 Euros... The room was genuinely tiny, too small, and incredibly hot. The heat made me dizzy. My friend came to visit and also commented on how ridiculously hot it was. The staff kept knocking on my door. I asked them not to knock for a bit and to come back later, but they still knocked 3 to 5 more times. The only real highlight was the friendly and handsome young man at the front desk when I checked in on the first day. He was so gentle and helped me open wine and find cutlery. I didn't take photos of the room because it was so small. But on my way out, I discovered a spacious back garden and took some pictures of that. Pictures 3 and 4 show the room service breakfast and the on-site buffet breakfast. At this hotel, whatever you do, do NOT choose room service for breakfast. It's just a few pieces of bread, and it's outrageously overpriced! I felt like a total sucker! Just walk downstairs and eat the buffet – it's actually decent.

We arrived at the hotel on January 12th at 10:30 PM. The room was absolutely amazing and split over two levels. On the ground floor there was a bathroom and a separate shower. Everything was very beautiful, clean, and in perfect working condition. The shower did not leak at all, and there were no unpleasant smells. On the upper floor there was a bedroom with a large bed and an additional sofa. The room was equipped with a large Smart TV, a spacious wardrobe, a safe, and a hairdryer. We were also provided with two 0.5 L bottles of water. There was both a heater and air conditioning, and everything worked perfectly, so it was not cold at all. The location is excellent. It may look a bit confusing on the map at first, but we figured it out quickly. When you see the shop “Ca’ Macana Atelier”, turn immediately to the right. You will see an old public telephone, and between the buildings there is the hotel entrance (the hotel name is written on the door). All access codes worked without any problems. The interior of the hotel is very beautiful. The owner is a very kind and welcoming lady truly wonderful. She speaks English and cleans the rooms daily. If you prefer not to have your room cleaned, you can simply inform her or hang the sign on the door. The tourist tax is €3 per person per day. We absolutely loved everything. Out of all the places we have stayed in (priced between €20 and €60 per night), this hotel and room are without a doubt our number one favorite. Thank you so much. If we ever return to Venice, we will definitely stay here again. ❤️

We booked a suite and it was great. The balcony had a direct view of the canal, there were comfortable places to sit, and the building felt authentic with older furniture. The only thing to keep in mind is that it’s located on a wide canal where boats pass at night, so it can be quite noisy if the window is open

Super hotel, well-located at the city's entrance, near the train station. The staff are incredibly competent and very pleasant. The rooms are superb and come with everything you need. Luggage storage is available, which makes the stay even more enjoyable.

I rarely book 3-star hotels, so I was quite taken aback when, upon arriving at 11 AM, I was asked to pay a fee to store my luggage. It felt like they were pushing me to pay more for an early check-in instead. Then, on top of the room rate, I had to pay an additional 22 Euros for city tax. We were given a room on the 3rd floor, which we accessed with a code. It faced almost directly onto the entrance/exit of an underground parking garage of the building opposite, and the noise was incredibly loud. I confirmed that there was no room orientation option when booking, and when I asked the front desk, I was told all other rooms were booked! The next morning, the breakfast restaurant was bustling – everyone really seemed to enjoy it. I guess it must be because of the convenient transportation? You can take the 'fishbone bridge' train and the water bus from there.

The hotel's location is excellent, just a 2-minute walk from Santa Lucia train station, making it very convenient for trips to Rome and Florence. There are also many boat terminals nearby for scenic boat tours, so transportation is a breeze. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, and they even provided a free map of Venice. The morning service staff were attentive and thorough. Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options. The room was clean and well-equipped with plenty of power outlets (though adapters are needed). The central air conditioning provides both heating and cooling. The bathroom was spacious with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. Besides shampoo and shower gel, they also provided body lotion, which was a very thoughtful touch. The heated towel rack was a fantastic detail, ensuring warm towels every time – they really think of the guests! The entire room was very spacious, and the facilities were brand new. The family suite has a unique design and can accommodate four people, offering good privacy.

I highly recommend this hotel! It's incredibly close to the train station – literally a 5-minute walk. You don't have to cross any bridges or lug your bags around (apart from the station steps themselves). We booked a river view room and the scenery was lovely; I took photos of the view from the window, and it had a different charm both at night and in the morning. You can even soak up the sun while lying in bed! The room was very functional and had everything we needed. The breakfast area also had a great view, and the breakfast itself was decent for Italy, though our Hunan palates aren't quite used to it. The lady at the front desk was so incredibly nice! This trip was a bit rushed, and we only stayed one day, but if I ever come back to Venice, I'll definitely choose this hotel again.
