Cuihu District Kunming|1.57km from downtown
The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, very close to Cuihu Park and the Former Site of the Yunnan Military Academy. The library is right across the street, and Kunming Old Street is within walking distance. There are tons of restaurants and snack shops nearby, and a Walmart is also very close. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, the rooms are spacious, clean, and tidy, and the staff are always responsive to requests. Breakfast is mainly Western-style, with a wide variety and high quality. We even received snowflake crisps and fruit upon check-in. The price is very reasonable, offering excellent value for money. Just one suggestion: the water pressure from the bathroom faucet is a bit low, making it a rush to wash up; this could use some improvement.

After leaving a green hotel full of corridors and doors early in the morning, arriving at the Holiday Inn City Center was a truly pleasant experience. The hotel staff were very enthusiastic and even upgraded me to a Grand Corner Room. Lying on the sofa by the large window and looking outside was so relaxing, it really brightened my mood. I ordered the breakfast small-pot rice noodles, and it was delivered quickly. The mini-bar also provided complimentary tamarind juice, which was perfect for cutting through the richness of the Erkuai (rice cakes). I also requested a knife to cut my mangosteen, and it was promptly delivered. The only minor regret was that the bathtub stopper was missing at the bottom; I came back too late that day to ask the staff to fix it. This is a small flaw, and the hotel is still excellent, but I do hope it can be fixed to make the stay even more perfect.

My stay at Kunming Jia Hua Plaza Hotel was excellent overall. The hotel's location is fantastic, with convenient transportation and easy access to attractions and dining options. The front desk staff were very welcoming and efficient with check-in and check-out, and all the staff were friendly. The room was clean and tidy. Despite the hotel being over 20 years old, the facilities are well-maintained, and the bedding was comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The hotel environment is generally quiet, making it a suitable choice for a stay while exploring Kunming. The breakfast offered a good variety of dishes and tasted great. Overall, I was very satisfied with the location, service, and the entire stay. It offers good value for money, and I would consider staying here again on my next visit to Kunming.

I stayed here a few days before the October holiday, and then went to another city to travel. When I came back, because of the good experience before, I decisively booked here again. I was very satisfied with my stay at Crowne Plaza Kunming City Centre. The front office managers, Jenny, Nova, and Angel, followed up on my room every day and asked about my needs, making me feel at home. The room was clean and tidy, and the soundproofing was excellent. I highly recommend it! Additionally, I compared the prices of souvenirs and tobacco/alcohol counters on the first floor of the lobby with outside stores, and they were similar. So if you're traveling and want to buy souvenirs, you can buy them with confidence.

South Asia Feature No. 1 City Kunming|2.91km from downtown
We were on a family trip and originally planned to stay at the Grand Hyatt Kunming, but we couldn't get a room because we hadn't booked in advance. So we ended up staying at this hotel instead, and the overall experience was comfortable and recommendable. Our room was on a higher floor with an expansive view, though there's still some development happening around the hotel. The room itself was small but clean, and the facilities were well-maintained. The shower had great water pressure, which was refreshing. The window allowed for good natural light, and it was quiet at night, so we slept soundly. Downstairs, there are many snack options, and Wanda Plaza is right next door, making it convenient for finding food. The hotel breakfast offered a rich selection. The hotel is about a 15-minute taxi ride from Kunming Station. The overall price was affordable, making it a good choice for family trips, business travel, and more. Yuma and Ray at the front desk were very enthusiastic and meticulous in their service, and other staff members were also friendly and greeted guests warmly, which was much appreciated.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this hotel; it offers great value for money. The hygiene, service, and location are all excellent. Although some facilities are a bit old, it didn't affect their use. The minor flaws don't detract from its overall quality, so I'm still giving it 5 stars – definitely a safe bet. GIN's service was very thoughtful and professional; I often sought his advice before heading out. Getting around the city center is very convenient, and the surrounding amenities are complete. The room was spacious and comfortable, ensuring a high quality of rest. The price is reasonable, making it a highly cost-effective choice.

The front desk staff were gentle and polite, efficient in their work, and made me feel very welcome. The price was affordable, and the value for money is definitely among the best in its category. This is an established five-star hotel. My friends and I stayed here during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday. The lobby is very grand, and the rooms are relatively clean. The hotel facilities are comprehensive. They even provided thoughtful touches like fruit and Mid-Autumn white fungus soup. The 'Guo Qiao Mi Xian' (crossing-the-bridge noodles) was authentic and delicious. The hotel is right next to Cuihu Lake; you can see it as soon as you step downstairs. The room decor is retro. Overall, I think it's good value for money, and I'll definitely come again.

Must give it five stars! I booked this hotel for its proximity to the airport and the free shuttle service, and my experience far exceeded expectations. I arranged for airport pickup in advance, and the driver was already waiting when I landed, which was incredibly efficient. It only took less than ten minutes to get from the airport to the hotel, making it perfect for early morning flights or late-night arrivals. Kunming Wild Animal Park/The Golden Temple scenic spot Kunming|8.44km from downtown
My overall experience during this stay was absolutely fantastic, and I must give a special shout-out to Lily (the server). She was incredibly welcoming during check-in, proactively helped with luggage to my room, and thoroughly explained all the hotel's amenities. Knowing I was traveling with two young children, she thoughtfully provided special kids' slippers and toothbrushes and even added extra safety rails, ensuring my little ones' safety during our stay. Since it was raining and difficult to go out, Lily actively invited the kids to participate in the hotel's DIY craft activities. My younger child is only two and not yet skilled at mixing and applying colors, but the staff patiently helped with the paints and guided her hand-in-hand through the creation process. At one point, my older child needed to attend an online meeting, and it was easy to be disturbed by her younger sibling in the room. After speaking with Lily, she immediately suggested using the hotel's study room, where she flexibly managed the ambient noise based on the children present, which was a huge help for me. Objectively, the room's hardware facilities might have a slight drawback, but the staff's exceptionally thoughtful and proactive, warm service more than made up for any shortcomings in the hardware. It was arguably the best service I've ever experienced during any stay. I'll definitely prioritize choosing this hotel again for my next trip.

Dianchi Lake Scenic Area/ Sunac World Kunming|8.2km from downtown
1. This hotel by Dianchi Lake primarily boasts its scenic views and fresh air. However, encountering a room contaminated with cigarette smoke can be quite a jarring contrast. Of course, smoking is a personal choice and uncontrollable. But smokers are a small segment of hotel guests; most are families with elderly and children. As a hotel, something should be done to safeguard everyone's health. The country has introduced many new regulations on smoking, and I hope the hotel can respond and implement positive oversight. 2. Regarding the buffet environment. Firstly, I was very satisfied with the wide variety of dishes, many with unique characteristics, available at this price point. However, the ventilation in the dining area is a significant problem. The staff explained that windows and doors couldn't be opened due to insects, which is a bit disappointing. If the air conditioning isn't strong enough, then air circulation should compensate, but unfortunately, the stuffy environment with cooking fumes and heat created a very unpleasant experience. This hotel stay, I want to thank MIA for your proactive responses and meticulous care. Thank you [rose]

This is a very international hostel, with many foreign guests. It has its own bar, which caters to Western habits – the bar doubles as a restaurant. The rooms are small, and everything is a bit compact, but the decor creates a great atmosphere. There's also a small garden for outdoor dining and relaxation. They serve all three meals, a mix of Chinese and Western cuisine, and overall, it's quite good. The location is fantastic. Just one block out, you're directly opposite Cuiping Park, and two blocks away is the old town with many local restaurants frequented by residents. The only slight downside is the poor soundproofing. In the mornings, you can clearly hear people talking in the hallway when they leave their rooms.

The hotel environment is quite good, right near Dianchi Lake (part of the reason I booked this hotel). During the National Day holiday, it wasn't overly crowded, and both breakfast and the dinner buffet were delicious. The housekeeping auntie was extremely, extremely responsible! Her service was top-notch. The concierge staff were also excellent; they could deliver meals to the room. Because I caught a cold due to the temperature drop in Yunnan these past two days, they even sent ginger tea. And since my flight was a bit later, they accommodated our request for a late check-out. Overall, besides the TV being a bit small, there's really nothing else to complain about. I've stayed in many good hotels, some even more expensive and with more prominent brands, but they weren't as good as this one. This hotel truly impressed me, please keep up the great work!

The location is excellent, right by Cuihu Lake. The room was indeed small, but that's understandable given the prime real estate around the lake. The in-room amenities are all high-end brands like Duravit, which shows the designer's attempt to compensate for the small size. The bedside power strip and reading light design are also quite clever. The service was great; the front desk staff were enthusiastic and even helped with laundry and promptly mailed back an item I left in the room. My only minor complaint is that the lobby can get quite noisy during lunch and dinner service. I feel for the ladies working at the front desk who have to patiently assist guests and answer questions in such an environment – you all are doing a fantastic job!

The hotel isn't new, but you can tell it's well-maintained. The afternoon tea is a bit basic, but the breakfast options are quite plentiful. They use L'Occitane toiletries. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the service. The front desk was very responsive when I asked to change rooms, and there were welcome fruits. My only minor complaint is that a staff member knocked and then entered the room without waiting for a response. I switched from a Luxury King room to a Hot Spring King room. The Luxury King was on the 2nd floor, directly facing the restaurant downstairs and the golf course outside. The view was nice, but it was a bit noisy. After changing rooms, the privacy was much better, even though I sacrificed some indoor space. It's less than a ten-minute walk to Haigeng Park, making evening strolls very relaxing. I ordered takeout, but the hotel doesn't allow the deliveryman to deliver to the room because it was inconvenient for me, so I asked the front desk for help, and it was delivered to the room very quickly. When I asked the reason, the front desk guy told me that it was for the safety of the guests that the deliveryman was not allowed to go upstairs. The hotel has trained guests that if they need takeout to the room, they can help deliver it. The overall feeling of the hotel is good, and the service attitude is very good. When I checked in, I asked about the surrounding attractions and routes, and they explained it very patiently. The room internet connection was very fast, and I asked the waiter, who told me that each room has an independent dedicated line. The room feels clean, and you can swim, exercise, and take a hot spring bath. Since I had a lot of fun, I didn't have time to take a few photos of the hotel. It is definitely more wedding venue, more local oriented, very nice territory around, good for photoshoot and stuff , nice and friendly staff helped me a lot, but it was a bit confusing in general, like i booked it cause of hotsprings and outdoor pool, turns out you cannot use the outdoor pool and from all hot things was working only one stone bath. So basically we ended up in a very strange situation when 3 groups of people have or to wait in line to that bath or seat on each other. However Indoor pool was nice, big and clean, but bring your towel. The room itself is ...let's say not cosy and a lot reminded a changing room, probably cause of sink right next to the bed. So sum up, good place to have fun, massage, spa say, nice photos and so on, but maybe not a best place to stay for tourist.

1️⃣ Location: The hotel is very close to Cuihu Lake. We walked with our stroller to Cuihu Park and Yuantongshan Zoo within a day. Downstairs is a prime citywalk route, passing by Zhibushi (a stationery store) and Rubber Bookstore. Ordering takeout was incredibly convenient, with a wide variety of options and delicious food. We enjoyed Dianhong lattes while tea-tasting uphill and avocado yogurt from Xiangzi Tea Shop. 2️⃣ Room Condition: The 13th-floor front desk was well-decorated and impressive. The room we booked was advertised as 28 square meters, but the actual room we were initially assigned upon check-in didn't seem that large. Plus, the window overlooked an old residential complex, which didn't match the city street view mentioned in the description. After contacting the hotel, they moved us to a room with a street view that was also slightly larger. 🛀 The showerhead was excellent; showering was very enjoyable. 3️⃣ Service: Check-in was after 2:00 PM, but even though we arrived after 3:00 PM, we still waited about 15 minutes to check in. Calls to the front desk were answered quickly, and you could tell the staff were dedicated, but perhaps they were a bit overwhelmed due to too many guests. 4️⃣ Facilities: There's a laundry room and treadmill on the 1st floor. The washer and dryer worked well, and the treadmill was good too. An hour of incline walking finally burned some calories. The downside is that the elevator is quite small and easily gets overloaded. 5️⃣ Value for Money: We paid 500+ for the hotel. Since the room was still quite small, I feel most of the money went towards the location, so the value for money wasn't very high. If location isn't your top priority, a hotel on Nanping Street would also be a good option.

However, if you have high expectations for facility quality and hygiene, you might want to reconsider. The location is its biggest advantage. It's about a ten-minute walk to Tongde Plaza and Baiyun Road subway station, with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making dining and shopping easy. The hotel also has a free parking lot, which is a plus for those traveling by car. Check-in at the front desk was efficient, and the staff's attitude was neither overly enthusiastic nor neglectful. However, the shortcomings in the stay experience are also quite noticeable. Arriving around 2 PM, well past the usual cleaning time, I found a large bag of trash left behind the door when I opened it, indicating a clear oversight in the housekeeping's final checks. The room was not large, with a compact layout, leaving limited space after luggage was placed. The hardware showed significant signs of aging: the wall outlets were visibly worn, with yellowed and loose plastic casings, clearly indicating their age. The metal shelf by the sink was already rusty, suggesting a lack of attention to detail in maintenance, which falls short of the brand's positioning. Additionally, during my stay, people often rang the doorbell in the evening. While this was likely caused by outsiders mistakenly pressing the wrong bell and not entirely the hotel's fault, it did disrupt the peace and quiet of the stay. Overall, its strengths are the location and value for money, with prices being mid-range in the Tongde area. If you're looking for a short-term stay and aren't particular about the age of the hardware, this place is an option. However, if you value hygiene details and room quality, there are better choices at the same price point.

Dianchi Lake Scenic Area/ Sunac World Kunming|6.26km from downtown
The hotel is located in 1903, which is very convenient for travel and shopping. The breakfast ingredients are fresh and taste great. The room has good lighting and is very comfortable. There is a self-service laundry room on the second floor, as well as a gym. The service of the front desk and the cleaning lady is also great. It will definitely be the first choice when I come to Kunming next time.

Suitable for all traveller types. Staff friendly, though no support given to tourists - not even brochures. The main shortcoming was the breakfast room is too small to meet the number of guests: there are only four tables for two persons, but strangely there are more large tables for groups from six to twelve people. Many guests line up before the 7am opening, making the first fifteen to forty-five minutes more like a canteen rush: the food platters are stripped bare quickly with the staff needing more than half-an-hour to replace them. Moreover, the guests grab any seat without a body on it (regardless if you have left a book etc on the table), showing how desperately small the breakfast space is.

Great hotel, super clean and modern rooms that were very well equipped with anything you could need. They have outside gardens on each floor and beautiful courtyards to hmrest when you want a break from being out all day. The breakfast is delicious, a good selection of local and western items. Location was very cool next to the night market so plenty of fun places to have meals and despite the market being there all day, the rooms were extremely quiet. Also very easy and quick (under 20 mins) to get a didi to Kunming station.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at 26 Life hotel thank to the staffs and its location. What we like most here: 1. Staff: Xiao Bai and Xiao Wan, the 2 receptionists are lovely guys. Xiao Bai pick us up outside of the buiding to help us with the luggage. He is also professional in handling his work. he seems a bit serious on his face but once you know him, he is a nice guy. Xiao Wan is a lovely young boy. We talked a lot, he made us yummy milk tea, bought for us ice crea, fruit tea....and gave us some sourvenir. They are the ones made my stay here. Thank you guys! Moreover the hotel staffs also helped to received a package for me before my check in. 2. Location: it locates on the 4th floor of a building. It has a good location, where we can access easily to the shopping mall, the food stores. There is a small food court on the ground floor of the same building. The 1st store after the stair case once you enter the building sells pretty good noodles. 3. The balcony: my room is 201, with a balcony overlooking the garden on the ground and an open space to the big building in front, which gave us a peaceful corner to sit and talk and enjoy the nice spring weather. 4. The costume: the hotel offers free Miao costume to wear and take photo inside the hotel. Xiao Wan, the receptionist also help to take soem nice photos for us. What should be improved: 1. The cleanliness: the room facilities were a bit old but the cleanliness is definitely something can be changed and improved: like the table in the balcony, which should have been clean the surface. 2. The amenities: the big bath towels are torn out at the 2 edges. They can be reused as footmat or rag to recycle. New bath towel should be seriously considered. 3. The TV: A slow internet connection is causing the TV to stutter and lag, making it impossible to watch.making it not enjoyable to watch.

The room was unexpectedly retro-styled, and although the hotel isn't located right by tourist attractions, it's in a private courtyard which felt very safe, secure, and quiet. The craft beer every night was actually the biggest reason I chose to stay here – it felt like a beer lover coming home! They serve until 11 PM, but I arrived late and messaged them a few minutes before closing, and they still delivered it to my room. Overall, I'm very satisfied. The breakfast was also delicious, and for the Western option, they contact you 15 minutes in advance to deliver it to your room. I'll definitely prioritize staying here again next time and will recommend it to friends. My only regret is that I missed the afternoon tea ice cream because I was out sightseeing. If I had to offer some suggestions, first, I think the quality of the toothbrushes could be improved. The current disposable ones really don't match the overall vibe of the hotel, and they even shed bristles. Second, it would be great if they could add another set of washing machines and dryers for laundry. Waiting too long to do laundry after coming back in the evening, and then having to wait an extra hour for drying when I wasn't able to keep an eye on it after washing, was a bit inconvenient.

South Asia Feature No. 1 City Kunming|2.4km from downtown
I first booked this hotel in Kunming when I went to Dali, and I chose it again when I returned from Dali. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are spacious, and the price is reasonable. It's a 20-minute walk to Wanda Plaza, or you can take an e-bike. I really liked their breakfast and the laundry room; it was clearly maintained by a dedicated person, very clean and tidy. I'm planning to book this hotel again next time I visit Kunming specifically for a trip. Plus, there's a great restaurant downstairs – a stir-fry place that's quite authentic, but I forgot its name.
