I booked this hotel for a friend visiting from overseas, primarily because of the Mercure brand and the newly opened hotel's fresh environment. The hotel's location is excellent. It's about 9 kilometers from Hongqiao Airport, a 25-minute taxi ride, and roughly 300 meters straight from Exit 3 of Hongcao Road Station on Metro Line 12, making travel very convenient. I had booked a standard twin room, but the front desk kindly upgraded us to a superior room upon check-in. The twin room felt a bit small, making it hard to fully open two suitcases. However, the room was spotless and very well-maintained. Although it faces a main road, the soundproofing was excellent once the windows were closed, and we didn't hear any noise. There was a sudden power outage in the room one evening when we returned, so we were promptly moved to a guest room. The staff even helped us move our belongings, providing truly attentive service. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast with 5-6 hot dishes. There are also freshly prepared Shanghainese specialties like chicken soup wontons and scallion pancakes, a wide variety of fruits, croissants, and other pastries. My colleague needed to have a meeting in the room and couldn't go down for breakfast, so the staff provided a takeout box to bring food back to the room, which was incredibly thoughtful. On the second floor, there's a self-service laundry room with washing machines, dryers, laundry detergent, and an ironing machine, which was very convenient. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with everything at the Mercure Caohejing Hotel – the environment, the comfort of the guest rooms, and the staff's service ethic. It made my overseas friend feel right at home. We will definitely choose the Mercure brand again for future stays.

The room was pretty good, just a little small. It's right opposite the subway station, which makes transportation super convenient. The front desk helped upgrade our room type, even though only an interior-facing room was left, and they also gave us complimentary fruit upon check-in. Overall, I'd recommend it.

Everything about this hotel was great, especially the service. The staff were perfectly placed; just a wave in the lobby and someone would immediately come to assist. The breakfast was thoughtfully arranged with a private booth, and the manager was very kind, even helping to lift the curtain for us. We were traveling with family for the May Day holiday and forgot our razor and toothbrushes. They proactively provided toiletries, which were quite good, especially the razor – it was really sharp, unlike the dull ones at some other hotels. Overall, I was very satisfied. I would have been even happier if breakfast had been complimentary, as my child didn't eat much anyway.

Service: First, I have to praise the incredibly excellent service. I called a day in advance to request a king room with an external window, but upon arrival, I found out it was very noisy due to its proximity to the elevated road. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and resolved the issue by upgrading us to a twin room with a window facing the residential area. What was particularly great was that they showed us the room and waited for our approval before assigning the room number. The soundproofing was also quite good. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This was my first time staying here, and she patiently explained all the hotel facilities, including the gym and pool, during check-in. The overall hotel environment is excellent, and it's very close to Hongqiao Airport and the high-speed rail station. The room hygiene was very comforting; this old brand hotel certainly does a great job in that regard. I've already recommended it to my friends. From the personalized text message I received before arriving, which included parking directions and a weather update, to the front desk attendant proactively offering warm water and completing my check-in in just 3 minutes, I felt genuinely valued throughout my entire stay. The room was impeccably clean, the bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the blackout curtains and quiet air conditioning ensured a fantastic night's sleep. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation and plenty of hot water. They even thoughtfully provided a 3-in-1 charging cable and sleep earplugs. During my stay, I casually mentioned having a sore throat, and shortly after, housekeeping delivered warm pear tea. Upon check-out, I even received a local specialty as a souvenir and bubble wrap for packing. From the facilities to the detailed service, everything was flawless. The staff were professional and attentive. I'll definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit!
