There were three buildings, from Building 1 to Building 3. Building 1 is the most impressive. From the entrance, it's a 5-minute shuttle bus ride or a 15-30 minute walk to get there. It's quite far. It was incredibly crowded. There's a photo shop. You can take pictures with the Terracotta Army, and it's very realistic and highly recommended. There are Terracotta Army figures in both Building 2 and Building 3, but they are different in each building. It's interesting. There are lots of restaurants and cafes, so you can relax after you're done. It was fun. You can see everything in about two hours.

The Terracotta Army is an extraordinary place, and seeing it in person was something I had looked forward to. Unfortunately, the crowds made it difficult to appreciate what was in front of me. There were several checks and long queues, and once inside, people were pressing close together and speaking so loudly. It was also quite hot, which made the visit more tiring.I’m glad I saw the site, but I wish I had experienced it at a quieter time, when I could have paused, listened to the stories and taken in the details of the figures. My advice is to allow plenty of time and, if possible, choose a less busy visiting period.
Recommended Xi'an Attractions #2 Daming Palace National Heritage Park
Daming Palace is the most important imperial palace site from the Tang dynasty, with expansive grounds. The park combines a museum, interactive AR experiences, and reconstructed buildings to showcase royal life and architectural artistry from the High Tang era. Visit in spring or fall—the blend of past and present here is mesmerizing.

The Danfengmen Museum is a good place for those interested in Tang history and enjoy unusual museum spaces. It's not a "wow" attraction, but rather an intimate, clever location. There are almost no exhibits as such. It's a museum of ruins, meaning you're looking mostly at foundations, remnants of walls, and pits. If you're expecting a traditional museum with display cases and artifacts, you'll be disappointed. It's more about the atmosphere and architecture. If you have an extra half day and have already seen the main things in Xi'an, it's worth a stop. As a standalone trip, probably not. But I didn't regret the time spent.

This park is very large and has some interesting statues and architecture. However, I do not recommend going in winter. You would have to visit in Spring time since it gets very hot and tiring in the summer time and too cold in the winter time.

I took on the entire 14km on foot and nailed it. If you are having a go give yourself a good 4 hrs. If you don’t fancy punishing yourself then you can hire a bicycle or just do part of the wall. There are plenty of gates to leave by along the way. There are mini exhibitions all the way around and you can download an audio guide to listen to the history. You get some wonderful views and some great photo opportunities. Highly recommended visit.

A must-see in Xi'an. It's a 13km stretch of the entire city wall (about 2 hours). They have single and tandem bikes available; it costs 45 yuan for 3 hours. It's super cool!

It's definitely worth a visit. It's not expensive, and you can visit many places. There aren't many people on the wall, so you don't have to wait in line. But you get a spot with a great view and any walking distance.

Add this to your itinerary if you're visting Xi'an! I have been to the quarter 3 times. Walk along the main path of the quarter BUT make sure you also walk down the narrow alleyways! There are LOTS of shops and food stalls you don't want to miss. Open 24/7 too so make sure you visit!

This museum is a must-visit for all tourists. It is one of the big 4 museums in China. The other three are in Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing. The fact that XiAn (in the past ChangAn used to be capital in the old dynasties for many years) it is great to see history here. We also appreciate a lot the tour lead Mr Ren Peng. He is super knowledgeable and very nice. He brought up a lot of details and also story for us to have both an entertaining but learning session. Highly recommend people to join this, especially with a tour lead who is knowledgeable like Mr Ren. Thank you. You made our visit very enjoyable.

Tickets were hard to come by, so I bought this reluctantly. It is worth the 50,000 won. Perhaps because I lack the expertise, the Tang Dynasty murals included in the ticket were at a level I could have skipped. Therefore, I strongly recommend trying to secure a free ticket.

⚠️ You need to pick up a paper ticket at the main ticket counter before entering.
The counter is on the right side when facing the front. (See photo) You present your passport, have your photo taken, and receive a paper ticket.
There are lines on both the right and left sides; I lined up on the left. The leftmost gate is for foreigners, so you hand over your ticket and enter. (I forget if a passport is required at this point.)
My stay was 2 hours, visiting the 6 permanent exhibition rooms and the murals. This was with a quick look around, so it would take longer if you looked carefully, rented an audio guide, or visited the special exhibitions. There were so many exhibits, and I was very satisfied with my visit.
Most of the toilets are squat toilets. There is no toilet paper in the stalls, but in the washroom area, so take only what you need.

This hotel is absolutely worth a special mention! First off, the location is excellent, with convenient transport links. The accompanying garden is truly unique in Xi'an. The public areas are grand and spacious, and even though it's not a tall building, it has four elevators. Our room itself was fantastic – great size, layout, natural light, and a lovely view, truly feeling like a suite.
But the most outstanding highlight is their service. From the doormen and front desk to housekeeping, everyone was incredibly polite and helpful. Any request we had was addressed immediately. We had arranged for a twin bed setup beforehand, and it was all ready when we arrived, which was very thoughtful!
Specifically, on our last day, our museum plans changed, and we couldn't get back to the hotel in time for checkout. We spoke to the front desk, and they graciously extended our checkout time on two separate occasions.

Lovely hotel, we had a huge room with 2 TVs and probably one of my favourite showers out of hundreds of hotels. The breakfast was great, staff very friendly and great location right at the heart of Xian and only 30-40min by Didi from XianBei (North Station). The exterior of the hotel didn't do it justice, but once you are in the lobby everything is taken care of. Drum and Bell towers are both easily walkable 10-15min stroll through restaurant streets and make a lovely sunset visit (open till 9pm) and wandering around the exciting if slightly chaotic street food vendors of the Muslim Quarter just next to the towers are well exploring. Get some Biang Biang or a Xian traditional Chinese Burger. The Metro is also about 10-15 mins walk roughly near the drum tower which can take you to Huaqing Palace in about 50mins North East of the city (1 simple line change) I suggest you get entry tickets and shuttle for both palace and Terracotta Warriors (+10 mins shuttle from Huaqing Palace).FromTHB 1,888

Great location! Yuanjia Village restaurants are right downstairs, and there are free shows at night. The Bell Tower is just a short walk away, and an underpass leads directly to Muslim Street. My first time trying this place, and I thought it was great! I booked the cheapest room, which I think was a 16-person dorm, but the front desk lady upgraded me to a 12-person one. I even extended my stay for another night.
The environment inside is quite peaceful. Everyone in the common areas is pretty respectful, except for a few loud shouts during billiards sometimes!
Oh, and there were a lot of foreigners, couples mostly, chatting among themselves – it had a nice vibe.
Since it was my first time, I wasn't familiar with everything and didn't prepare toiletries. When I went to shower, I even saw two guys coming out of the same stall, which honestly stunned me a bit.
However, the privacy in the restrooms and shower rooms is excellent; they're all enclosed. The hot water comes on quickly, the water pressure is strong, and everything is clean.
Everyone seemed pretty well-behaved. I mostly kept to myself, though, and didn't really interact with anyone. At one point, a foreigner asked me in English if he could use a stool. I honestly didn't understand anything he said, but I got his meaning and just waved my hand. He must have thought I was refusing him because he started to leave. I was so flustered I couldn't speak, just waving my hands around like fans, trying to convey my meaning. He must have seen my panic and understood, so he moved the stool. Only then could I relax and continue drinking my hot water alone. (I saw the front desk staff, both a guy and a lady, speaking English with the foreigners, and I was so envious! Ugh, I can only read English; I can't understand or speak it. I really need to practice my listening and speaking skills. I'll try my luck again next time.)
Overall, I think it's a pretty good place.
Oh, and its location is fantastic, right by the Bell Tower. But make sure you exit the correct subway station, or else a directionally challenged person like me will spend almost an hour wandering around trying to find it!FromTHB 219

Love love love this hotel!!! I stayed with my friend in a 2 bed 2 bath room for 8 nights and it was extremely spacious and comfortable. The rooms were very clean and the beds super super super comfy ( I could sleep it in all day but my itinerary was super full). The photos online are quite true to the actual room. They had extremely good service too, starting from the airport pickup, where they were on time and the car was spacious and luxurious! We did the 5 seater sedan at RMB100, the price is comparable to a didi premium but the difference is that they would track your flight and made sure to you were taken care of. Every tiny flower here possesses a unique beauty; they don't need to be dazzling, yet their charm is utterly irresistible. It served as a beautiful reminder: you don't need to please anyone, and true happiness isn't given but earned through your own smile. I cherished the tranquility, the white swing nestled among flowers, and the vibrant green pomegranate trees adorned with their distinctive red blossoms. The shaded courtyard was a delight, featuring brightly colored rocking chairs, sun umbrellas, and a small pebble-built stream with stone and wooden bridges. In the stream, around twenty fluffy, super cute ducklings swam playfully, even hiding under lily pads when the sun grew strong. Two brown goats contentedly grazed on the lush green grass. I even playfully called out, 'Hello there, goat, can we be friends?' Haha, a unique soul indeed! The 'Eight-Point Black' rabbits were a constant favorite with the kids, and a proud white fox enjoyed its spacious cage – perhaps not its ideal home, but certainly one where its neighbors posed no challenge! Unfortunately i didn't take many pictures but recorded videos. I booked a room type as shown in the first but received something smaller as the one in the second pic, weirdly cut. I didn't notice it as first as i was distracted by the strong smoke smell and asked the lady to change, who tried to sell me a qin shi huang mausoleum tour. Then i was brought to a room type as the one in the first pic, that's when i realised that's what i initially had booked... but there was still a smoke smell and as i really had to use the toilet i simply thought of using the A/C and opening the window, hoping it'd get better. By the evening i got startled by someone knocking at the door only to realise it was someone knocking on my neighbouring door. That's when i realised there was a 1-2cm gap between the floor and door and why i heard that loud knock. I also noticed neighbouring doors were fine and even asked the neighbouring guests if they could hear me. Anyway; that's when i demanded for a second change and only then, when i was a bit assertive and insisting on a new room, did i get a proper room. But there was small issue with the 3rd room too, with the drainage as the water took around 5mins to flow away, making noise. But that wasn't an big issue. It seems like this hotel seems to follow the procedure to give problematic rooms to customers who seem easy-going, which is a known tactic to chinese people from china but not so to foreigners. Beside of that, my stay was pleasant, the breakfast was rich and they have a big variety. I just think it was a bit of a waste of time trying to sell those tobacco smell rooms to me. You can easily fix those by endorsing proper no smoking rules or use a filter machine before, removing smoke. Beside of the convenience as it's really close to all main attractions i just find those actions subpar. Which is an issue with whoever decides to implement such strategies.FromTHB 1,217

Completely different from the bustling city vibe around the Bell Tower, this Tang-style garden hotel is nestled in Qujiang. The hotel is right next to Qujiang Lake, and they offer complimentary sightseeing bus and boat tours of Qujiang, which was a great experience. I did a lot of research for my trip to Xi'an and finally settled on this hotel. The location is absolutely unbeatable. Xiangzimiao Street is right downstairs, full of unique shops. It was so convenient to explore late into the evening and just walk a few steps back to the hotel.
The biggest surprise was the fourth-floor terrace. Having breakfast there in the morning was a real 'wow' moment! It faces directly onto the Yongning Gate city wall, and the view is just incredible. Every photo I took looked great, and so many people asked me which hotel it was when I posted them. The breakfast tasted delicious, and I recommend the beef noodles. Honestly, just sitting there and eating felt so atmospheric.
