Very cozy hotel. Very friendly staff. I stayed in Room 9 for one night and the scenery outside the big window was amazing. Totally out of my expectation. Everything is good. My top 1 hotel in the UK.

The location is great. There are bus stops right in front of it for both sides. It is very easy to go to Rosslyne Chapel or the city center. There is always hot water. The wifi works well. The rooms are fine. The only downside is there is no breakfast. That's fine too, there are many alternatives outside. There are no hotel slippers, but that's nowhere else in the UK. So bring your slippers in your suitcase when you come to the UK. I would definitely stay here again if I came back because of its location and very good price/performance value 👍👍👍

It was absolutely fantastic! The women in my room were lovely, and we all tried not to disturb each other. We had some great conversations. The staff took excellent care of me, and check-in was done online.

The light is too dark, I am really scared at night, all the lights are on and dark, the wallpaper on the wall has a strong smell of formaldehyde, and the windows cannot be scattered. Then the sound insulation was very poor. I was woken up when someone talked in the morning. I hope this price can be better. Service is good

Location was good, right next to the bus stop. The rooms are carpeted and covered in strange stains which made the stay a little less enjoyable.

It's a good hostel, right in the center, a couple of minutes' walk from all the sights. I liked everything, but there was one downside: I was cold in the evening. At first, I thought someone had opened the window, but no, it was just a draft from the frames, and there was no heating anymore. The next day it was warmer outside, and in the hostel, too.

It is about a 15-minute bus ride from the city center, so it may be inconvenient if you want to leave your luggage and go sightseeing.
There are multiple bus routes, so waiting times were not particularly inconvenient.
The hotel does not have a reception, and there is only one management staff member during the day, and after you are given your key at check-in, you are free to do as you please. I thought the hotel was suitable for a trip where you just want to stay.
The room was old, but the fabric was clean and the bed was not too soft, but comfortable to sleep on.
The shower door was not fitted to the correct size, so the shower water leaked into the toilet. We had to think about how to turn the shower so that it would not leak.
The surrounding area is a high-class, quiet residential area, and if you take a walk in the spring flowers bloom, you can enjoy the gardens of each house.

The hotel is nice, the breakfast is very good, hot meals need to be booked in advance, parking is free and convenient, there is a bus stop not far from the door, which goes directly to the city center. It is difficult to park in the city center, so it is worth recommending for driving travel.

GGuest UserVery very satisfied.
Location. I like this. Although not in the middle of the city, but its very easy to go there by bus and stop at commonwealth pool.
There are 2 entrance via holyrood park rd and Dalkeith rd.
To go there with luggage, after bus stop. Walk to Holyrood park rd and entrance via main entrance. You will see the reception centre.
AAnonymous UserThis was my first time bringing my mom back to Edinburgh since graduation, and this hotel was always on my wish list when I was a student. The room offered a view of Calton Hill, and I'd definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit. It would have been even better if the room was on a higher floor. Plus, the haggis at the hotel breakfast was delicious, even better than the one at Haggis Box!
DDarren_in_BarcelonaReally comfortable and quiet hotel near Edinburgh Castle. Checkin was smooth, the staff are friendly, and the room was spacious. It’s also easy to reach the airport as the tram stop is around 5 minutes from the hotel on foot. The hotel offers secure luggage storage also! Amenities in the room could be improved! I’d stay here again during my next visit to Edinburgh.
PPratik KarkhanisWe stayed at Mount Royal Hotel in Edinburgh for 4 nights. The rooms are small but clean, and our room had a stunning view of the Scott Monument—definitely a highlight! The bathroom was quite compact as well, and the beds weren’t very soft, but for the price, the location is unbeatable. Just a 5-minute walk to charming bakeries like The Milkman, and so convenient for exploring the city. The staff were incredibly sweet and polite, making our stay even more enjoyable. Don’t miss the view from the bar near the reception—it’s gorgeous!
GGuest UserService was good enough and as per expectations of a big hotel brand. Nothing to complain about.
The only complaint I have is about the amenities. There was no dental kit provided in the room and when requested for, I was asked to come down to the reception to collect it rather than have housekeeping deliver to the room. There was no single use slippers either and I had to pay £5 for it which I felt was pretty excessive for a disposable pair of slippers.. I paid for it anyway since I needed it. The staff were kind about it though and could do nothing as it was hotel policy.
Hope Novotel can review its policies on the provision of these amenities.
GGuest UserGreat location and super friendly staff. The breakfast was very basic, though I guess that’s expected for this type of hotel. On the downside, the AC was terrible—it had a mind of its own and it was impossible to get it to blow warm air.
GGuest UserMy stay at Four Points by Sheraton Edinburgh has been overall very satisfactory. The location can be quite tricky but I did not mind the walk to Princes Street which is about 10 minutes. The amenities provided were good and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The cleaning staff did a good job but since it is a rug flooring, I found that nails from previous guests were still on the flooring which indicated it needed a proper cleaning process.
The check-out time of the hotel (11 a.m.) does not coincide with that on the site (12 00) but it was not an issue since the staff let us keep the room until 11 30 a.m.
SSMYTGreat accommodation for solo travellers. When I arrive I was met with a very friendly receptionist who briefed me on the stay. The reception and the bedrooms were in separate buildings for me (Old Town) but only across the road. The beds was comfortable and I was fortunate enough to have roommates who were quiet. Toilets and showers are separate, and it is clean every now and then. 4 stars because it is quite tight inside the shower the overall really good for what price you pay and would definitely come back again.
KKaren Kaye RagudoThe hotel is considerably in front of the Haymarket Station but can be walkable to Princes Street and to all other tourist spots. Our room was small for the two of us but we cant complain as it was clean. It has TV, aircon/heater, towels, and you can ask for disposable toothbrush in the reception. We enjoyed their free coffee and tea during our stay. The staff were also nice.
Llorenzo061284We had a pleasant stay at the hotel overall. The location is a bit far from the main tourist attractions, but it was still manageable and didn’t significantly affect our trip.
The room was comfortable and clean, and we appreciated the overall atmosphere. However, we did notice a few areas for improvement. One thing that stood out was the placement of the power outlets, which were quite far from the bed. It made charging our phones a bit inconvenient, as we had to sit at the table while waiting, especially when uploading photos and sharing our experiences.
Despite these small inconveniences, we still enjoyed our stay. With a few minor improvements to the room amenities, the experience could be even better.
