The only thing that has changed, and not for the better, is the service and management. Firstly, upon arrival, the concierge desk was completely empty. Guests had to haul their own luggage and children to check-in. At the front desk, there was a female employee who seemed like it was her first day on the job; she provided no information about breakfast, the hot springs, shuttle times, or even game machine tokens. My child wanted to exchange a toy, and it took three trips to the lobby and a six-hour wait to resolve the issue. Each time, all she said was, 'Sorry, we were just busy.' We were the only family in the entire lobby, so I have no idea what she was busy with. Secondly, another male employee was also completely devoid of any human empathy. After 11 AM, the shuttle runs only once an hour, but before 11 AM, it can depart at any time. We arrived at the front desk just before 11 AM to request a departure, and this employee falsely claimed the driver was out to lunch and couldn't leave. As we were about to leave the hotel on foot, we saw the shuttle right outside with the driver inside. The driver then went back to the lobby to try and communicate for us, but the front desk employee still refused to let the shuttle leave. Thirdly, on our first night, guests upstairs watched the World Cup until late, causing noise from midnight until 2 AM. I repeatedly tried to communicate with the front desk, but they insisted there was no noise, claiming it was thunder outside, which was laughable. The next day, there was no explanation or apology whatsoever. Absolutely fantastic, just fantastic.

They were also very kind and proactive about sharing information about local restaurants and activities, and provide a breakfast and evening fruit every day. They offer free car transport to Disneyland, and I was excited to use this service but I ended up enjoying my time at the hotel so much that I opted to stay and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere instead! The hotel pets are so friendly - within five minutes the little cat Banban was on my lap and purring. The room itself is decorated very nicely with all the amenities you need. The bathtub inside is very comfortable and I loved the outdoor hot spring tub as well. The attention to hygiene is very highly emphasized and I was impressed with how clean and luxurious everything felt. I will definitely visit again and recommend to anyone hoping to have a convenient getaway from the city, or who would like to be near to Disneyland Resort while also experiencing a more peaceful area and for a good economical value and high quality service! Stayed for four nights and it was a very comfortable hotel. Transportation: It's very close to the train station, making travel around the area very convenient. It's also only a 15-minute ride to the Bund. The subway station is about two traffic lights away from the hotel (a 5-8 minute walk). One day, I took my child to Disneyland, and a taxi ride took 45 minutes. Facilities: You can tell it's been renovated and upgraded. The smart toilet was convenient, and the hairdryer was a Laifen. The swimming pool was bright and comfortable; my child wanted to swim there every day during our stay. Service: The service was warm and friendly. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, which always put me in a good mood when I returned; the concierge proactively helped with luggage and was very responsive with car services. Suggestion: During peak breakfast hours, I recommend adding a seating service. Over the weekend, there was a corporate event, and the number of diners surged. It was hard to find a table, and the staff weren't very proactive in clearing tables. I suggest improving service awareness in this area.

They gave us an ideal room with a view of the Pearl Tower! The service was excellent; they really went out of their way to help us due to our flight cancellation because of a typhoon. At the reception, there were Russian-speaking hostesses, and the local hostesses also spoke decent English. The rooms truly felt like heavy luxury! Everything worked perfectly. On the downside, breakfast was very specifically Chinese, you really had to pick and choose what to eat to avoid food you weren't accustomed to. Also, the hotel allegedly miscalculated our stay twice, increasing the cost retroactively each time. Another unpleasant detail is that booking this hotel through Trip.com is considered a pre-booking, and you will effectively be charged twice at the hotel itself, plus a deposit for your stay. The pre-booking amount will only be refunded a few days after checkout – just be prepared for this.

There was also a large, separate bathroom. It's an ideal option for a family with a child. The breakfasts are very good, with options for both children and adults. The only thing I didn't notice was an omelet station; there were fried eggs and scrambled eggs instead. But you won't go hungry; a delicious and hearty breakfast is guaranteed.

Stayed here with my boyfriend. We originally booked a deluxe room, and we checked in quite late on a rainy day in Shanghai. The front desk staff were super friendly and gave us a free upgrade! That definitely earned them some points. We were so tired after a 10+ hour flight, but the soundproofing was excellent, and we had a wonderful first night's sleep. Midway through our stay, some ********* guests next door were a bit noisy, so we brought it up the next day. Manager Zhou handled it perfectly, and we were so impressed! I absolutely loved our stay! It's so true that Shanghainese people only get to be tourists in their own city when they're visiting from out of town! 😄 I have to rave about the Gold Room – every detail was just perfect! It's a shame I checked in late and missed dinner. I absolutely loved the breakfast at F9; it was much quieter than the first floor and the food quality was superior. The afternoon tea served with Narumi tableware was also a lovely, high-end touch. The swimming pool was quite small, and having three lifeguards watching just me swim was a little awkward. 😅 Many of the staff were Shanghainese, and hearing their familiar local dialect was so comforting! The parking garage, due to the historical nature of the building, had its inconveniences. Ultimately, the true highlights of the Peace Hotel are its architecture, the meticulous soft furnishings, and its rich historical heritage. Next time I'm home for a trip, I'll definitely be back to make up for that missed dinner!
