The room was spacious, and the balcony was also very large with a nice view. The open-air onsen was amazing! The service was excellent. They even had massage devices for body and face. The matcha tea bags were delicious too. I felt a lot of thought went into everything.

Celebrated 520 (May 20th) by booking a more upscale meal that day, and the experience was great ❤️. The location is fantastic! It's a 5-minute walk to Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell), so we went straight there after breakfast when it was less crowded. Regarding service, I have to say: it was the rainy season, and there were many staff members standing at the entrance, but they only bowed. It felt awkward watching adults and children run into the hotel in the rain to check in, and checking out involved carrying our own luggage in the rain too.

Very comfortable! I could relax here as if I were at home, with access to manga and free drinks. The hotel was quiet and clean, and it's in a super convenient location with a convenience store and supermarket nearby. There are no pajamas provided, but all the other amenities were more than sufficient. The price was also very reasonable. I'd definitely want to stay here again next time I'm in Beppu.

The hotel's location is a bit out of the way. The ocean view from the room was okay, I guess. You're required to take off your shoes when entering the hotel, but they don't even provide disposable slippers, so the service is pretty mediocre. The front desk staff also had a very unenthusiastic attitude during check-in. The hotel tries to project an image of being very clean and upscale, but honestly, the cleanliness of the guest rooms was just average; the toilet wasn't even wiped clean and had stains.

It's a 15-minute walk from Beppu Central Station. The area is very pleasant and quiet, with many cozy establishments with unique ambiances. The hotel has a pleasant common area on the ground floor, with a reception area and kitchen. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Thanks for the recommendations for dining options. After 10:00 PM, entry is with a PIN code on the keys. The room is huge, with three beds, a large restroom, and a shower. Everything is rather basic, but comfortable and clean. The elevator closes its doors very quickly, so be sure to get in before you leave. Overall, it's a good budget option for an overnight stay if you're not looking for anything fancy.

Very satisfied with our stay. Room is abit small as the room was constructed out of a container but they still managed to pack everything nicely into the room. Location may not be ideal for travellers relying on public transport but no issue if you’re driving as there are parking lots available for hotel guests in front of the hotel. Love the amenities provided (full range of Pola products and Refa hair dryer!) They even provide a Balmuda kettle. As hotel is located within a park, there is no security fencing. There is a main gate where hotel guests need to scan their card to enter hotel premise but public can easily walk over the slightly raised flower bed to enter the hotel premise even without the need to enter via the main gate. Such setup is only possible in Japan where security is not a major issue and known for being a safe country but we’ll be concerned if this is in another country. There is also no shelter from hotel rooms to the parking area so managing luggage during rainy days will be challenging. But overall we love our stay at this hotel.

This was my second time at Hoshino, and I went with friends. Everything was excellent, from the service and facilities to the environment, cleanliness, and food. The entire building faces Beppu Bay, with a minimalist design that still feels warm. The abundant use of white space, wood, and natural light makes it feel like living in a breathing art museum. The public spaces are very quiet, even when the hotel is full, maintaining the consistent understated elegance of the ”Kai” series.

This hotel was absolutely perfect as a base for sightseeing, with excellent access just a 3-minute walk from Beppu Station. The interior is modern Japanese style and very chic. The moment you step into the lobby, you're greeted with a sense of spaciousness that immediately lifts your spirits. The absolute highlight is the infinity onsen pool (with a tent sauna) and the large public bath on the rooftop. The panoramic views of Beppu city, the sea, and the mountains are simply breathtaking, especially from dusk as the lights come on and the city transforms into a stunning nightscape. It's a luxurious onsen experience, reimagined in a contemporary and stylish setting. The guest rooms also have a calming, wood-grain design and feel very clean, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Another nice touch was being able to choose our favorite yukata pattern from several options, which really added to the atmosphere and made us feel excited to stroll around the onsen town.

The staff is friendly and speaks English well; the place is quiet and cozy, and the location is perfect. It’s almost a distance to Beppu tourist attractions, especially the Beppu tower and Beppu JR stations. The hostel is also located near the port area, where you can relax and take a break. The hostel also has a cafe, a spacious kitchen, and an artificial hot spring. Although some amenities are not included, you have to purchase them at the front desk, the accommodation cost is relatively cheap, so that’s okay. It's a good thing I have my own towels and other amenities. I will definitely be back here when I return.

The hotel location is excellent, right next to Beppu Station – just cross the road from the exit. It has its own hot spring, which is a bit small, but guests can use the hot springs at two other nearby hotels for free. Breakfast is also served at one of those other hotels. The room rate is very affordable for Beppu, offering great value for money.
