The reviews mentioned the hotel was old, but I found it to be very well-maintained. The carpets were spotless, and there was no musty smell. As a family of three, the room size was more than sufficient. The location is also excellent, with a commercial district just a 5-minute walk away, which was incredibly convenient.

The overall experience leans towards a high-end boutique hotel style. The location is excellent, close to Collins Street, making it very convenient for getting around. The rooms are well-designed, modern, and tasteful, with comfortable bedding and good soundproofing. The service is professional yet unobtrusive, making it ideal for business travelers or those seeking a touch of quality.

The place is a bit dated, specially noticeable in the pool/gym amenities. However, what it lacks in newness, it makes up with excellent service. My child was celebrating her birthday and was surprised with a birthday treat during breakfast. This may be a small thing, but we appreciated it as she is anaphylactic to dairy and the staff made sure everything on her cake was dairy-free. We were also allowed to check in a bit later.

One of the not-so-great hotels I have stayed in (And I travel a lot!) - Staff is the only good thing I found in this hotel- Always smiling & willing to help, right from staff in housekeeping to reception. - Located right in the heart of Melbourne city center, but surrounded by buildings on 3 sides. Just 2 top end rooms on every floor that get a street view. All others either have a wall facing them, or a tin roof of a lower building. Felt quite claustrophobic. - Minimal amenities: No laundry service in the hotel (Only dry cleaning), no water in the room (Get it from a tap in the floor - I got locked out twice because I forgot my key in the room), not even a wire to hang/dry something in the bathroom. Definitely not meant for someone who wants basic amenities - not for business travellers for sure.

I’d say I’m now a frequent guest at this hotel when in town, and that alone says a lot. Credit to the management and staff for consistently maintaining such high standards. The hotel is always impeccably clean, comfortable, and welcoming, making every stay an easy and enjoyable experience. The location is as perfect. Shops, cafes and transport nearby.

My stay at Brady Hotel Central Melbourne was absolutely fantastic! The biggest highlight has to be its superb location – incredibly close to the subway entrance, making it super easy to get around. For foodies like me, it was even better: the hotel is surrounded by all sorts of restaurants and eateries. There's so much variety, and you don't even have to go far to find great food. The room itself was very comfortable, and the overall facilities and service were top-notch. It's rare to find a hotel in Melbourne with such convenient transport links and amazing food options nearby. It offers excellent value for money, and I highly recommend it!

We recently stayed at Novotel Melbourne on Little Collins, and overall had a comfortable and convenient experience. The biggest highlight is definitely the excellent location in the heart of Melbourne CBD. It’s very easy to get around, with plenty of shopping, dining, and attractions within walking distance. We arrived earlier than check-in time, and the staff kindly allowed us to store our luggage, which made things much easier. We were also offered a discounted breakfast option during check-in, which was a nice touch. The gym facilities were well-maintained, and we enjoyed using them during our stay. The room was a bit more compact compared to other hotels we stayed at during this trip, but still clean and functional. Although we had requested a higher floor, we were assigned a lower-level room, which currently faces some construction. One thing to note is that the lift system can be slightly inconvenient, as the reception is on Level 3 and requires a transfer between lifts. There were also a few instances where the lift didn’t respond as expected. Additionally, there isn’t a self-service laundry facility available. Overall, despite a few minor inconveniences, we enjoyed our stay—especially because of the prime location and helpful service.

Honestly, I found it just okay... The facilities are quite old. On the first day, my room wasn't cleaned, and when I asked the front desk for some shower gel, it took them ages to bring it. Eventually, they knocked, and when I opened the door, I saw three small bottles just lying on the floor outside. On the second day, the trash can in the bathroom had its liner separated from the bin, and there was no trash bag inside; the liner was just sitting on the toilet. What was most frustrating was encountering a double check-in... Ugh, anyway, the front desk staff really weren't very enthusiastic... Maybe it was because they saw an Asian face.

Location-wise, it's right opposite the SkyBus terminal and next to Southern Cross Station. There's a Coles supermarket right by the hotel entrance, which is super convenient for grabbing snacks. Trams 30 and 86 stop right outside, so getting around is a breeze. As for facilities, the room has a mini-fridge, and while the amenities aren't brand new, they're comprehensive. A big plus is that the front desk kindly accepted an online clothing order delivered to the hotel for me!

Our family of three stayed for one night. First, upon check-in, our room wasn't ready because cleaning was still in progress. We waited in the lounge where we were offered snacks and drinks. It took about 30 minutes, and as an apology, we received two bar vouchers. So far, so good. However, the next morning at 9:30 AM, a cleaning staff member came to our room to ask when we would be checking out. Check-out was at 11 AM, so I don't understand why they needed to come to the room to prompt us to leave. Then, 15 minutes before check-out, someone came to the room again, saying there was an apology gift (bottled beer and Coca-Cola, which were inconvenient to carry). We also received a call from reception. Our relaxing morning was completely ruined. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful stay.

I booked this hotel during a Ctrip promotion, and honestly, the price was a steal at 1000/night. First, the pros: Location: It's right in the city center, first ring, free zone. You can take the tram for a free city walk. If you're on a day tour, the bus pick-up point is just a two-minute walk away. The front desk staff, Holy, and the senior gentleman from concierge were both very nice. Now, for the cons: The coffee spoon wasn't clean, it was dirty. The minibar fridge had cooling issues; the bottom was full of water. These, I could overlook. However, and seriously, as a Hyatt Globalist, I rarely stay at InterContinental, and I have never, in all my previous experiences, encountered an unlocked room door. I left my room early Friday morning for a day tour and returned at 9:30 PM to find my room door unlocked, just as pictured. I was shocked. The next day, I spoke to the duty manager, and they checked the surveillance footage, confirming that no one had entered my room. But my stay experience was truly poor. Such carelessness, forgetting to lock the guest's door after cleaning. Plus, this hotel's elevators don't require a room card swipe. At 9:30 PM, both the front desk and concierge were empty, making it easy for anyone to access any floor. I somewhat regret not spending a bit more to stay at the Grand Hyatt. Also, I heard this hotel is rebranding to Regent, oh my! InterContinental truly feels like a makeshift operation. To think they dare to rebrand to Regent like this! This hotel usually sells at the same price as the Grand Hyatt, and if it weren't for this promotion, I definitely wouldn't have chosen it. InterContinental left such a terrible impression on me; it's really hard not to come here and complain.

The location is absolutely unbeatable, right in the heart of Melbourne's city center. Stepping out, you're immediately at St. Paul's Cathedral and Federation Square, with major shopping areas and attractions all within walking distance, making getting around and shopping incredibly convenient. The hotel itself boasts a style of understated luxury. The rooms are spacious, with a high-quality decor, and the bathroom amenities are top-notch, ensuring a very comfortable stay. The service throughout was attentive and thoughtful, with professional and detailed concierge and turndown services that were promptly delivered. The breakfast spread was extensive, offering a full range of both Chinese and Western options with fresh ingredients. The only minor downsides were that the building has some age, with a few facilities showing their years, and during peak breakfast hours, it can get crowded with a slightly slower refill rate for dishes. Overall, it remains a prime choice among Melbourne's high-end hotels, perfect for both business trips and leisure stays.

The hotel is located in the city center, with an Asian supermarket, Chinese restaurants, and cafes just down the street – extremely convenient. The facilities are on par with the hotel's price. You'll need to ask the front desk for toiletries and slippers. The staff, from the front desk to the restaurant servers and concierge, were all warm and polite. After checking in, there's a one-on-one WhatsApp service, though responses were a bit slow. The breakfast selection was decent, and the quality was acceptable. Good location right opposite Flinders Street Station and on the free tram line, spacious rooms and lots of bathrooms available, friendly staff and lots of free activities to get involved in which was a good way to meet people. Lift to all floors and staff on site 24 hours. Rooms and bathrooms didn’t seem to be cleaned much however, showers had hair in the drain the whole time, and general mess on bedroom floors not ever hoovered up in the 5 days I was there. My bed had a broken USB port however there were two sockets available, and the storage shelf would not shut as the latch was broken - I was offered a lock to purchase to shut this.

The apartments are good but dirty. The staff smiles to guests but don’t solve problems. First, when I arrived to the hotel it was early, their check in is after 3pm. The guy at the reception offered me to complete paperwork for check in. He also said that I can go for a walk and they will contact me once the room is ready. I gave him my Australian number but I never got a call. When I came back around 3:30pm the room key was ready for me, but why couldn’t they call me as promised? Second, the room was dirty especially bath tub (see photos). It had hair and skin of previous guests there- it seems they don’t really clean it. Second, next day morning I asked for packed breakfast because I went for a tour but the lady continued asking me why I need it and whether I want to check out one day early, why?.. third, the internet password did not work, so I went to reception and asked them to fix the problem. A lady took my phone and fixed it but instead solving the password issue she just reconnected using different option but she didn’t tell it to me . When I went back to my room it appeared that I still cannot connect my laptop so I had to go to the reception again. If the hotel staff know ls about Internet problem why not to fix it for everyone? Finally, they ask guests to clean their rooms before leaving otherwise cleaning charge will be applied. This is nonsense!

I recently stayed at Citadines on Bourke Melbourne for 8 nights and overall had a good experience, which I would rate around 4 out of 5 stars. The location is excellent and the hotel offers good value for a stay in Melbourne’s CBD. The room was comfortable and well-equipped, and I appreciated that housekeeping was provided every two days rather than daily, which I was perfectly happy with. However, there were a few areas where the experience could be improved. Housekeeping was somewhat inconsistent during my stay. On several occasions, floor towels were not replaced, some areas of the room appeared to be missed during cleaning, pillow covers were not changed when expected, and not all toiletries were refilled. It was frustrating to discover there was no soap or shampoo while already in the shower, requiring a call to reception and a wait for replenishment. The shower itself could also be improved, as the hot water temperature fluctuated quite noticeably between hot and cold, making it difficult to maintain a comfortable shower. There were also a couple of minor inconveniences upon arrival. The parking, while available, costs approximately AUD $45 per day and the process of locating and accessing it was somewhat confusing on the first day. Additionally, there was no HDMI cable in the room, which meant I had to request one from reception. Housekeeping also occasionally forgot to clear the trash, which added to the inconsistency of the service. The kitchenette could also be better equipped. I found the dustbin to be quite small for an extended stay, the knives were not very sharp, and there was no chopping board provided, which made preparing meals less convenient. On a positive note, after our 8-night stay, the hotel was able to provide us with a complimentary one-hour late checkout, which was appreciated and helped end the stay on a better note. Despite these issues, the staff were generally helpful when assistance was needed, and the overall stay was pleasant. With a little more attention to housekeeping consistency, maintenance, and guest amenities, this hotel could easily provide an even better experience. Overall, I would still consider staying here again due to the great location and comfortable accommodation.

Stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne – Flinders Street for a short city break. The location is excellent, directly opposite Flinders Street Station and within easy walking distance of Federation Square, the Yarra River, restaurants and Melbourne's laneways. The hotel itself is functional rather than impressive. It appears to be a converted office building, which means the layout is a little different from purpose-built hotels and there are no particularly memorable views despite the prime location. The room was comfortable enough, but the finishes and fixtures lacked the polished feel I've experienced at other DoubleTree properties. Business travellers looking for a more premium or contemporary fit-out may find it falls short of expectations. During our stay there was an issue with our baggage, however the staff handled the situation professionally, resolved the problem and provided complimentary drink vouchers as a goodwill gesture, which was appreciated. One disappointment was that the gym was closed during our stay, as this is a facility I normally like to use when travelling. Overall, the hotel's strongest selling point is its outstanding location. It works well as a tourist base for exploring Melbourne, but business travellers who prioritise hotel facilities, room finishes and a more modern feel may prefer some of the newer hotels in the CBD.

Honestly, it feels even better than a typical Airbnb, and the price is fantastic. However, if you're particular about cleanliness and facilities, be aware that serviced apartments generally don't quite match up to a standard hotel in those aspects.
