Many say its appearance is strikingly similar to the bathhouse from the Japanese animated film "Spirited Away" (千与千寻).

Hongya Cave is a stilted building complex constructed along a cliff. By night, it’s bustling with crowds. The structure has 11 floors, filled with numerous food stalls and snack shops. Due to its unique mountainous terrain, exiting from either the 1st or the 11th floor leads directly to a street—a fascinating feature that exemplifies why Chongqing is often called a "magical 3D city."

Exquisite in its architectural design, transposing traditional stilt houses on the waterfront of the Jialing River, and its background the skyscrapers of the Yuzhong peninsula in Chongqing, Hongya Cave is truly a magnificent spot to visit. From afar, the night view is magical from the bridge, the luminous lights, and the passenger ferries that come to dock, give this place a picturesque sight suitable to be photographed and immortalized. During the day, it would be a great idea to explore the many levels filled with restaurants, and shops in the Cave, while enjoying the view of the river from the higher floors. As a renowned tourist destination, the Hongya Cave is simply a must-visit, offering travelers a one-of-a-kind experience that is especially unique to the city of Chongqing.

This is a great course to properly enjoy the night view of Chongqing. In hot weather, it is a very wise choice to view the scenery from the VIP room, which costs an additional 80 yuan per person.

One of Chongqing's most popular spots, it's naturally very crowded, especially in the evening when the lights come on. There's not much to see inside. The real beauty is in the building's lighting. Be prepared to walk 11 floors, as the elevator queues are enormous. It looks very beautiful in the evening with the lights on.

August is quite hot. Walking around during the day can be tiring because the town is mostly mountainous and the paths are steep. There are no bicycles available like in other places, and it's very hot. You should bring an umbrella, hat, and fan. I recommend visiting in the evening or at night for better views, but it gets extremely crowded.

Yangtze River Cableway 🚠 Chongqing has a cableway across the Yangtze River, affectionately known by locals as the "People's Plane." Operating since 1987, it was once a simple means of transport for quickly crossing the river. But after the filming of "Crazy Rock" (the cult 2006 Chinese crime comedy), it became a true tourist attraction. Just four minutes in the air, and you'll be hovering above the river, admiring the stunningly beautiful city at night.

It's a nice park, large and clean, with observation decks offering panoramic views of the city. Here you can enjoy the peace and quiet after the endless hustle and bustle of the city, stroll along the narrow paths, and sit on a bench and simply appreciate the beauty.

Public park, inside there is a lot of happy vibe from people who come to dance choreographies and play instruments. There is street food and other things for sale. Ponds and beautiful gardens. There was a chrysanthemum exhibition when I went. If you are walking to Liziba station I suggest going to the park first because it is quite high up, going down is like a 30 hour walk.

Elling Park in Chongqing is a really big, beautiful park 🌳, perched up in one of the higher parts of the city. The observation deck is definitely worth checking out—you can climb up and take in some absolutely breathtaking views of the skyline 🏙️. A lot of elderly people 👵👴 love to hang out here, chatting and relaxing, making the atmosphere super chill. It’s a lovely place for a peaceful walk 🚶‍♂️, and even the restrooms are fancy! They have this cool, old Chinese house vibe 🏯, which adds to the charm. Definitely a spot to unwind and soak in some local culture!

The first time I visited Eling Park, I didn't have high hopes. After entering, I learned that many embassies of Chongqing were located here in the past. It is free to visit and you can look down at the Jialing River from a high vantage point.

A very beautiful and atmospheric place. But be prepared for a lot of walking up and down stairs. Beautiful old streets, lined with souvenir shops and street food. If you get away from the wide central street, you'll enjoy the walk more. The streets will be narrower, less crowded, and much more beautiful.

The hotel has a great location with wonderful views, and all the staff are extremely professional. We had a very comfortable stay. The room is a bit small and the sofa is quite compact, and the breakfast selection is somewhat limited.

King Premium River View Lounge Access
Every aspect of the hotel's service and facilities is well-balanced. Lucas was both efficient and enthusiastic, and the handwritten welcome card showed genuine sincerity. Great service is the best reflection of a hotel. If you want to briefly escape the ground and immerse yourself in the scenery, the InterContinental Raffles City is an ideal choice.

InterContinental Suite
The view at the InterContinental Raffles City is indeed a major highlight. The high-altitude lobby is very unique, offering views of the confluence of the two rivers. However, the price is on the high side—a suite cost nearly 6,000 RMB during the National Day holiday. Before check-in, I had already confirmed via Diamond Elite customer service that an unobstructed room was required, yet upon arrival, I was still assigned a room with a construction barrier outside, which severely obstructed the view. The staff were initially unwilling to change it, and only agreed to switch rooms after I got angry and emphasized that the request had been clearly made beforehand. The service attitude was poor and lacked any apology. On the positive side, the welcome fruits and minibar were quite generous, and the variety at Chonglin breakfast restaurant was decent. The waitstaff here are quite enthusiastic and will proactively ask about your needs. Even the housekeeping aunties were more polite than the front desk. A suggestion for the executive lounge: the menu should indicate whether dishes are spicy or allow guests to choose the spice level, as the staff gave no prompts at all and we had to ask about everything ourselves. Perhaps the best thing about the hotel is its prime location and beautiful night view. Overall, expectations were too high, leading to even greater disappointment.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. From check-in to check-out, the entire staff provided super friendly service. The room had a fantastic view, and welcome fruits were thoughtfully provided. Room drinks and snacks were complimentary, the little desserts in the executive lounge were delicious, and the breakfast was also exceptional.

The hotel is located in Chaotianmen, making it extremely convenient for travelers as many attractions are within walking distance. There is plenty of delicious food around, and the hotel's executive lounge also offers a wide variety of local delicacies every day. The breakfast was bountiful and delicious! The swimming pool is large and very clean, and the water temperature wasn't too cold. The service was also exceptional! We traveled with our kids, which always comes with a lot of hassle when you have two children, but Xiao Pan and Xiao Lin helped us solve everything promptly and professionally! Thank you so much 😊 We look forward to visiting Chongqing again next time, and we will definitely choose the InterContinental Raffles City ❤️

The front desk staff provided attentive service, and the room cleanliness was top-notch. The room was clean and tidy. Sitting by the balcony, enjoying the evening breeze from the Jialing River, and taking in the magnificent views around Hongyadong without even stepping outside was wonderful. At night, the brilliant lights outside the window offered a stunning view of the mountain city's nightscape—truly an exceptional vantage point.

We couldn’t be in a better location than this. The hotel is basically part of Hongyadong. Just a few steps away from shops and restaurants. Also, let’s not forget the proximity to the bridge you can cross to have views of the entire illuminated skyline of Chongqing. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. The staff went the extra mile when I lost my phone and I am really thankful for the support.

After booking, the hotel customer service proactively reached out to inform me about the view from the room type I selected. Thanks to this, I was able to cancel the river-view room in time and switch to a Hongyadong-view room, avoiding any regrets upon arrival. I really appreciate the hotel's thoughtful service! I highly recommend this hotel if you want to see the Hongyadong night view—it has an unbeatable location where you can avoid the massive crowds. When the lights of Hongyadong come on at night, the dazzling nightscape is a must-see in Chongqing. The room was clean and odorless, transportation is convenient, and the management is well-organized. Although it's located in a bustling area, it feels very safe. I've attached two night view photos taken from the room's balcony.

Melia Guestroom with Lake View
Everything else was great, and it's a wonderful place to bring kids. However, there is one thing I really have to complain about. I hadn't noticed the travel photography service initially, but when I saw it later, I called the front desk and asked the photographer to contact me directly to arrange a shoot. We set an appointment, but chatting with the photographer felt like talking to a robot—there was no communication about what I wanted. I sent over a few sample photos I had taken myself and said, 'Just shoot them like this.' We met at the scheduled time for the shoot, and that evening, my wife went through the photos to select them. I was busy working at my computer at the time and didn't look at them. My wife ended up picking 10 photos, and without thinking much about it, I just paid 480 RMB. But when I actually looked at the photos later, I was completely shocked. These photos are barely worth 50 or 60 RMB a piece! I've stayed at quite a few nice resort hotels and booked travel photography before, but I've never seen such terrible quality at this price point. Even a 15-RMB-per-photo street photographer I hired in Kunming took much better pictures than this. I really don't understand what the hotel's deal is with this photography partner. If they're just here to rip off guests, I strongly suggest the hotel switch to a different vendor, seriously. The only reason I cared so much is because I trusted the hotel's management and recommendation, but this completely exceeded my worst expectations. Nowadays, practically everyone is a photographer, and even a few casual snaps usually turn out decent. Yet, a young woman with a professional camera managed to produce the kind of results my parents get using their smartphones. I'm just speechless, and it makes me seriously question the hotel's management. I've attached some photos: the first two were taken by me in Sanya and Kunming, and the last three were taken at the hotel. I can't even help laughing when I look at them—she managed to make my wife, dressed in a leather jacket, look like a character straight out of a gritty 90s Northeast crime drama. And these were the ones *selected*; God only knows what the unselected ones looked like.

We stayed here briefly during the National Day holiday. The mountain environment is lovely, though the rain kept us from doing many outdoor activities. Still, it didn't impact our overall stay. Our butler, Corina Winnie, and Yoyo, who handled our check-in, were both incredibly patient and attentive. The play "Misty Forest" was also excellent; the kids absolutely loved it and felt really immersed.

Our family stayed at Meliá Chongqing during the National Day holiday, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel is nestled in Tieshanping Forest Park, built around a lake, offering a serene environment surrounded by lush greenery. The staff was warm and attentive, and the front desk agent, Lrving, handled our check-in efficiently. Our room was clean and comfortable, with soft bedding. The resort offers plenty of activities: a lakeside mini-train, kayaking, paddleboarding, and a water park. The kids' club is a lifesaver, allowing adults to relax and unwind. The food was delicious, and in our spare time, we even got to try a sound bath with singing bowls. Located just a 30-minute drive from the city center, it's an excellent destination for a family vacation. Highly recommended!

The room was decent, and the service was very good. The location is also excellent; it's right next to Jiaokou Station, the terminal stop of Metro Line 2. The front desk is on the 5th floor, and you can access the Shibati Scenic Area directly from the 1st floor.

It was a beautiful trip to the hotel move. The hotel is well located, right next to the Bayi Snack Street. You can see the Monument to the People’s Liberation Army from there, and it’s very convenient for getting around.

The staff was really friendly and the check-in went smooth. We really enjoyed our stay here. We left a day early and we're helped really well.

The hotel location is quite good, and the rooms are very clean. The hotel staff are also very friendly and helpful. There is a coffee machine in the lobby, but only Americano is available—though you can get iced Americano. The rooms do not have mini-fridges, which I think could be improved by adding them.

Zaoan Yunding Twin Room (Bright Outer Window + Bathroom Wet-Dry Separation)
My friends and I spent a long time looking at hotels online before finally deciding to book the twin room here. The bed linens and overall room were very clean. Plus, it's really close to Jiefangbei. It's super lively and bustling with crowds day and night. The staff were also very welcoming and polite.

Cozy Room (Double Bed)
The hotel's location is quite convenient. They even have umbrellas available to borrow on rainy days, and the front desk staff is available 24/7, so you can always turn to them for help with any issues. Since we left rather early, and our luggage was still in the room, the front desk staff even helped us move our bags to a new room.
