The hotel's location is pretty good. The one-day tour I booked met right outside the Windsor Hotel, which was only a few minutes' walk away. Both Red Apple and Green Apple supermarkets are within walking distance, and Chinatown isn't far either, making evenings very lively. The hotel facilities are admittedly a bit old, but the hygiene is decent. Breakfast is just okay, but it's filling, and surprisingly, they even offered congee. When checking out, since I paid a cash deposit, I had to wait a while for them to inspect the room before I could get my money back and leave. After the room check, I realized I'd left a piece of clothing in the room. The staff brought it down for me, neatly folded and presented it with both hands, which I really appreciated!

The hotel is a bit old, but its location is a big plus – super convenient for shopping! The bed was comfy and soft, and the in-room facilities were well-equipped. No one offered to help with luggage, and the hotel has two entrances, but the staff didn't tell me which one was easier for catching a ride. When I came back by taxi, they didn't open the door for me, but when my friends dropped me off, they were very enthusiastic, opened the car door, and greeted us!

The room was decent, and the bed was incredibly soft, a real 'white-people bed' as they say, with excellent blackout curtains perfect for sleeping. We booked a one-bedroom suite, and the staff thoughtfully added an extra bed for us. The only downside was the somewhat chaotic front desk management. When we checked in, they told us the suite we booked was unavailable, claiming it was double-booked and offering us a standard room instead. It was the first time I'd heard of being downgraded because a room wasn't available! 😂 After I showed them our confirmation, they fiddled around a bit and eventually 'found' a suite for us. However, our booking included breakfast, and after the room change, we couldn't access the breakfast area the next day. We had to go back to the front desk to explain the situation again, and they finally gave us a card. On the second morning of our stay, we again couldn't get breakfast and spent another half an hour sorting it out. It was quite a hassle, making me feel like the money spent wasn't really worth it. Throughout the whole process, there was no mention of compensation; they just fixed the immediate problem. In previous hotels, when there was an issue, they usually provided a better experience after resolving it. As for the restaurant teacups, honestly, they weren't clean; many had coffee stains.

The room was very spacious, and the location was excellent, right in the city center. It was convenient to get everywhere; the train station, state library, and other attractions were all within about a 10-minute walk. There were also plenty of great food options nearby, but the facilities were relatively old.

One of the not-so-great hotels I have stayed in (And I travel a lot!) - Staff is the only good thing I found in this hotel- Always smiling & willing to help, right from staff in housekeeping to reception. - Located right in the heart of Melbourne city center, but surrounded by buildings on 3 sides. Just 2 top end rooms on every floor that get a street view. All others either have a wall facing them, or a tin roof of a lower building. Felt quite claustrophobic. - Minimal amenities: No laundry service in the hotel (Only dry cleaning), no water in the room (Get it from a tap in the floor - I got locked out twice because I forgot my key in the room), not even a wire to hang/dry something in the bathroom. Definitely not meant for someone who wants basic amenities - not for business travellers for sure.

👍 The Ibis Melbourne Central Hotel's location is absolutely perfect! It's super convenient for transport, being so close to the central station and all the major attractions. The hotel facilities are new, the room is spacious and bright, and the bedding is comfortable. The front desk staff are very enthusiastic and promptly helped solve any issues. We regularly stay at this accommodation for our special occasions whenever we visit Melbourne, due to our previous enjoyable experiences, its convenient location, and the added benefit of discounted parking. However, our recent stay was disappointing compared to earlier visits. The level of service has declined, with no greeting or recognition as returning guests, which we had appreciated before. We were also assigned a very small room, the worst we have stayed in at this property. While the location and parking remain strong advantages, the drop in service and room quality made this stay less enjoyable than expected.

We recently stayed at Novotel Melbourne on Little Collins, and overall had a comfortable and convenient experience. The biggest highlight is definitely the excellent location in the heart of Melbourne CBD. It’s very easy to get around, with plenty of shopping, dining, and attractions within walking distance. We arrived earlier than check-in time, and the staff kindly allowed us to store our luggage, which made things much easier. We were also offered a discounted breakfast option during check-in, which was a nice touch. The gym facilities were well-maintained, and we enjoyed using them during our stay. The room was a bit more compact compared to other hotels we stayed at during this trip, but still clean and functional. Although we had requested a higher floor, we were assigned a lower-level room, which currently faces some construction. One thing to note is that the lift system can be slightly inconvenient, as the reception is on Level 3 and requires a transfer between lifts. There were also a few instances where the lift didn’t respond as expected. Additionally, there isn’t a self-service laundry facility available. Overall, despite a few minor inconveniences, we enjoyed our stay—especially because of the prime location and helpful service.

Not a bad stay at this hotel, which was conveniently located near Myers and the walking street. Its a good no frill hotel with a friendly help desk. The only issue we had was finding a place for our car for parking nearby. We could only parking at Docklands as it had cheaper daily rates. The views of the Yarra river and the public library were amazing!

Great hotel with excellent service and value for money. I accidentally left 700 AUD in the room safe after check-out and only realized it at the airport. The staff handled it quickly and professionally, and I got my money back without any hassle. The hotel feels very safe and quiet, the room is spacious and comfortable, and the front desk staff are friendly. The location is perfect — opposite Southern Cross Station, easy for trains and the airport, with a Coles supermarket across the street. The area is very walkable. Highly recommended!

The location is excellent, within walking distance to the Royal Arcade, State Library, Flinders Street Station, and the Royal Botanic Gardens. Plus, tours pick up just 500 meters from the hotel, which is super convenient. The Hilton's interior is exquisite. We got a great deal during the off-peak season, though the price was a bit higher during our stay due to Melbourne's carnival and racing events. Some toiletries aren't provided, but you can always ask the front desk. Daily housekeeping was spotless.

For my 21-day trip to Australia, I stayed in 11 hotels across Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Here's my ranking of the best to worst experiences (with value for money considered): 1. Capella Sydney (low value for money) 2. Park Hyatt Melbourne (high value for money) 3. InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto (medium value for money) 4. Crown Towers Melbourne (high value for money) 5. Le Méridien Melbourne (medium value for money) 6. Hilton Adelaide (medium value for money) 7. The Langham Melbourne (low value for money) 8. Citadines on Bourke Melbourne (best value for money) 9. Meriton Suites Waterloo, Sydney (high value for money) 10. Best Western Plus Travel Inn Hotel Melbourne (low value for money) 11. The Hotel Windsor Melbourne (worst value for money) Now, let's talk about the InterContinental Melbourne The Rialto. Like The Windsor, it's a heritage hotel, and its beauty is undeniable. It truly looks like a 19th-century Neo-Gothic Venetian castle! Located in the heart of Collins Street, it's one of InterContinental's most luxurious heritage hotels worldwide. When you stay here, you can't help but spend time exploring, as both the exterior and interior decor are magnificent, and the room facilities are top-notch. It's definitely worth a stay.

The location is absolutely unbeatable, right in the heart of Melbourne's city center. Stepping out, you're immediately at St. Paul's Cathedral and Federation Square, with major shopping areas and attractions all within walking distance, making getting around and shopping incredibly convenient. The hotel itself boasts a style of understated luxury. The rooms are spacious, with a high-quality decor, and the bathroom amenities are top-notch, ensuring a very comfortable stay. The service throughout was attentive and thoughtful, with professional and detailed concierge and turndown services that were promptly delivered. The breakfast spread was extensive, offering a full range of both Chinese and Western options with fresh ingredients. The only minor downsides were that the building has some age, with a few facilities showing their years, and during peak breakfast hours, it can get crowded with a slightly slower refill rate for dishes. Overall, it remains a prime choice among Melbourne's high-end hotels, perfect for both business trips and leisure stays.

Need to check in on the 2nd floor. Location: It's on a very narrow street with a small sign, but it's close to Chinatown which is quite convenient. Downstairs, there's a Chinese noodle restaurant that accepts WeChat Pay, and also a cafe. Cleanliness: Overall, it's quite new. There are no toothbrushes or slippers, and the room isn't big, but it's fine for one person. It's cleaned daily. The sink, toilet, and shower are all separate. There's a kettle, but no bottled water; you need to go to the 2nd floor to get water. I stayed on the 24th floor, the elevator is fast, and the night view from the window is nice.

The bathroom design wasn't very practical. The sink in the toilet was too small to be useful at all, and the vanity outside was a waste of space, so my friend and I ended up using the kitchen sink to wash up. The hotel's location is great, but being close to the railway, you inevitably hear train noises. It was very loud in both bedrooms. Also, not every room has air conditioning; only the bedrooms do. If you close the door to other rooms while sleeping, there's no AC, which led to me getting hotter and hotter one night and sweating a lot. Opening the window was too noisy, which was a really awkward situation. The front desk is only open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, which means if you leave your luggage, you have to pick it up promptly in the evening, otherwise you'll have to wait until the next day. I think the hotel's pricing, considering it's an apartment hotel, offers great value for money, especially with its excellent location. It's very convenient to get anywhere. There's a free tram stop right outside, and South Cross Station is just one street and one intersection away. Plus, both one-day tours we booked had nearby pick-up points, which was a nice surprise we didn't know before booking the tours.

The apartments are good but dirty. The staff smiles to guests but don’t solve problems. First, when I arrived to the hotel it was early, their check in is after 3pm. The guy at the reception offered me to complete paperwork for check in. He also said that I can go for a walk and they will contact me once the room is ready. I gave him my Australian number but I never got a call. When I came back around 3:30pm the room key was ready for me, but why couldn’t they call me as promised? Second, the room was dirty especially bath tub (see photos). It had hair and skin of previous guests there- it seems they don’t really clean it. Second, next day morning I asked for packed breakfast because I went for a tour but the lady continued asking me why I need it and whether I want to check out one day early, why?.. third, the internet password did not work, so I went to reception and asked them to fix the problem. A lady took my phone and fixed it but instead solving the password issue she just reconnected using different option but she didn’t tell it to me . When I went back to my room it appeared that I still cannot connect my laptop so I had to go to the reception again. If the hotel staff know ls about Internet problem why not to fix it for everyone? Finally, they ask guests to clean their rooms before leaving otherwise cleaning charge will be applied. This is nonsense!

I recently stayed at Citadines on Bourke Melbourne for 8 nights and overall had a good experience, which I would rate around 4 out of 5 stars. The location is excellent and the hotel offers good value for a stay in Melbourne’s CBD. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, and I appreciated that housekeeping was provided every two days rather than daily, which I was perfectly happy with. However, there were a few areas where the experience could be improved. Housekeeping was somewhat inconsistent during my stay. On several occasions, floor towels were not replaced, some areas of the room appeared to be missed during cleaning, pillow covers were not changed when expected, and not all toiletries were refilled. It was frustrating to discover there was no soap or shampoo while already in the shower, requiring a call to reception and a wait for replenishment. The shower itself could also be improved, as the hot water temperature fluctuated quite noticeably between hot and cold, making it difficult to maintain a comfortable shower. There were also a couple of minor inconveniences upon arrival. The parking, while available, costs approximately AUD $45 per day and the process of locating and accessing it was somewhat confusing on the first day. Additionally, there was no HDMI cable in the room, which meant I had to request one from reception. Housekeeping also occasionally forgot to clear the trash, which added to the inconsistency of the service. The kitchenette could also be better equipped. I found the dustbin to be quite small for an extended stay, the knives were not very sharp, and there was no chopping board provided, which made preparing meals less convenient. On a positive note, after our 8-night stay, the hotel was able to provide us with a complimentary one-hour late checkout, which was appreciated and helped end the stay on a better note. Despite these issues, the staff were generally helpful when assistance was needed, and the overall stay was pleasant. With a little more attention to housekeeping consistency, maintenance, and guest amenities, this hotel could easily provide an even better experience. Overall, I would still consider staying here again due to the great location and comfortable accommodation.

Facilities: Similar to a standard budget hotel in China, there's no bottled water, no slippers, and no dental kit. Surprisingly, you can choose your pillow – I picked a latex one, which was quite good. The location is pretty good; there's a lovely park right across the street, and it's just a few minutes' walk to Chinatown, so dining is very convenient. Breakfast was just okay, and **definitely do NOT order coffee from the staff! Definitely do NOT order coffee from the staff! Definitely do NOT order coffee from the staff!** At other star-rated hotels, staff typically ask what kind of coffee you'd like and bring it to you without extra charge. But not here. They won't tell you that the coffee you order is an additional charge, claiming it's made from the bar – a Long Black costs 6 AUD, even though it's clearly just from a machine. It was truly frustrating to find out at checkout that the two coffees I had at breakfast were extra.

The hotel's location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from the central train station. The front desk staff were gentle and polite, and the room was spotless. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast for guests and also provides stoves, utensils, a microwave, two large freezers, and a washer/dryer. Even though I was away from home, it felt just like being there. It was a wonderful experience.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay here. It's about a 20-minute tram ride from Melbourne city center (which isn't too far, but the tram is quite slow), then a 3-5 minute walk. The area is very quiet. The double room was very spacious, I'd estimate around 30 square meters. Even with two beds, there was still plenty of extra space. There's a walk-in closet-like area connecting to the bathroom (which is relatively small). The fridge is tucked away in a cabinet. All toiletries were provided except for a toothbrush and toothpaste. For Melbourne, where space is at a premium, this location and room size at only 500 RMB a night is a fantastic deal. I had to pay a 100 AUD deposit upon check-in, which was refunded on the day of check-out.

It's about 20 minutes' drive from the city center. There are many trams available, so the transportation is quite convenient. The room is quite clean, the space is large, and the environment is quiet. Some rooms have washing machines and simple cooking utensils, making it convenient for long-term stays. Unfortunately, there are no large shopping malls nearby. For shopping and dining, you have to go to the city center or distant towns.

The hotel kitchen is fantastic, well-stocked with all sorts of amenities. The living room is also great, with plenty of space and a comfortable, open feel. The bathroom is excellent too, providing a variety of toiletries. While the hotel doesn't have its own private parking, it has a partnership with First Parking for AUD 30 a day, offering unlimited in-and-out access, which is convenient. You just need to walk a few minutes to reach the hotel. It would be even better if the washing machine and dryer were separate units.
