"The view of this hotel is magnificent. You basically can see most of the Tokyo tower and near landmarks. Especially, when the day is clear even mt Fuji is visible from the hotel lobby. Highly recommend staying at the hotel because of the scenery."

"The room was quite spacious, and we found our 4-night stay very comfortable. The bed was also comfortable, not one of those overly soft types. The location was excellent, with FamilyMart and 7-Eleven stores conveniently located nearby. In fact, there's a 7-Eleven right on the ground floor of the hotel – it couldn't be more convenient! The hotel is very close to the subway station. You can easily walk to Shinjuku to catch a train, or take one from Tochomae Station. The hotel had quite a few international guests, and we were pleased to find a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk. The daily housekeeping was excellent, ensuring a very clean, pleasant, and comfortable stay."

"The accommodations were very good. The problem was that when I checked in, the reservation was made using a phone number that was completely different from my own and that I had never heard of, so they suspected that the reservation had been made from a reseller and were reluctant to let me in. I was warned to make hotel reservations through the official website next time."

"I walk quite a bit from the station. There are convenience stores around, but you have to go around the station to find restaurants. You can walk to Ueno Park and the zoo, but the slope is steep. The hotel rooms and facilities are good, so I often use the Apa Hotel, but the breakfast here was not good."

"The location is very convenient. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus service to and from Disneyland, with the pick-up/drop-off point on the 1st floor. From Bayside Station (on the Disney Resort Line), there's a free shuttle to the hotel from Exit 1. It's handy if you have luggage, but it's also a quick and easy walk without. There's also a paid airport shuttle service available; you just need to register and pay via QR code in advance. The views are fantastic, especially from rooms with a balcony and ocean view. For breakfast, there are several restaurants to choose from. I opted for the one on the 1st floor, nearest to the elevators. Even going down at 9:30 AM, there was still a queue, but the food selection was extensive. Rooms come with complimentary drip coffee, tea bags, and two bottles of water, plus a kettle. There are also two convenience stores on the 2nd floor. Facilities: They are a bit dated, but everything functions perfectly. The air conditioning control panel is located above the bedside table. Overall, it's a good choice, and I would definitely recommend it to friends."

"Wonderul hotel set in a modern part of a quiet Tokyo. The hotel is only a few stops away from Shinjuku and Shibuya, so you avoid the overcrowdedness. The hotel is very clean and the rooms and topped up with amenities everyday. The staff members are lovely and very friendly, I had absolutely zero complaints about anything in that complex. I am so glad I picked Mitsui to stay. I had option and the budget to pick the more well known MNC brands, but something pulled me to support a home grown brand, because I have been to a many established chain in overseas who had places that were very disappointing and substandard. Hence my choice to support a local brand, and I am glad I supported a local brand i.e. supports the economy of the country and the people. Thank you Mitsui for a wonderful stay. If I come again, I'll be sure to stay with you again."

"The hotel is very grand, featuring a spacious, elegantly decorated lobby with a distinctive centerpiece of purple-pink cockscomb flowers. Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted by staff who took our luggage, escorted us to the front desk for check-in, and then delivered our bags to our room. The front desk staff were highly efficient, making both check-in and check-out incredibly fast. We had booked a room in the tower and were pleasantly surprised to be assigned a high-floor room with views of the Imperial Palace. Even though there's an elevated light rail line directly below with trains continuously passing, we only perceived minimal noise. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The buffet breakfast is served on the 17th floor, the top floor of the main building. While the selection wasn't extensive, it more than made up for it with delicious food, excellent service, and superb views. The hotel boasts an excellent location, within walking distance of Hibiya Park, the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Station, and Ginza. It's also about a 10-minute walk from the nearest subway station, which was perfect for a post-dinner stroll to digest. We had a truly delightful stay."

Final Tokyo Hotels Booking Tips

  • Book Tokyo Hotels Like a Local, secure your room 4–8 months ahead for Tokyo’s busiest travel windows: cherry blossom season (late March to early April) and autumn foliage peaks (mid-November) sell out first, with Golden Week (April 29–May 5) demanding even earlier planning.
  • Navigate Tokyo’s Quirks Smartly, note that trains stop running by 00:30 AM; if exploring nightlife hubs like Roppongi, budget ¥8,000+ for a taxi back to transit-savvy bases like Shinagawa.
  • Prioritize Transit-Friendly, Value-Focused Neighborhoods Forget pricey Ginza or chaotic Shibuya. Station your stay near Tokyo Station (Marunouchi/Yaesu exits) for Shinkansen access, or choose Shinagawa—it’s a 5-minute Shinkansen hop from the JR Yamanote Line.

Amazing
GGuest UserI am a book lover myself, and came to stay here for 2 nights in March a week before Easter, mainly for the library theme and book selection. The hotel itself, the book lounge, and the book libraries on each floor was all very very good. However, upon my checking in, it was obvious that the male receptionist on the left pay more attention to Caucasian guests rather than me (an Asian solo female traveller). I had the impression they just wanted to get rid of me asap, and then served the Caucasian guests behind me. During the whole of my check in process, no one mentioned anything about the special libraries on each floor, no one told me about the free beverages offered “at the far end corner for the reception desk”, and definitely no one mentioned anything about he QRcode library tour!!! I stayed for two nights and it was only after the first night (when I read the books inside my room that I knew of ANY of the services I mentioned above). Of course one may say I could read all those on the signage’s provided in the property. But then… Upon walking into the reception desk the next day, I did hear the same male receptionist explained in great detail (everything I mentioned above)in English to other Caucasian guests. I like the library premise of the property, the books selections were great, exhibition on the first floor was quite nice, however, I am not sure if I would stay for a second time, knowing how they treated solo female Asian guest whom they assumed was not civilised enough (that was my impression) to deserve a thorough introduction about this lovely bookish hotel from them. Quite disappointed to be frank, especially knowing how much history this hotel has included!!

GGuest UserThe room was spacious, and the public areas were also very well-maintained. However, complimentary drinking water was not provided in the room; we had to go to the floor's water dispenser, which was a bit inconvenient. We didn't book breakfast as there were so many dining options available nearby. The hotel is very close to Shinjuku Station, easily accessible via the second-floor pedestrian deck, directly opposite Takashimaya – extremely convenient. The airport limousine bus stop is conveniently located right downstairs and is the first pick-up point. However, it then spends about 30 minutes going around to pick up other passengers, which feels like a wasted detour. Opting for the JR train or going to a different bus terminal yourself is also very straightforward and gets you to the airport in roughly 1.5 hours. Overall, the value for money wasn't particularly high, so I might explore other hotels in the vicinity on my next visit.

JjudaeaThe hotel's location is superb, a quiet haven amidst the city's buzz, with Shinjuku's main commercial area within walking distance. Airport bus stops and subway stations are also just a few minutes' walk away. As expected, the hotel's cleanliness was up to Japanese standards. The service was attentive; upon check-in, the air conditioning had already been turned on, creating a comfortable environment. Toiletries provided were from P*OLA, and other personal care items were available for self-collection. Highly recommended; it will be my top choice for my next stay.

GGuest UserThe location is excellent, with convenient transport links nearby. It's close to metro and bus stops, making it easy to reach various business districts. There are also plenty of restaurants and convenience stores in the vicinity, so everything you need is within easy reach. Upon check-out, the staff thoughtfully inquired about my stay and genuinely welcomed me back for future visits. Overall, choosing this place for my business trip was an excellent decision. GGuest UserThe location is fantastic, super close to Higashi-Ginza Station – literally just 2 meters away! The hotel offers a pillow menu, complimentary pajamas, and a daily onsen (hot spring bath), meaning you don't have to squeeze into a tiny in-room shower. These thoughtful amenities alone make it a truly worthwhile choice! In the evenings, there's a complimentary welcome bar offering a variety of drinks to sample at your leisure, which definitely adds a fun touch to your trip. Plus, a Yoshinoya is conveniently located just about ten meters from the hotel entrance, ideal for grabbing a late-night gyudon after a long day of shopping. What a great bonus!

Ssulee17Dormy Inn Ueno-Okachimachi boasts an excellent location, being just the shortest walk from Ueno Station. On our way, we even spotted a Torikizoku sign, and we ended up dining there one evening. Of course, with so many restaurants right across from the hotel and in the surrounding area, my 'choice paralysis' definitely kicked in! The main reason we chose Dormy Inn was for its large public bath, complete with complimentary popsicles and Yakult after a relaxing soak. Breakfast was also fantastic; the fried shrimp in the morning was absolutely divine. The breakfast was so substantial that we stayed full throughout our two-day stay, meaning we even skipped their complimentary Yonaki Soba (late-night ramen) in the evenings. The hotel only has one elevator, so there was a bit of a wait during peak hours. From our room, we had a view of the Tokyo Skytree. Despite being right next to the Shuto Expressway, there was absolutely no traffic noise, which speaks volumes about their excellent soundproofing.

AAnonymous UserStayed here for one night as an experiment and I actually liked it! The capsules are spacious and clean and I slept quite well. There is even a sleep quality analysis option which is an interesting experience. And the interior design is minimalistic and elegant However, the lockers are quite narrow and not suitable for large amounts of luggage (although there is an option to store it in a storage room). Shower was a tiny bit dirty but it was still adequate. The location is a bit inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage, you need to carry it uphill from the metro station (the neighbourhood is quiet and cozy though!). Overall, it's worth the price I still recommend it if you want to try something new

GGuest UserIt’s our first time in Tokyo. My family and I stayed in standard double bedrooms which have windows. We are really impressed with the hotel’s service. They have luggage deposit service for free. You can deposit your luggage before you check in and after you check out. They adjusted the direction of the escalator for us. The overall of rooms’ size and hotel is quite small, but it doesn’t bother that much. The location is so great that you can visit many famous shops like Uniqlo, Donki, GU near the place. And, it’s near a market and the train station including KS line. The restaurants near here are nice. The food tasted so delicious, even if we just randomly chose to eat. However, Ueno has a lot of clubs, so at night there’re several girls standing alongside the street with their guards. It may seem dangerous for someone.
