"This hotel is located near the department store and Golden Horse and Jade Rooster Archway in Nanping Pedestrian Street. The room is equipped with a separate toilet and shower. The breakfast was varied and tasty. I like the Asian corner with some congee and Chinese dumpling soup. The coffee was great and the selections of fruits and pastry were a great choice. Highly recommend!"

"Minimalist approach by the hotel needs improvement, the towels are little old and best replaced, the toiletry is basic and needs to be replenished with more without asking There were two receptionists, one is very polite and helpful providing a very pleasant service. however, the other is completely opposite, being unhelpful, provides bare minimum in answer and seems that any query is a bother to her. So training to upskilled to the latter is required. The accommodation is a motel style that is close to the Tangzixiang metro and walking distance to the kunming old town . Very convenient for travellers who just need a bed and a shower to rest. Overall a pleasant stay."

"Highly recommend the Duplex Two-bedroom parent-child room if you are travelling with children. The room is cosy and comes with thoughtful, kid-friendly amenities such as a potty seat, two-step stepper, room slipper, Lego, soft toys, etc. The staff are also friendly and helpful when I requested some help with returning the power bank even when I arrived at the hotel at almost 10pm. Additionally, there is a wide selection of breakfast for you to preorder in advance. Truly enjoyed our stay here."

"We stayed just for one night on our last day in Kunming Yunnan. We love the hotel because of its location close to Old Town Kunming. Great for halal food, close to Shuncheng mosque and shopping as well. The room is quite large, bed is comfy and clean."

"Holiday Inn Kunming City Centre – this place is truly a luxurious hideaway in the urban jungle! The location is absolutely unbeatable, placing you right in the heart of Kunming the moment you step out. Shopping, dining, and sightseeing attractions are all within easy walking distance; it's so convenient, my navigation app felt completely redundant. The room was so spacious it felt like there was a VIP lane just for my luggage. The bed was so incredibly soft, it could turn anyone into a 'Sleeping Beauty' (though I was most likely roused by the morning sun). The bathroom boasted water pressure strong enough to almost surf, turning a simple shower into a mini-vacation by Dian Lake. But the absolute highlight was breakfast: freshly prepared Cross-Bridge Noodles and Flower Pastries, and even the soy milk carried that unique Yunnan sweetness. I nearly turned the hotel into my personal canteen! The gentleman at the front desk had a smile as bright and inviting as Kunming's weather. Upon check-out, he even surprised me with a packet of Pu'er tea as a thoughtful souvenir. This gesture alone instantly made me a loyal fan! Next time I'm in Kunming, my feet will undoubtedly find their way back here automatically. After all, who could bear to leave this 'happy haven' where the entire city feels effortlessly at your fingertips?"

"It had been 20 years since I last visited Kunming — I was just 7 years old back then. This time, I came back for something truly special: to propose to my girlfriend on Qixi Festival, China’s Valentine’s Day. Given how much this moment meant to me, I wanted everything to be perfect. That’s why I chose the Grand Hyatt Kunming, a brand I’ve always trusted, and booked a Deluxe King Room with Club Access for August 28–30. The first night started well. We stayed on the 26th floor — even though the room was near the elevator, it was surprisingly quiet, and the layout and lighting made it feel warm and comfortable. Everything was off to a good start. But things took a turn the next day — the actual day of the proposal, August 29 — a day I had been planning for a long time. We were given a room on the 24th floor, and from the moment we walked in, I could tell something was off. The layout felt awkward, and the room was noticeably warmer than the night before. I turned on the air conditioning, but it didn’t seem strong enough. I even checked with the hotel staff that afternoon and was told the room was “standard size.” After the proposal (which thankfully went beautifully!), my fiancée and I left the room around 9:00 PM for dinner. Before leaving, we set the AC to 16°C, hoping we’d come back to a cool and comfortable space. But when we returned around 11:30 PM, the room temperature hadn’t improved at all. It was still stuffy, and the bathroom was even worse — no proper ventilation, just heat and humidity. We called the front desk, and two technicians came up. After checking everything, they told us the room was “normal.” I asked if we could switch rooms, but the request was brushed off. They just told us to wait — that it would eventually cool down. By then it was already 2:00 AM. Both of us were completely exhausted and had no energy left to argue. We tried to sleep. But at 8:30 AM, I woke up drenched in sweat — the room still hadn’t cooled down. Honestly, I’m heartbroken by this experience. This day was supposed to be one of the most memorable and romantic nights of our lives. And now, while we will remember it, it’s for the wrong reasons. I never imagined that a stay at a Grand Hyatt, in a room I paid extra for (with Club Access and “Deluxe” in the name), would turn out to be so disappointing. I didn’t come here expecting perfection. But I did expect basic comfort, and at the very least, a response from staff that showed they understood how important this stay was for us. Sadly, that didn’t happen."

"Born in 1999, I've always had a special affinity for turn-of-the-millennium architecture. These grand, classic structures, embodying bold visions of the future, also exude a 'dreamcore'-like surreal atmosphere that perfectly aligned with all my childhood aspirations for big cities. The Kunming Grand Park Hotel also opened its doors in 1999. While its facilities might show the passage of time, it still retains an old-world elegance and style. I particularly enjoyed the slow-moving, retro-decorated elevator; each ride felt like a brief journey through time. Walking through the corridors, it was as if time had gently receded, transporting me back to the atmosphere of the early 2000s. I often found myself standing by the window, gazing out at the city's evolving skyline in the distance. I couldn't help but wonder: What would the person who stayed in this very room twenty years ago have been like? Did they also stand by this same window, gazing at the sky and street views of their time, filled with anticipation or uncertainty about the future? It felt as if a thin membrane of time separated us, invisible to each other, yet sharing the exact same view in that moment. I loved it here so much; it felt like opening a window to another time. Yet, as night fell, the clearer that atmosphere from the past became, the more it evoked a gentle melancholy—like a grand, yet now untouchable, old dream. And precisely for this reason, I know I will certainly return."

"The hotel is located right in the old street, with a milk tea shop visible at its entrance. Once you step out, there are plenty of options for dining and shopping. Despite the lively surroundings, it's surprisingly quiet inside. Cuihu Lake is also very close. It's conveniently located near Wuyi Metro Station, Line 5. The staff were incredibly friendly and polite. My food delivery was sent to the wrong location, and they really went above and beyond to help me track it down. I arrived very early in the morning and was pleasantly surprised to be offered early check-in and a complimentary room upgrade! ^O^ Highly recommend!"
